I decided to play this while the queue was counting down as i have always loved frost blades and love shatters and this has been the best league starts ive ever had, really nice damage while levelling and really fast, thanks for having updates! im still running dual claws atm but i will eventually switch to a shield but im not dying much atm, its a really fun build

This league I decided to try a miner playstyle, absolutely hated it. Then your build was on my list of "in case I don't like a miner", and it freaking rocks! Loving the playstyle and the guides. Also this league I'm using the new Call to Arms gem + Immortal Cry, and changed the Steelstin with Immortal Call, with 3 endurance charges almost up all the time, thanks to the Trickster Mastery, it helps a lot on defenses!
Thumbs up! This is super helpful. I decided to go Lightning Strike for ruthless since frost blade isn't as good. I don't use whirling blades though. Since I banned it from my game for being too broken. Flicker Strike is really nice though.
I league started the build. I had a super rough time before trinity which I didn't get online until late act 4. Then I started to struggle in late reds because I was more focused on rushing atlas than gearing. But now that I am 3 pieces away from mimicing your week 1 gear. This build is by far the most damage I have ever gotten on a league start. It is definitely fun and fast, especially with 7 frenzy charges lol. I would recommend this build for sure. Just be patient because once it comes online, its a blast.

If you were to do that you might keep using it when you are not being hit, which is why cwdt is better because it offers you a better %uptime when you actually need the shield

Played your build after skipping 4-5 leagues and its a blast! Definitely the "staying alive" part is a small headscratcher but most of the things you discuss are extractable if you read the talents you select in the PoB. What wasn't clear to me (before watching this video) was the base types of gear we are going for. I thought that because we have red and blue gems, hybrid bases are OK, but they are a no-no -- full green evasion power! What is not clear 100% yet is what is an acceptable claw for a trinity setup (I have one with T1 AS and T1 Fire damage and one other with high PHYs rolls). Also is double dipping possible? I have a ring with T1 PHYs and T1 Cold dmg to attacks. Will I benefit from both? Anyway, I will figure these out too eventually... Thanks for you content! Cheers
Yea, you want pure evasion bases to scale evade up as high as possible - you won't get enough armour or ES to do anything from hybrid bases. Trinity is bad - I don't recommend using it anymore after the 3.23 Heatshiver changes. Going full phys converted to Cold is stronger, and easier to do. Trinity is good for leveling, especially before you get a Heatshiver, but not late-game.

Also, are you going to make new crating videos now the old Veiled Chaos orb is gone? I mean if Necropolis crafting isn't an option for whatever. Your crafting videos have really helped my buddies learn the basics. Friend of mine never crafted anything before, but used your Chest crafting video to make a really good chest for his build a while back.
Maybe, but the crafts mostly haven't changed because the core function of the veiled orb didn't really change unless you have a prefix or suffix that wasn't locked you needed to save - so any craft that used a veiled orb before didn't have that, and so thus didn't really change in process.
How does the ideal claw for no trinity frost blades should be like? i remember with trinity it was added cold added phys phys% crit crit multi and att speed... idk what to craft for it now tbh
You don't have to choose between those 2, you should have both - fortify is on the implicit, and evasion comes from the prefixes being high-tier. They are both important.
Is there any additional defense we could add at the cost of damage? Frost Blades' play style is super satisfying, but I play on HC, so I want survivability at all costs. Is it worth fitting in determination?

@@markel661You lose too much DPS. I use totem, blood rage and berserk on my Scion, but I guess Trickster doesn't need that because he doesn't generate rage. Regardless he needs blood rage and totems
Can’t you get 20% *More* attack speed from dual wielding two claws? You get 10% from dual wield bonus and an additional 10% from the claw mastery. Also one good crit multiplier suffix can negate the offensive stats you’d get from the shield so it’s basically 15% to 20% more damage by dual wielding.
You don't take 2 claw masteries late-game and the elusive one is way stronger. On my end-game builds equipping 2 of my near-perfect claws instead is 3% more damage - absolutely not worth giving up life and 19 suppression, even if it WAS 20% more damage it wouldn't be worth it imo.
Yes they stack, you can use +1 from tree and +1 from gloves until you get +2 gloves. +2 gloves require you to Orb of Conflict the +strike up to rank 5 - can be expensive.
Best defense is to know the visual and audio cues with things in this game and manually avoiding damage. Just building tanky damage to soak up hits is to me not only boring but other than a few super meta pricey builds you sacrifice so much damage in the process. Have layers, recovery, you'll be fine.
Any attack build i have to craft a + crit attack, extra curse, - total mana cost and sometimes frenzy on hit if its needed. The fortify as an implicit is great if you're no where near the SW side of the tree but the amount of damage and qol you get from an influenced chest is so hard to pass up
hard disagree for frost blades at least -- you can crit cap without that, an extra curse isn't that useful/easy to fit in, and you dont need frenzy....also very hard getting suppression and chaos res on a hunter chest

Yes you could drop hatred for determ and go arm ev hybrid gear, or ev es gear and go soul drinker.

Uhm, in our pob we generate frenzy charges with the mark mastery, instead of using it to blind enemies. what is prio here?
You get blind from an Abyss jewel or a Claw veiled Physdmg mod, not the Mark mastery (Or from Tattoos now too)

This build can do any strat you want - I'm not a sweaty divines-per-hour grinder (anymore), so run whatever strat you want
