    Good luck with Rachel Hamilton, give her every bit of ammunition (information) you can, that appalling practice of berry scraping is just one, not least he smaller hands-on operator is so far more sustainable for the environment than the big guy's....... Off topic - my favourite shot in your intro is the Lynsey B going out through the entrance passing the Harbour Masters office. Definitely front page for a OMAHB calendar if you ever decide to put one out...... hah, typical viewers eh...? - just want - want - want......lol. Keep up the good fight Baz...

      Hi Andy
      🤣🤣🤣... no bud, you just suggest away what you want as it's the fans that help us go in the direction we need.😁👌
      It was a good meeting with Rachel Hamilton she knows a lot about the political side of things and the process on which they happen.😁👌
      Yeah, the big guys will always rule the roost. I'm afraid, bud, and they always seemed to get away with their illegal doings.🤷‍♂️
      But, as long as we are on the right sustainable path, trying to better not just our future, but the future of the next generation of fisherman, then our conscience is clear.😍😁👌
      Hope you have a great weekend ahead, bud.
      All the best.😊

    I will ask, Why no fresh bait in the pots?

    • @onemanandhisboat
      @onemanandhisboat  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Peter.
      At the point this vlog was filmed, bud the lobsters were sitting, not much movement from anything on the ground, so the pots were baited with fresh the day before.
      We can't afford to keep buying bait ( especially with its high price just now) just for it to be wasted 😁👌
      All the best.😊

    Summertime was always peak season for the inshore gang. We caught boat loads of Jonah crabs & few lobsters' offshore summer season. At least on my side of the pond. From what you're saying & the vid you're posting you're doing things right. You mentioned the "big boys" in this vid. I have an opinion about large company fishing ops. I can't say what I'd like to here because of blue language. But I will say this. Once company equals one license. That one license can fish 100 boats or more. It's a lot easier to police one license than 100 small independent operations. So much like here in the US... They're (Government) trying to squeeze out the small independent fishermen. That's just my own opinion. But look at quotas and landing regulations. Hey thanx for the vid. Hope you're catch improves.

      Thank you so much indeed bud.
      It looks like this is happening all over then.
      Because that's exactly what our government is trying to do to us.😔
      So it's never about the environment, or next generation.
      It's about profit and control, and the government wants it all🙈🙄🙄🙄
      Thank you so much for the clear picture bud....and trust me we all want to swear about it!💪😁👌🤣🤣🤣🤣
      All the very best 😁 👌

    Empty, store pots heartbreaking end of week, wages, stolen and 😊4 am in the morning Got to my fishing boat my Honda four stroke just a few months old had been stolen couldn’t get insurance for it and I was still paying for it which I did two years after it was stolen. Not happy days

      OMG! That's terrible, Stephen 😲😲😲😞😞😞
      I'm so sorry, mate. The job is hard enough without that nonsense going on. How heartbreaking is that.
      Mind you, I would love to catch the buggers and give you 10 mins in a room with them.🤜👊💪no holds barred 😁👌
      Because going to the police would be useless.😞😞😞
      Certainly not happy days, bud. I really feel for you.😞
      I hope things are far better now.🤞😁👌

    Barry why don't you get a waterproof cover to go over your steering console, I seem to remember you had water damage to your plotter in a previous episode.

      @onemanandhisboat  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Peter.
      Thank you so much for your comment and suggestion 😊
      That will be a plan at some point, but when you make pennies and things cost pounds, or more like tens of pounds these days, the Lynsey B has other priorities, especially after all these months of engineers bills, and out lays on parts, etc.
      But one day, hopefully soon, we shall get a bespoke cover to fit over the important bits of the console.
      Also, sorry for the late reply, I'm on my family holiday, and I am band from replying until our return home.🤫🤫🤫🤫 don't tell Lynsey.🙈🙈🙈🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😉👍
      All the best bud.😊

      Oh, it's rife in this part of the coast bud, mind, you never seem to catch them, though, and god forbid the day I do catch them.💪💪💪😉👍

    I thought ,scrubbing the eggs from female Lobsters was illegal, the only way round this is any undersized female lobsters caught is to V notch them when under size.

    • @onemanandhisboat
      @onemanandhisboat  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi David.
      It is severely illegal to scrub berries.
      But if they think they can get away with it, they will try.
      I just hope they get caught and made an example of by the authorities 🤞😁👌
      All the best.😊

    No wonder you look so, sick of it, realy awful, folk steeling from your pots, and I'd no idea there were so many other boats all fighting for space, the greed is everywhere, scrubbing berried lobsters as well just awful, hope things improve for you PS I liked that wee bit soft piano music in the back ground

    • @onemanandhisboat
      @onemanandhisboat  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Anne.
      As always thank you so much for your comment and support. 😍😁👌
      Yeah, it's a total waste of time sometimes, but that's fishing.
      As for the thieves, karma will catch up at some point in there lifetime.😁👌
      Scrubbing the berried hens is a disgusting form of these so called fishermen, and if they are caught. I hope they get an example made of them, take their licence to fiah away, that should put the colywobbles up them.🤞😁👌
      All the best Anne.😊

    i feel sorry for you every time i watch your video's, your grounds have too many pots which equals overfished, which equals low catch, with equals no wages! not sustainable in the long run. 90 mills lobster landing size would help in the long run a few years of pain would then reap the rewards.

      I have the same sad feelings watching and hearing what’s happening to fisheries in general. I’m Scottish by birth and went to sea in the Merchant Navy when I was 17. I have lived in Canada for the last 50 years or so and watched in disbelief and shock as the cod and other species were fished almost to extinction on the Grand Banks. Ultimately the whole thing was closed to everyone except for personal consumption using hand lines
      At this point it hardly matters who/how the problems were created - there’s no solution where commercial fishing isn’t the loser and everything comes from farms

    • @onemanandhisboat
      @onemanandhisboat  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Craig.
      Yeah, it's happened all over the east coast of Scotland I'm afraid.
      Once again, no governing from Marine Scotland on this matter and it would only need a few steps, but they are too comfortable with the government salaries to care.
      But, I don't just blame the Scottish Government, the men are there own worst enemies.
      I know one thing, my grandfather would be turning in his grave if he seen how we fish these days, it's so disrespectful to what they had taught us many, many years ago.😔

      Hey Gordon
      Thank you for the insight into your life.
      I really appreciate your comment and input.
      It's very sad on what's happening.
      I totally agree with you.
      It's shocking that we are cleaning the sea of every resource it can give us just for profit, especially when it comes to the BIG players of the game.🙈
      Hope you enjoyed the vlog all the same.
      All the best😊
