Thanks for this Nick, I'm one of those guys who cant play a note on anything but I'm a Jon Lord / Hammond freak, that sound just grabbed me the first time I heard Purple in late 70's and I'm still hooked today. Keep telling myself I'm gonna get a keyboard and learn to play, will do it one day.
God I love this Hammond part from the great man. I especially loved how he (with Richie) inverted his power chords with the fifth on the bottom. It sounds so much gnarlier. The roar of that C3 totally made DP's sound.
Nice job Nick. As a Huge Jon fan and a fellow Hammond player, it’s great to see others play tribute to not only a great band, but also an incredible player and human being. Thanks
Thank you for the great tutorial and amazing video. I love your version of this song and like the fact you had mentioned and combined parts of live performances with original record. This song and specifically John’s parts made a huge impression on me at the time, which made me want to pursue music as a hobby at least. This video was very enjoyable to watch, so I definitely will be coming back to it again!
Just noticed on the video, when I put the drawbars back the other week I managed to get the felt pushed back and you can see the screws on the top of the drawbar unit, must sort that next time I see you.
Great tutorial, thanks a lot! And what an awesome sound, I love it! One question: Is the distortion produced only by the organ + tube Leslie or are you using further "tools"? Thanks!
Excellent great, sound some scales around Arabic-Turkey, but that's was somehow part of John style, not forgetting the classic though, humble opinion, may not be right.,thank you for your tutorial.❤

My pleasure. If you want to buy me a coffee there’s always my Patreon 😀

Further tools Alf. I have a video already on the overdrive unit and I’ll work up a video soon about the whole signal chain for you.
@@nickfoleyuk Thanks a lot, Nick! Looking forward to it.
