The full-length eighth episode of the Pure Pwnage web series. Original release date: September 19, 2005. Official merchandise: www.noobstore.com www.purepwnage.com
This show, as the years continually churn onwards, is going to become a relic of late 90’s to mid 2000’s gaming culture. The old monitors, towers, keyboards, mouses, headphones, LAN cafés, jargon, attitude, all of it. This show brings me back to when I used to go to the LAN Café on 15th and Lonsdale in North Vancouver. My oldest brother played CS 1.6 there religiously. My other brother was an extremely competitive and dedicated StarCraft player. I, the youngest, would normally play Diablo 2 or Warcraft 3 custom matches while they engaged with the larger café culture. This show encapsulates that time and everything special about it better than anything that was created in that era, indisputably.
@@ir0x539 when they were simpler* just because something is more "complex" doesn't mean it is always better or creates a better environment for a human being to flourish in. Bruh i miss these kinds of old school lan parties. The last lan party i went to was around winter of 2003. I remember winning $100 from smash melee tournament. Then winning $500 from the smash 64 tournament. I played a few games with Pikachu and Fox, but when a good player came along. I played Jigglypuff, and i was untouchable.
I miss it aswell. In early 2000s, when I was 13, we had a "computer club" in my small city, where you'd pay 12 dollars every month, then it was open and free to play every wednesday for 5 hours.. We were like 20-25 people every week, playing cs 1.6, stronghold crusader, age of empire, wc3 etc against each other. Vending machine with cheap chips, coca cola etc. Damn I miss that.
This was THE show back when. Honestly watched religiously. My brother and I went to teh movie screening in Calgary @ Kensington theatre. One of the best mems I'll ever have. So pro! Just know, if I could have anything on teh internet, it would be this show. Long Live purepwnage
2019 and im still watching this show almost daily. Miss these days. Wish they still made stuff. PWNING NOOBS FOREVER. Every time i get a headshot or pwn someone at a game, this show will always be on my mind. PP will never die!!
I have realized this - in the finals there's like a projection of power. Deathstriker projects his power to make Doug a noob, fall off his chair and fry his PC. After that - Jeremy gets a new PC, sits down for final death winner takes all, and the Masterer projects his power through Jeremy when he closes his eyes and we all get the win. I may have just watched this a million times and am making imaginary connections.
@@PiroKUSS They're a part of HP now, just like Alienware got absorbed into Dell. They both seem more like high performance gaming rig brands for HP and Dell these days than independent companies, but that's just my impression. AFAIK, Falcon Northwest is still independent. I always liked their stuff as well, although Alienware had the most recognizable style of the three.
Doug is easily the best character created for any show ever. I LOVE the way you feel nervous when he's on screen, because he gets dangerously close and has all those physical tics, and talks way too loudly. When he was holding the knife in an earlier episode I was really worried!
@@nataliep6385 i remember they were also streaming it too and if you ever watch the stream they are usually out of character and pretty chill in general. not extreme like in the videos
Man I remember watching this way back and wishing I could be one of those dudes at the end, seeing Kyles face. Now that I know what he looks like, I have to say I agree, I thought he'd look cooler.
It warms my heart to see that upon entering the arcade, the first game at the entrance is Initial D. That was the game I played the heck out of when I was watching these episodes come out a decade ago, and now I am a proud owner of the machine in my garage. Yea this came out a couple of months after I graduated high school and was working my first job at my dad's construction site.
omg you lucky bastard, what stage? How much did you pay for it? I've played stage 4 before but here in vic i've only ever found one machine, and its really beat up but fun as hell. Have you played wangan midnight maximum tune? That seems to be the popular one now, its basically in every arcade and has a traditional H style 6 speed transmission as opposed to the sequential intial d one
Thought about picking up a unit, but the nostalgia wasn't worth it to me, just went and picked up a used Logitech G27 and got assetto corsa and some other racing games. So many mods for AC it's basically just as good if not better. That being said, I spend quite a few quarters back in my day whenever the initial D machines turned up and replaced the stupid outrun units.... lmao
I like how this felt like an actual TV show rather than just a dude filming The Pwner and FPS Doug. not tgat the rest of the show was bad. Episode 4 was great too.
@@Uborpriest Nope definitely from Toronto. I've had drinks with them after a show in Toronto, and shot all the shit. The shots of the streets in the show are in Toronto. Although in this episode they do travel to Calgary for Lanageddon. But 99% of the time they are in Toronto.
I remember watching this episode when it first came out and when they were building the computer all I could think of was "I wish I had a computer that awesome".
arguably the best PP episode ever i mean u have the opening with smash bros... some arcade, a god damm lan party... real one $2000 pc to play CSS an actual villain gg
It's my favourite episode for sure, 2 bros enjoying some games together, some serious competition and that dude gets knifed on the CSS 1v1 - worst way to lose that game ever
17:21 that's actually Ravi Sood one of the co-founders of Voodoo PC. So the Masterer straight up called the CEO for a custom computer. That's fuckin Boss.
