Great reaction video 😁 the song is incredible 🤘 Im on the same boat with you aswell, Alissa is my favourite singer for Arch Enemy. cant wait when the album comes out and to go see them again in November! 💙🤘🤘
Both are extremely strong lead singers who dominate the stage. Alissa has the advantage that she also uses her clean voice and therefore has more options. That gives Alissa a point win. Arch Enemy makes melodic death metal and that's it.
I prefer Alissa as well (not taking away that Angela is the OG beast) because she was who I heard when I first picked up this band. This is my favourite of the first 3 tracks they have released - I love the epic flavour and while it IS nihilistic, the message seems relevant to me. As always Alissa' vocals, although nice and harsh, are also well produced with good diction, I like that the guitars are clear and show off musical intent rather than lose themselves in muddy distortion, and the drumming sounds nice and crisp. What we've seen so far - though I loved Deceivers - has, to me, something of a retro feel. It's heavier and more aggressive, I think. Totally on board for that. Happy so far and looking forward to the album.
Thank you for sharing. Deceivers is my favorite album so far. I have really enjoyed everything I have heard from the new album. It sounds like it might give Deceivers a run for its money. I can’t wait to hear the full album. Thank you again my friend for sharing 🤘
I agree that they are a great gateway band for people who already like the traditional stuff and are looking for something heavier. That's how I got into more extreme styles hehe, and a big part of that is their melodic side, but also Angela's super confident performance (that was maybe 2006 😅) . I get the meet and greet experience, maybe it will be easier the second time around? I know I somewhat forgot my English with Apocalyptica, but talking to Lisa and Anders from Draconian was very chill, so maybe there is a learning curve 😂
Yeah, I definitely need to try and play it cool the second time around. This time I have a talking point. I printed a poster for the tour I went to in London and have a meet and greet with In flames a few weeks prior. I am having In flames and Arch Enemy sign the poster. So it will be a little bit of a talking point. I am thinking that will keep me from tripping over my words 🤞
