I’m always impressed by people who feel bored if a song is slow... It must have something to do with dopamine. The greatest musical masterpieces are slow, and getting used to only heavy instruments must be bizarre.
I've been a big Dead Sara fan way before I've been a Linkin Park fan, mostly shrugged LP as "dad rock" but for millennials. First time I listened to LP around a year ago my mind was just blown by how great every single track was and the ability of Chester was just beyond what I could ever think of them doing. When they announced Emily as the lead, I was anxious about how she'll be perceived. Chester is one of the best metal vocalist of all times if not the best, there's not going to be any replacing him so that might have been way too much pressure on Emily. At the point of the announcement, Emily was still to me the Dead Sara lead, my little secret band if you will but to see how the album has been received is a great joy. I'm going to see them live in Riyadh for the first time and I couldn't be happier. The video is great by the way, I genuinely enjoyed it.
@@GENIRYODAN Thank you so much for watching our video! That must be such a surreal experience to watch her advance into one of the biggest bands in the world. I had no idea who she was and I was so nervous for her when I first saw her on the live stream, what a way to introduce yourself, but she absolutely killed it, I don’t think they could have picked someone better for the job🤘
I really appreciate your reaction to this album. You can really tell that you guys know music. Even the songs that aren’t quite for you, you guys still respect the music theory behind it and can appreciate the song writing even if you’re never going to listen to the song again. For me, I’m not into punk so much, so casualty is my least favorite track, but I still know the work and craft that went into the song. I feel like a lot of people get so caught up in their own taste for music that they can no longer appreciate any other sound. This album is definitely really good, and I have saved 7 songs from it onto my playlist. 70% download rate means you did something right.
Thank you so much for your kind words! It really means a lot. I’m glad you’re of the same mindset, you can enjoy music in so many different ways, musicians can spend hundreds of hours on one track, the least people can do is try and appreciate something in them when they finally release them to the world. 7 out of 10 tracks is very good going! Has there been an album you’ve saved more from this year? 👀
What's interesting is the intro track, the choir part, is actually layers and layers of Mike and Emily's vocal tracks. Mike disclosed that on a live stream listening party that was done the other day. Pretty cool.
It’s hard to calculate exactly who the biggest metal band is in the world, but one of the best indicators is monthly listeners, out of all the bands that you could consider metal Linkin Park sit at the top. Interestingly they also sit very high in just general bands at No.5, behind Coldplay, Imagine Dragons & One Direction
@ I think it’s the best metric to judge a bands popularity right now, Metallica are the bigger band historically and in sales, but you look at the position linkin park are in compared to where Metallica were when they were the same age, Linkin Park have a higher ceiling for success. Metallica have currently sold over 125M albums, linkin park have currently sold over 100M but have 15 years on them and are the bigger band right now so I think they will end up having more sales and are the more popular band today

That’s so cool! I never knew that, I just assumed it was an actual choir
Great reaction and review. Love your cat though 😊
Btw Good Things Go is my fav from the album and i hope they play that song at the next tour.

@@valisvolkova3025 I lost myself on that tangent 😂 Thank you so much 🤘❤️
you started wrong, the biggest metal band in the world is not linkin park, their not even a metal band.
They are amazing thou

no it’s not, just look at the numbers.
The biggest band in metal music is by far Metallica.
And linkin park is not metal, alternative at best
@ That may be the case now, but Linkin Park have over double the amount of monthly listeners than Metallica
You don’t measure a band size by spotify listeners,it’s measure by sales, grammys, awards, etc….
