Just got mine. Amazing bass guitar. Action is low, the pups are PERFECT. Versatile with warm lows, and the bass growls when I want it to as well. The heel contour makes the upper frets more accessible
I truly love to listen to Anthony play. Life wish..... I would love to have a chance to talk with him about his sense of groove, and about his hand and muting techniques!!
When i grabbed mine first thing i noticed was the weight....it felt so perfectly balanced.... amazing bass....and quiet , like barely any fret noise...tone is great... But tone doesn't sell to me...i want something that plays good...and quiet. Not clickity clack noises all across the neck. I can play smooth, consistent ans quietly...i mean playing bass you got fo be a muting genius on some basses. ..thats a struggle itself. Fender makes it easy... high quality across the board... everything about is quality...show me a bass that people say " its good for the Money" ans ill show you how noisy it is...never fails...cheap instruments are noisy...i love fender for giving me peace of mind lol..ive played many basses and i own many...the fender is quiet...and i love that...so smooth too.....and to top it off, aounds great....tone is the last factor...a piece of ahit can sound good....most basses sound good.... playability is a different story....oh and it stays in tune... someone tells me that a Mexican is comparable...i say wait two yeara and tell me that... cause your gonna be tuning all the time..the electronics start going... the fretwork.. Mexicans are nice dont get me wrong, but your paying for quality... there is a difference...im always amazed at people who are like "the cheap one sounds better" its not the sound...its everything else...i just hate fret noise...and i finally found a quiet bass..
The Batman Dark Knight , I own a 2000 model Jazz bass MX and the one you are holding. That's all that is needed. Awesome basses. I need a tiny Bat sticker for the dark knight. Awesome review BTW Sir love it
With the cost of boutique basses being insane looks like the fender american prof. II and the sire basses are the place to be for mid to high end basses without having to shell out 3-5k. Might be trading one of my warwick thumb basses for one of these. Sounds so good. (I have 3 thumb basses lol......I can do without one.) Just wish they made the 5 string in the night shade.
Anthony, what strings were on this bass? You mentioned "no setup", are those actually stock Fender strings? I've always heard they are really bad strings, but you honestly sound AMAZING!!
Would be cool if you wanted an extra bit of vintage on there.. V-Mod II's are rock solid though... they do everything well, very versatile for any style. Not really a bad option out there, depends on what you like and want to invest. Thanks for watching - Anthony
@@EmpireMusicPgh thank you...i will change my pickguard for a red or Brown tortoise...and i don't know if i can on that model...but i want to install à bridge metal cover...but i don't know if that fit on american pro 2
I’m a big Fender fan, and I’m a (newbie) fan of your videos. But I’m not a fan of the new pick ups. It’s hard to describe. It doesn’t sound bad, but there’s not a lot of output. It’s seems neutered compared my other Ps. But it’s beautiful and a nice player. It’s important to add I’m a hard rock/metal player, so what falls short for me may serve others well. Keep up the great work.
There was marked improvement after changing out the strings to DR Hi Beams. They are like a breath of fresh air for the tone. Like removing your face mask. The clarity of the notes is much improved with fatter lows, punchier mids and brighter highs across the board. Incredible difference with that small change. My bandmates love it and it’s grown on me too.
Yes these pickup are very bad full stop V Mod Artificial, I am sure you install the CS 60’s inside it will be much better, but the Mexican Rod Worn 60’s Jazz much much better I have both & I returned my new American Pro ii jazz Dark Night, thus a bass I can call bass if no where.
Will this be an addition to the Fender line or will it replace the "normal" American Professional? The Fender site doesn't give a definitive answer as some models show up with their "normal" and II version, while other models only have the II version available.
Hello! Is that bass better than American Performer? I listened many videos and for me it sounds more precision'ally than my Am Perf PJ. Now thinking about this bass. Or maybe i should try to replace yosemite pickups for cs62+cs60jazz for example?
Personally I like the American Pro II series more than the American Performer. I also would agree that it has a more traditional P sound. The Yosemite Pickups are a touch bright for my taste. However, that doesn't make them bad... total personal preference. That's the glory of having a ton of great options out there. Thanks for watching - Anthony
Hey Anthony I was wondering if you'd mind offering me your opinion on 2 Different American Fender P-Bass? No music store around me to go play the Bass I'm asking about.. These American Profesional 2 PBass sure do sound good. So how would you say they compare to a American "Standard" Fender P-Bass? I'm looking for another American P-Bass and I thought I was for sure gonna get a American Standard again.. but these Profesional 2 keep pulling me in. Lol So if you don't mind, your opinion on which you'd choose (Standard or Pro 2) Lastly which would you say has the better Tone, Playability, definitely Quality build and Materials, and how about the Necks? Lol I'm sorry I know I'm asking and throwing a ton at you!! I'd sincerely appreciate your feedback and your thoughts!! Thanks so much!! 🤘 (Ohhhh I wanted to mention my playing style too and which would be best for my style) I can play any style but what I'll be playing the most is many different versions of Punk Rock. I do play with my fingers only, and I'm not saying even a little bit that in as good as Matt Freeman from Rancid but his Punk Rock style of playing is very similar to my Punk Style.. Also Tim from Thursday and now LS Dunes... Hey seriously thanks so much again!! 🤘🤘
Pro II's are a great evolution from the American Standard. However, not having one here to truly A/B... I would not be offering an accurate opinion. I love the V-Mod II pup's for any style, they really are a versatile pickup. Graphite rods in the neck (I don't believe the Standard had that) are fantastic for stability. it may be a recency bias, but Pro II all the way. Thanks for watching - Anthony
The Precision ll Professional richness in sound exceeds any bass in existence. The varied amount of alnico in the pickups leaves the Fender Jazz bass in the dust. Just plain fact.
Let's rebrand the same damn instrument we've been making for over 60 yers and jack the price. There is NO excuse for charging over $1500 for a fucking P bass, none. It's an assembly line instrument that can now be made easier and cheaper due to CNC machining.
Gotta admit, helluva sales pitch - Empire is definitely going to be in my search when shopping for this bass!

