Hey all! Ive gotten some inquiries about the kit Im playing here. Its a 2012 Yamaha Recording Custom in Deep Blue finish, 10, 12, 13 (left side), 14, 16 toms, my Yamaha 5x14" signature snare, 10" Yamaha Erskine snare. Cymbals; Istanbul Mehmet 14" ES signature hi hats, 19" Traditional Paper Thin Crash, 22" Turk Ride, 14" Turk hi hat (remote closed), 18" Trad. Paper Thin Crash, 22" ES Signature Swish Ride, Evans Drumheads, G2 on toms, Genera on snares, EQ4 on bass drum. Tycoon cowbell. And of course my fantastic Vic Firth sticks. Also check out the enteries in the JPA play-along contest that Vic did a couple of years ago. Cheers!
It is a cuban montuno pattern played in double time, 32nd notes with the left foot on both the hi hat and left bass drum pedal.A montuno groove in standard time is played for the outro of the tune -Erik Smith
I know that Erlend Gjerde wrote this song for a fact and it's shameful that his name isn't credited for this production. Shame on you VIC FIRTH and all the other drummers who have posted Mr JPA without giving the creator of this fantastic piece of music the fame he deserves.
The sticks that he's using look really small, like the Dennis Chambers model or something similar. Or he's just a huge guy and those are really Super 5Bs!
Joel Marquez I am not talking about timing or being featured in anything,I just simply agree that he rode the crap out of that bell till the end. And hopefully he will be featured alot more,he is a good drummer.

i wish my grooves sounded like that… perhaps due to the cymbals :/
+johncorolla istanbul mehmet has very affordable price, it does not cost a fortune to have decent cymbals :)

Wow this dude sucks because he can make something so simple sound so damn good!
(one) Ding (two) Ding (three) Ding (four) Ding........
Boy that off beat bell sounds really cheesy ...not the sound of the cymbal but the part itself
jesus christ .... almost 5 minutes of that off beat bell .... DO SOMETHING ELSE
Groovy keep em dancing
Yeah, that bell got old after about 4 measures from the beginning.
concepnin cool , at least he is featured on vic firth.com that speaks a lot
Joel Marquez I am not talking about timing or being featured in anything,I just simply agree that he rode the crap out of that bell till the end. And hopefully he will be featured alot more,he is a good drummer.
