Technically it wasn't bad shot selection. It just looks that way because Yao was so freaking tall and long. Kobe saw Yao take a step back as a defender anticipating a drive to the basket by Kobe or a pass to Shaq down low. That's when Kobe chose to pull up for the jump shot. Normally it would have been a wide open 3-point attempt, but Yao is so long and tall that he was able to slightly contest Kobe's shot. It's not like Kobe just said yolo and took a reckless shot.

TBH Steve and Cuttino were decent guards but were never as good as prime T-Mac. However T-Mac was not reliable in the playoffs, never showed his dominance in any series, which was very disappointing to Rockets fans. It would amazing to see Yao pairing with less ball dominant guards like Ray Allen or Jason Terry who were also proven reliable in playoffs.

@@donavonhoward1899 but yao made the hall of fame because of his impact in china when it comes to the sports of basketball. not because he has a great career in the nba he is good injuries killed his development but his performance in the nba is not enough for him to make in the hof he made it because of his impact internationaly and in china.

姚明当年跳的还挺高的，速度也快，后来增重加上轮休太少，膝盖和脚踝损伤太严重了。
这个时候力量还明显有短板，应对绕前办法也不多，所以得分起伏还比较大，后来力量对抗上去了，基本上是无解的大杀器，但伤病也多了。
