    This was so very helpful! I am a fused glass artist/jewelry maker and for years I used E6000 and frankly hated it! So I am ramping up my stud earring designs and thought, "I've GOT to get this piece figured out!". I just made some test pieces and have used Gorilla Glue Construction Adhesive and the sterling silver posts came right off after a 24 hour cure! Thankfully it was a test. I am on my way out to get the G-S Hypo and just for good measure, the Devcon 2-Ton 2 part as well. Thank you for the link to that incredible table you provided, SUPER helpful. I got the Printer Friendly version too. Thanks, this video was a true business and life saver! 🙂❣

    Thank you for making this video. I’ve been using fabric fuse e6000 for the last few years and love it. Unfortunately I’m feeling very sick for the last few days and I had been using the glue a lot with no gloves. Now I’m wondering if I poisoned myself or do I just have one of the many flu’s going around?

    This is a very helpful video and I appreciate you making this video. I would like to make sure I understand which glue to get. Could you please tell me, which glue is best for attaching a metal hoop to a plastic bead? I have a tiny hoop I cut in half so I could glue it on top of the bead. I'm interested in creating a keychain.

    Thank you, this was very helpful. I have been using E6000 Jewelry & Bead for most of my jewelry repairs with good success. I see your Devcon recommendation - has anyone tried the JB Weld products for metal-to-metal jewelry repair? If so, which one (super glue, clear, etc)? Has it been successful?

    My mom got me a tube of E6000 Jewelry & Bead & a tube of E6000 Extreme Tack. Are either 1 of these good for gluing satin rattail cord or S-lon cord in a barrel clasp? Are either 1 good for gluing cabs to felt?

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi there. E6000 Jewelry & Bead can be used for gluing cord into a barrel clasp. You will want to make sure it's not moved as the curing time for this glue is about 24-72 hours. This glue would work well with gluing cabs to felt. We wouldn't use the Extreme Tack for these projects as this glue isn't designed to be used in that fashion. Extreme Tack is great for paper, fabric and other lightweight materials such as, ribbon, sequins or small beads. We hope that helps.

    is there such a thing as colored glue? For instance, i have a Susan Shaw necklace with a gold chain. One of the connection wires between the pendant and bead holding it in place is loose. If i had some gold glue i could push it back in to fix it. However, any search on "gold glue" returns only something about gold leaf.
    Thanks! And thanks for the helpful video!!!

      I am not aware of any colored glue for that type of application, but here is what we have for glues and adhesives, with most of them drying clear: www.firemountaingems.com/shop/glues_and_adhesives

      Hi there - you might want to slightly sand the area of the two materials you are gluing as this can help the glue to adhere. We also have a chart available that might help you find the right glue for your projects: bit.ly/39oAq5y. Thanks for watching!

    I have a big bottle of crafters pick fabric glue I bought to glue threads together before I put them in a clasp when I'm doing a kumihimo piece cause it's easier for me than trying to sew all the threads together. It works great for that but I've been thinking of using it on other things but I don't know if it would work & I can't find a video on that glue.

    • @FireMountainGems

    What do you mean by foil back

    • @FireMountainGems
      @FireMountainGems  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Rhinestones, also called "flat-backs" have a foil back or a non foil back. Most Flatback Crystals have a foil backing which acts like a mirror, the light passes through the crystal glass and is reflected from the foil backing to give the crystal a sparkly diamond like appearance. Without the foil backing the light just passes through the crystals and they look like a piece of crystal glass. The foil is also useful for providing a good bonding surface for the glue to stick to, without the foil backing the crystal will stick to a shiny glass surface so the bond isn’t as strong.
