I always end up coming to this channel every time I'm having trouble with English so thank you so much for the helpful video! Btw can u please make a video on persuasive essay writing, please?
Which format do you prefer: 1) Writing 1 para in favour and 1 para against, and you write 6 paras like this 2) Writing 1 para in favour and in the same para you also write about against, so you make 3 paras containing both favour and against 3) First writing 3 para in favour and then writing 3 para against the topic ???
For questions like: Going to university is the best way to get a good job.’ Do you agree? Give reasons and examples to support your view 1. Establish a clear thesis in the introduction. In simple words, tell whether you are going to write in favour or against the topic. Now when you are done giving your thesis, move on to the next step. 2. Apply the inverted pyramid approach. Simply, write your STRONGEST argument in the first paragraph. Then, support it with questions, facts, statistics, and anecdote etc. This is your second paragraph after introduction. Then, make one more detailed paragraph to give another argument to support your thesis. As I mentioned above, try to be convincing by providing logical arguments and reasoning. This is your third para. After you are done giving arguments to support your thesis, move on to the next step. 3. Make a paragraph for the counter argument. In this para, present the other view point (that you went against). Then, reject it as well (as I explained in the video). 4. Finally, restate the thesis in the conclusion. This is 1 approach that you can take. For questions like: What are the advantages and disadvantages of having longer school days but more days off school? Give reasons and examples to support your view. You can either: 1. INTRO 2. Make 2-3 paragraphs for advantages. 3. Make 2-3 paragraphs (depends) for disadvantages. 4. Conclusion OR Create a contrast while writing 1 para in favour and 1 para in against (continue in this way). This first point that you mentioned. For this approach, you should have the skill to create coherence and contrast. I hope it helps.
According to the current syllabus (2022-2023), the word limit for composition (Question 2) is 350 - 500 words. And the word limit for directed writing is 200 - 300 words. I hope it helps.
@@muhammadmalik145 Not 1 Hour, It's 1hr 30 min For O level English and its advised to spend 35 mins for directed writing and 40-50 mins for Essay and the remaining 5-10 mins for proof reading.
