    Nice car, had one just like it from new, did over 100k miles in it. Flat stable at 130 mph on the autobahn. Check the fuel filter in the tank, it can block and strand you. Vauxhall dealer services don't include checking it. Cheers Nick

      Yeah had few gauze filters in the tank cause problems on other cars, it’s a cracking car so original and rust free.
      Thanks for watching 👍🏼

    The first of these with that bmw m51 diesel engine had no egr and a fully mechanical pump. I took my m51 engine out and fitted a bmw M57 diesel engine as it fits straight in to gearbox and mounts all fit perfect then I wired it up and it had 200bhp and 40mpg. Made the car Perfect.

      @CarAddictGarageNE  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah the EGR definitely hold back the MPG and performance.
      Only thing that wasn’t ideal was the automatic gearbox, not keen of it at all wish it was manual

    I do like an old 1990’s estate barge. This is the sort of old car I’d be inclined to keep running as a useful old load lugger & run around that was still presentable.

      It’s a fantastic car, love the sound of that straight 6 BMW TD 👌🏼

    Love it! Those 2.5td’s were fantastic engines in the day. Love the colour too, what a great find!

      Don’t get me wrong the big petrol elite one are also nice.
      But this been the straight 6 diesel, in estate and GLS spec is just such a nice find.
      Looking forward to starting work on it.
      Getting my 406 2.2 HDI back this week as well 👍🏼

    To be honest I had a Elite Omega 3.0v6 with the same Autobox, I done 120k in it it was lightly tuned to 260bhp 211ftlbs torque.
    I couldn't prase the car up enough on reliability-gas mileage,comfort.
    Yes the auto was old hat but there lies it's charm.

    I'd love that. An it's an Auto Estate that is amazing. I bet you'd be hard pressed to find another like that.

    I have to 100% agree with you on this, it’s the right spec, right engine, been auto, estate and pre facelift, I’m a 4x4 guy but this is one car I would definitely own

    What a super car... Enjoy it. I have just bought my first ever Vauxhall (Antara ) v. low milage and my diesel does not sound as good as that. Enjoy it. With a little bit of time spent it would be a great show car. I go to our local shows and see cars of 70's and 80's like this one and people just gawp at them 'cause they have never seen them before. Just enjoy it. Bob

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I definitely think this would stand out at car shows, purely for been such an odd spec, BMW diesel, auto, estate and GLS.
      Yes the Antara if it’s the 2.2 diesel just be sure to regularly change the oil (with correct grade) Dex2 or 1 depending on year, as they regularly blow turbos, and they are a horrible job to replace them.

    Nice video of a great car. Feeling a little inspired to get a proper look at mine (2000 2.5TD Auto Estate) again and seeing if it can become a car and not a cupboard again.

    Always wanted to try a diesel one of these, agree the engines sound fantastic.
    The preface dash is a nice looking thing (says the person who has owned 5 face-lift Omegas). Might have to get a video done on my 2.6 Elite 🤔

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes I have never had anything to do with the diesel ones either, had plenty petrols.
      Years back I preferred the facelift omega, but in time have reverted back to the pre facelift just looks so retro

    Did you win this in an eBay auction? Haven't watched the video yet, saved it for when I'm alone and free, but think August time last year I was bidding on a 2.5 TD estate this colour and was one bid off winning it. Loctaed in the West Midlands somewhere, want to say Stoke, Stafford or Cannock but I can't remember. Found a local 2.2 DTI estate but would have preferred the 2.5, although the 2.2 has served me well so far. Your estate looks a lovely car!

      Unfortunately I can’t hand out my email on TH-cam as it’s public viewing.
      As for parts I have not yet needed to get hold of any parts yet, service parts, brakes, suspension and so on are very easy to get through various motor factors.
      Specific parts body work and so on are bit more difficult, usually have to go scrap yards or eBay

      @@CarAddictGarageNE cheeky of me to ask. I use to have a 3 litre mv6, lovely car, wished I'd never sold it! And yours is mint, certainly a future classic. I fitted cruise to mine from a donor vehicle with the engine wires etc, new stalk and brake pedal sensor. I also heard myself remapping the car would kill the gear box, I know them diesels are rather quick after a tune up and fuel economy improves a hell of a lot. Keep the vids coming and if you wanna sell it let me know 😁

    • @CarAddictGarageNE
      @CarAddictGarageNE  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes that’s my next stop super chip and it’s only £80 done or £35 me doing it my self…. As you say worried about the automatic gearbox and stressing the HP fuel pump, not sure I would sooner keep it totally standard.
      Yeah the diesels are nothing fast in today’s standards, for me it’s the sound of the straight 6 old school turbo diesel it’s awesome it’s priceless

    • @philwright8269
      @philwright8269 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@CarAddictGarageNE Yours is more of a plodder, nice having the extra umph is you need it though. I use to have a Saab 93 1.9cdti (150bhp), I had that remapped and the problematic DPF took out. It put out 400 torque and would see off 3 Litre diesel BM's, it surprised a lot of people (there's a vid of it on my channel, 0-60). Mind you... Big Brother is watching us so i'd rather just stick to the speed limit, plus i'm older and more mature!! What alteration does the super chip do, what would your gain be? +30bhp? (It would probably handle that, it can't be that weak surely).
