In Iran we say: یا رب روا مدار که گدا معتبر شود گر معتبر شود ز خدا بی خبر شود O Lord don't let the beggar be wealthy If he becomes wealthy he forgets God It's great If someone has the capability of being rich & not getting obsessed with material life, but many of us are not like that. That's part of the reason why there are way more religious people among the poor than the rich. Also there is a Hadith from Imam Musa al-Kazim: مَن وَلَّدَهُ الفَقرُ، اَبطَرَهُ الغِنی
the only thing to consider when becoming wealthy is our iman/faith. before becoming wealthy, make sure we're preparing for good deen/iman for ourselves because anything in this temporary world is a test from Allah. will our wealth bring us closer to Allah through amount of good deeds, or will our wealth destroy us and distance us from Allah? with bad iman i'm pretty sure we're in dangerous position in the sight of Allah. i want to become wealthy too, may Allah give us firmness of iman before we become wealthy

I half agree with you since being wealthy isn't guaranteed, and most people won't achieve it. It's definitely worth giving it a try, but it's important not to invest most of your time in making money , allah said in surat al monafikoun يَا أَيُّهَا الَّذِينَ آمَنُوا لَا تُلْهِكُمْ أَمْوَالُكُمْ وَلَا أَوْلَادُكُمْ عَن ذِكْرِ اللَّهِ ۚ وَمَن يَفْعَلْ ذَٰلِكَ فَأُولَٰئِكَ هُمُ الْخَاسِرُونَ the translation : O you who have believed, let not your wealth and your children divert you from remembrance of Allah And whoever does that - then those are the losers. there is a lot of ways to get hassanat and money only gives you access to few of them .

The New Testament quotes Jesus as saying in Luke 18:25 that "it is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God" It’s different in the Qur'an 7:40, "Indeed, those who deny Our verses and are arrogant toward them - the gates of Heaven will not be opened for them, nor will they enter Paradise until a camel enters into the eye of a needle. The difference is Islam encourages you to be wealthy. Just don’t be arrogant with your wealth and remember Allah. Whereas the Bible tells you not to be rich.
Assalamu alaikum brother, JazakAllah for this meaningful message. Actually, our Prophet (SAW) praises the wealthy muslim. For those interested in reading more, I have inserted an incident/hadith from our beloved Prophet (Saw): Amr ibn al-‘As reported: The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, sent for me and he ordered me to put on my armor and weapons, then come to him. I did so and came to him while he was performing ablution. The Prophet raised his eyes to me, then lowered them and he said, “O ‘Amr, I intend to send you at the head of an army and Allah will award you with spoils. I will give you an appropriate portion of the property.” ‘Amr said, “I did not embrace Islam in hopes of earning spoils, but rather I submitted in hopes of Islam and to be with the Messenger of Allah.” The Prophet said, “O ‘Amr, lawful wealth is excellent for a righteous man.” May Allah increase our halal earnings and the beneficial knowledge to spend it on good
Correct bro that point u made about 5/10 of the people promised jannah by the prophet Muhammad s.a.w were proper proper rich. Also many Muslims nowadays look at the people of Palestine Lebanon Syria iraq and think that if they’re so poor then we shouldn’t strive to be rich and be greedy. But their perspective is completely incorrect. You should strive to work hard and make a lot of money so you can as you said help poor Muslims, build mosques, wells etc etc. You can quit ur 9-5 and devote more time to Allah azza wajjal.