I played this same Bass at my local music store, and this Bass sounds and plays excellent 👌!! Warm and thick!
Great basses! Thanks for watching - Anthony

just picked this bass up. best sounding P I've played. u can really tell the difference sweet!!!!!!
That's a beautiful tone with a pick. Most other video reviews I see have it too trebly or with overdrive.
stunning guitar...and nicely played
Reminds me of 70s Fender Instruments. Sometimes the black ones faded to a sort of blue burstish color.
I think I might eventually have to shell out for one of these nice P Basses. All i've got are Jazz basses.
Whoa that a colour , Sheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeyt I never like modern colours that’s amazing
The surf green is the sweetest

Do you have, or have access to, a PLEK machine? I looked on your site but didn't see anything about it.
Your getting a cult following Anthony keep it rolling and playing
Wow amazing 👍
Wow, shoot just bought a rickenbacker. I think I will need to sell and buy this.
@Empire Music what do you think about install pure vintage 63 pickups on this bass? i think about it...

how does it compraring to American vintage 2 1960 P bass ?
I returned my vintage 2 to get a second pro 2.

I read somewhere that they also changes the body wood to Roasted pine. If that's true, that's the most important change by far.
The roasted pine is only on the jazz bass. Thanks!
@@EmpireMusicPgh Good to know. Thanks! BTW, One of Your demos make me decide to buy 2019 CS Postmodern, so thanks for that to! :)
It's beautiful I like the tone but the price well lets just say that my wallet is gone and is reduced to fine ashes.
LMAO
😆😆😆
Great review. Thanks
Thanks for watching Daryl! - Anthony

Real rosewood ?
Yes.
Almost like my 70 p
I love it but.. .c'mon Fender almost 2k for a modern bass! :(
Fat sound, excelent
I like more the Pro I P bass pickup sound
Great tones but that finish gives me anxiety
Love videos but...
I would pay no more 1250

You didn't roll off the Tone
I didn’t know Cowboy Cerrone played bass
LOL - I'm still working on my kicks and ground game - Thx for watching, Anthony.
Bullshit . The colours are great though .
Way too expensive for what it is!
Anthony Pecora!? ahahahhaha
Oh, man. Poor guy. What a name...
I like my name. - Anthony
Very nice
