Got my Final Rise vest a couple weeks ago. What a dream vest! I had just purchased another vest that had padded shoulder harness straps. I recognized the padding could effect my gun mount so I went to the sporting clay range to test it, thought I could work around the padding. The padded straps caused inconsistent gun mount during my bird hunt in Kansas though, resulting in a lot of missed birds... Hunting is not sporting clays & you don't have time to think through the shot. I came home from the trip and started researching all the available vests without padding. I found Final Rise. Matt Davis explained the effects of padded straps perfectly. After purchasing The Summit Vest, I put it to the test on a mearns hunt in Arizona 2 weeks ago. My gun mount was not inconsistent and I bagged more birds in 2 days vs 6 days in Kansas. The covey counts per day were pretty much the same in both states. My new other vest is on eBay for sale. Thanks Matt for taking the time to design a great Upland Hunting Vest!
Excellent breakdown of all the features that make the Final Rise vest what it is. Waist belt and shoulder harness tandem are truly exceptional in the field! Keep up the great work Matt and team!
smart idea. i've been thinking about the idea of replacing the daypack/assault pack with a battle belt and buttpack instead. but then i though about load bearing. this seems to combine the two concepts rather well. the benefits of this system outside of hunting and military application over a backpack is ease of accessibility, distribution of weight, and tighter center gravity. i wonder if you would consider a version designed for hiking/survival with molle and padding
At 10:29 in the video, seems like pretty light clothing for snowy windy weather, what brand are they, would love to be dressed that light and still warm
Awesome design. What color is shown in the video? BTW Shell loops are ok, but a kydex shotshell caddy (Ares Tactical for ex) has always been way faster for chukar/auto loader for me. Works with MOLLE, but just in case you want to add a revenue stream…
$300!!! Tenzing and Badlands have a nicer looking product for 2/3 the price. It’s canvas and nylon straps. You’re off your rocker. Cut the price in half and you might have something.
Appreciate the comment, Isaiah. You may want to consider something more like our Legacy Vest model - finalrise.com/products/legacy 100% American Made & Sourced and sewn in our shop here in Utah, it falls a little more in-line with the more simple, less modular vests you mentioned. Ultimately, there's a product for everyone. Hope ya find the right setup for your needs and wish ya tons of success in the field!
Sourced & built in the good ole USA comes at a cost, other products are made by children in 3rd world countries. I live in Canada & this vest will cost me close to double that, but the quality won't be beat & I like to support hard working North Americans if I can.
100% American made and made by hand. There’s your reason for price. Further more, buy once cry once. There was not another vest on the market that is capable of carrying a dog in an emergency. Prior to this vest coming out, you had to carry other lesser quality items to carry an injured dog. When you pioneer something like that, it comes at a price. If you’ve never met Matt, you’re missing out. He’s a class act guy who’s got an extreme passion for the sport and the dogs and he pours his heart into his products. Yeah it might be $300 but I can guarantee you that you will never find another vest on the market that is as well made and can be put through its paces like these. I can guarantee you that your Chinese vests and vests made in 3rd world countries won’t hold a candle to these vests. How many time you buy some Chinese crap to use in the field and part way through the season the zippers blow out of it tears because the quality isn’t there and it won’t make it through the season? That won’t happen with these vests. Do yourself a favor and buy one and I’m willing to bet you will throw that Chinese crap you wear now right in the trash.

Excellent overview of what appears to be an extremely well thought out vest. Look forward to trying one out soon.

Awesome review, I'm looking to get into upland for the first time and I love your product. Prefer something locally made in the US

Orvis Softshell Technical Hunting pants, must have some heavyweight long underwear on also.

@@chasingtheking22 amen brother. Buy 4 china-mart vests off amazon and spend more while being dissatisfied with each one.
