+WYOMINGWOODTURNER It was nnice having a time to chat with you. Thanks for looking Sam. Does it matter whether a poet uses a pencil or a computer?? Just get it done without beating up our bodies.

That is a great line. About the poet. I have been checking out your system. I also saw Carl's video review. It is a great system that works on big and small stuff. I have to do some thinking. Thanks Sam

I agree with Guy Bradbury. Best explanation of using the laser yet! I also appreciate your view on why a faceplate is better than a chuck in this application.

      Hi Dale,
Your TH-cam message got cut off, I did not get it all. You might want to use email for the lengthy notes. I am sure you will see many new methods in the DVDs that will change the way you turn for the better. Merry Christmas

    Aloha Lyle,
If this were a larger piece that you were roughing out, would you remount it on the faceplate or chuck after it has dried sufficiently?

      Aloha,
Hope you are safe. I do all my turning from green wood all the way to finished wall thickness. I never double turn unless I need it round when finished. Size is not a problem.

Mahalo Lyle. The Big island has a lot of flooding in areas. I'm on Oahu and Lane seems to be downgrading to a tropical storm. I just hope we don't have any outages otherwise I'll have to convert my lathe to one of those foot powered types. Just set up my deep hollowing rig and getting ready to mount some 24" monkey pod sections. Thanks again.
