The evolution, from the formation of the earth to that of organisms, proves that life is NOT a sudden process and, definitely, has nothing to do with a higher entity. Believing in a religion automatically makes you fall into the error of assuming life as a sudden process...

You're listing all these things that you say are illogical, but then you bring up that god has always existed, which makes no logical sense to alot of people either.

If God/Allah is omnipotent, can he, say, create a rock that he cannot lift? I am interested in your opinion. I would like to hear an argument based on mind experiments only. No external sources.

Yes, there are several points in his reasoning that may be considered as logical flaws or places where his arguments lack sufficient justification. Here’s a breakdown of potential issues in his reasoning: 1. Painting Analogy (Complexity and Design Argument) His argument: He compares the universe to a painting, implying that since a painting must have a painter, the universe must also have a creator. Potential flaw: The analogy oversimplifies the universe's complexity by comparing it to human-made objects. A painting is clearly an artifact created by humans within a controlled environment, but the universe's existence doesn't necessarily follow the same logic. The argument also assumes that complexity requires intentional design, which may not necessarily be true. Natural processes can result in complexity (like snowflakes or crystals) without conscious design. 2. "Something cannot come from nothing" His argument: He asserts that the universe must have been created because something cannot come from nothing. Potential flaw: This is an ancient philosophical problem, but modern cosmology (e.g., quantum physics) offers possible explanations for how the universe could arise from a state of "nothingness" or from quantum fluctuations. Additionally, this argument assumes that our intuitive understanding of "nothing" applies universally, but at the quantum or cosmological level, "nothing" may not behave as we think. 3. Who Created the Creator? His argument: He responds to the question of "Who created God?" by stating that God is uncreated and has always existed. Potential flaw: This seems like special pleading, where the rule that "everything must have a creator" is applied to the universe but not to God. By saying God is uncreated, he exempts God from the very logic he uses to argue for God's existence. If it's possible for God to exist without being created, it's also possible (at least theoretically) for the universe to exist without being created. 4. Multiverse Argument (Infinite Regression) His argument: He rejects the multiverse theory by saying an infinite regression of universes is illogical because nothing starts or ends, so nothing exists. Potential flaw: His rejection of the multiverse based on infinite regression seems arbitrary. Infinite regression may seem counterintuitive, but many scientific concepts (like infinity or quantum phenomena) challenge our everyday understanding of logic. Dismissing the multiverse simply because it involves infinity doesn't necessarily disprove it-it could be that our minds aren't well-equipped to grasp infinite concepts. 5. One God Argument (Steering Wheel Analogy) His argument: He argues that there can only be one omnipotent God by comparing two people trying to steer a car. If one overpowers the other, it shows dependency and weakness. Potential flaw: This analogy is weak because it assumes that the only possible relationship between two gods would be one of conflict or competition. Polytheistic systems often describe gods with different realms of power that don't necessarily conflict with one another. Furthermore, the analogy of the car steering doesn't accurately map onto the complexity of the universe or divine existence. 6. Why Choose a Religion? His argument: He argues that without religion, life is chaotic and lacks direction, which is why we need divine laws. Potential flaw: While it's true that laws provide structure, it's not clear why divine laws would necessarily be better than human laws. The claim that human laws constantly change, and therefore humans cannot know what’s right or wrong, is debatable. Many human moral principles (e.g., not murdering or stealing) have been stable across cultures and time. The argument assumes that change is inherently bad, but evolution in laws can be seen as society's response to new knowledge or understanding. 7. Religious Text Preservation as Proof His argument: He claims that the preservation of the Quran is evidence of its divine origin. Potential flaw: Preservation of a text, while impressive, doesn't necessarily prove divine origin. Many ancient texts have been preserved for long periods, yet no one claims they are divinely inspired. Preservation speaks more to the care and reverence given by followers than to the supernatural truth of the text itself. 8. Scientific Miracles in the Quran His argument: He claims that the Quran contains scientific miracles, with more than 1,000 verses related to science, none of which have been disproven. Potential flaw: Many scholars have challenged the idea of "scientific miracles" in religious texts. Often, these claims involve interpreting vague or ambiguous verses in a way that fits modern scientific understanding. Retrofitting ancient scripture to align with contemporary science is problematic because it often relies on selective interpretation and ignores contradictions. Additionally, the idea that no scientific verse has been disproven is an assertion without detailed scrutiny of those verses. 9. Prophecies Argument His argument: He argues that Muhammad’s prophecies, like those about tall buildings and seas not mixing, prove his prophethood. Potential flaw: Prophecies in religious texts can often be vague, open to interpretation, or self-fulfilling. For example, the prophecy about tall buildings could be interpreted in many ways, and the idea that seas "do not mix" is based on observable natural phenomena. It's not clear that these prophecies provide evidence beyond what could be reasonably predicted or observed. 10. Afterlife and Justice Argument His argument: He argues that the existence of an afterlife is necessary for true justice, using the example of an innocent boy who dies young and a wealthy criminal who lives a long, luxurious life. Potential flaw: This argument relies on a moral intuition that life must be "fair" in a cosmic sense. However, fairness and justice don't necessarily imply the existence of an afterlife. Many moral philosophers argue that it’s up to humans to create justice in this life, rather than waiting for divine intervention. The existence of injustice doesn’t necessarily prove the existence of an afterlife. Summary While the speaker presents a structured case for Islam, many of the arguments contain logical gaps, assumptions, or analogies that oversimplify complex philosophical and scientific issues. The arguments rely heavily on faith-based assumptions, and while they may resonate with those who already believe, they are unlikely to be fully convincing to someone demanding rigorous logical or empirical evidence.

Amazing post, you put into words what I was thinking while watching the video. It was especially funny to me how he argued that something cannot come from nothing and then said god has always existed right after.

God is not easy to describe, just look at russel's paradox the set of all sets does exist by axiom of specification but it cannot contain itself but it contains itself by definition. It is this contardictory nature that can define God that is beyond human comprehension. In Hinduism, it is already described no one in this universe or the multiverse even if it exists can know the absolute truth. but one can only accept that. Scienece has already hypothesised the universe came out of nothingness. till now I have not come across a comprehensive and convincing definition of a point. How do you prove something that does not exist ie. a point does exist. The notions of emptiness, null sets have been well defined in our scriptures. In fact one of our principal deities Lord Shiva has been described that he's something that who does exist and does not exist simultaneously. And everything that does not exist is within him. So that's basically a maximal set or a supreme being who has no equal, one who encompasses evrything and everything that does not exist, basically a complete set. He's the supremum of all knowledge as well as infimum of ignorance. One who is formless yet takes form. In fact I could give one more rational explanation for the ignorance aspect. Every book that has been written or will be written whether it makes sense or not already has a mathematically equivalent sequence of numbers by defining a bijection. That's also a reason why he is all knowing also known as 'Trikaldarshi' (One who has the knowledge about the past, the present and the future) simultaneously. One who has no beginning nor end. That's why Hinduism is not for beginners.
