Here in Southeast Asia, I am going out with Free (no community, a few freebies, but can “look around”; Member (USD $5 community, little content), Specialist ($10/mo, foundation courses and good bunch of content), Leader ($16/mo). People in Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia can pay these amounts, $49/month is way too much in the region. Even at my prices, take up is very slow, but starting to pick up. Went live 6 weeks ago. 184 network members (free), but only about 7 people subscribing to paid plans.
Sounds like you've made some excellent decisions. You know your Ideal Member best-the averages are just that, averages! Congrats on your momentum. Onwards and upwards!
The key is switching from paying for information and content - which can feel like homework - to the value of the community being the other people in it and the mutual accountability.
