As a White South African, after 30 years of Black rule, the Black man remains viciously racist and insults the White man and blames him for everything that goes wrong in his life and country. And, it’s not just race, it’s also sex, political affiliation, sexual identity. The part that keeps you up at night is knowing that the worst cases of this “reverse discrimination” is happening in hospitals…….by design.

It's interesting how people accuse Victor Davis Hanson of being "biased" just because he presents the facts as they are and draws clear conclusions from those facts. Accusing someone of bias for this reason means that the accuser doesn't admit the facts or the right to present those facts and a very clear interpretation of them. I may even disagree with one or other perspective, but in the whole Victor Davis Hanson approach to the undeniable reality and his obvious intellectual honesty is completely right and respectful.

I grew up with alot of Jewish Americans in my town and school system and without a second thought found the overwhelming vast majority to be very good Americans and very decent people. The Jewish familys have great respect for education and like the Asians are high achievers. I have not known any Hamas but I can tell you I strongly dislike what I have seen so far.

To the comments about genocide and Israel I would like to add that, firstly, Judaism (and Christianity for that matter), predates Islam. The jews have been in Israel for thousands of years. Secondly, regarding the facts of ethnic cleansing. In the 1940s in Libya there were 35,000 Jews and today there are zero; in Egypt there were 85,000 and today there are three; in Tunisia there were 100,000 Jews, today there are 1,500; in Iraq there were 100,000 Jews, now there are less than 10; in 1948 there were 7,000 Jews in Lebanon, today there are sixty. It is the same in Syria, Iran, Jordan, etc. Further, non-Muslims minorities in Muslim countries (Iran, Yemen, Egypt, Iraq, etc.) such as Christians, are being persecuted (including the kidnapping and forced conversion of Coptic Christian girls to Islam, who are then sold as brides) are disappearing. In Iran, the Bahai, Zarathustras, and Baloch are being tortured and murdered. Women in Iran aren’t doing so well either. And let’s not forget the Kurds who are fighting for independence. There also used to be millions of Hindus in Muslim countries but they are also disappearing. Meanwhile, the population in Gaza has grown from 63,444 in 1950 to an estimated 800,636 in 2024. If Israel is practicing genocide, then they are really lousy at it. When looking at how non-Muslim communities are treated in Muslim countries the facts speak for themselves. Funny how we never see any protests or civil disobedience over any of that.

I can attest to the reduction of standards at the college level as far back as 1993, when I finally achieved my childhood dreams of a college degree, a full 20 years after I graduated from what would be considered a mediocre, midwestern high school. The junior college challenge was learning to study, but got through that handily (well, except for algebra -- that was hard for me). Upon my arrival at the university level, I was expecting it to be more difficult but it wasn't. In many respects, the academic standards and demands of my high school well exceeded those of the university I attended.
In early 2002, in pursuit of a graduate degree, I was thrilled to have been accepted at Georgetown University! Again, I expected much greater challenge than I experienced -- mind you, I'm no genius -- and was surprised by the lack of academic demands and excellence. As a new convert to the Catholic Church, I was looking forward to a thoroughly Catholic education, at the oldest Catholic university in the country. I was thoroughly disappointed. It was a party school where morality and ethics were out the window. Writing assignments that were opinion, or position papers, were down graded if one did not echo the 'correct' position. Half way through my studies, my 27 year old son was diagnosed with leukemia, so I withdrew, without a backward glance, to return home and attend to him. I have no regrets.

They sure do have the right, but that's a specious take on what is happening. To wit: Just recently, the Pro-Hamas protestors, such as they are, defaced a Civil War statue here in NYC. Now, that statue represents a war solely fought for the cause of freedom -- it had no other purpose for occurring. Now, why would these so-called protestors, in the supposed name of "freedom," desecrate a statue that stands for exactly what they claim to believe in? The answer is, Because that's NOT what they're about. It's a smoke-and-mirrors operation, a classic cry-wolf scenario. While they cry "Freedom!", they're really using it as a cloak under which to agitate, and spread fear, discord and hatred. It's been proven that they're paid agitators, funded by Left-leaning billionaires who want to abolish that pesky thing called Democracy.
As Davis correctly states, there is no longer a nuanced line between anti-Israel and anti-Semitism. The people on campuses aren't looking to enlighten; rather, they're openly calling for Jews to be eradicated from the world: it's completely overt in their rhetoric. All this, ironically, while they tell us to stop the genocide (another much-misused word, that). As with BLM and George Floyd, they've taken what used to be legitimate talking points and conflated them into hateful and bigoted simplicities. Meanwhile, the college kids are undereducated and indoctrinated, which makes them perfect mules for the agitators who would love nothing more than to raze the whole of Western civilization.
I can't for the life of me see how anyone could think that this is going to turn out well. And, if it truly is some sort of Utopia that these people are looking to achieve, that makes it all the more horrifying.

Wow, awesome analogy! VDH always explains things that us non-elitist can understand. He truly is a Patriot who knows our history and how our wonderful Constitution has kept us free going on 250 years. Too bad there is such a fervor to tear it apart now. However, throughout history most kingdoms have lasts between 200 and 250 years and then the end has come. I'm faith-based so I put my future in the hands of Almighty God!
