Hi Blythe - Tours chaine comes from chain, i.e. equal parts on a line. Make a half turn of the same size with every step in 1st position! The quick head movement comes exactly at the moment when the 2nd foot touches the ground. The head does not wait until the maximum lateral position, but is actively executed a fraction beforehand...greetings - Prof. Tappendorff
@@hanstappendorff6930 yes indeed, from chain, like a string of pearls or a gorgeous golden chain. For beginners, I find the specificity of “a fraction before” to be too much information, but yes there are many finer points to develop. Isn’t it wonderful what a lifelong adventure dancing can be?
@@ABlytheCoach ….bringing the head to the maximum lateral position makes no sense! Tense muscles move slowly and there is often a counter-movement. Please watch a slow motion of perfect execution... and tell students the truths!
