38:36 you met the legendary AA1K, one of the world's top contestors and Top Band king 329 DXCC...at Top Band dinner on Friday, last man standing...and tower climber/repair
Back at home after Hamvention and thought I’d check out some videos… When you started walking through the flea market, I was like, “Hey, there’s that table where I bought an FT2DR!” Then you guys made a comment and zoomed in on it. What are the odds…? It was actually my first purchase of Hamvention; I looked at it, didn’t really have it on my shopping list so I had walked away, then second-guessed myself and went back and bought it. Glad I did! Planning to use it to learn more about APRS and some other stuff. It seems like quite a nice HT so I’m looking forward to playing with it. Great video!
Haven't been to the Hamvention since 2007. Prior to that I went 25 straight years in a row. Thank you for the video. The flea market was always may favorite part of the Hamvention.
It was so wet because it stormed for about 4 hours in the early morning. I was camped in a tent and couldn't get out out of the tent till about 7:30 am. Got to meet you in person Josh and personally thank you for your videos about the Baofeng that got me studying because it was a radio I could afford. I also appreciated your videos that helped me along with getting my Tech. license. Thanks again and it was fun being "interviewed."
Thanks Josh for letting all of us who can't be there also partake! Couldn't watch live, but just made it through the replay... Really, really cool!! Someday I'll definitely make it to Hamvention... Meanwhile I'll be going to the local fests, MercaHam in June and IberRadio next September, should be a ton of fun too... 73 from Barcelona in Spain!!
Aaron - worth checking out a local hamfest. But they can run the gamut - you can get great deals on older gear or on niche stuff (I use Motorola gear and got some stuff for pennies on the dollar), but you also get people who think their well used 30 year old Icom HF rig is worth $600, etc. Usually a good place to get connectors, wire, coax.
Excellent walk thru vid! I actually bought that ID51A at the 1:40 mark! I think you and I may have been the only ones to brave that lake in front of her!! - de Tony W3FLH
So cool to see you in Dayton! A wave, and the ole finger guns is all I needed. Seriously, I know you were doing other stuff, but it was cool to just see you around. Thanks for the content. I'm a 3rd generation Ham, and you have helped bridge the gap several times for me. Thanks for all you do. -KE8TLE- redacted chief wahoo shirt guy-
48:15 I believe the author of "Level UP EE Lab" channel bought this very HW-101. So far there are two videos available that show the restoration process.
Josh great stream ! Love your audio and noticed your were using the DJI Mic - so want to get one of those but they are about 2 months to get them. Flea market looked great ! Loved your interactions with all those with tables - you are truly one of the good guys !
Josh, great content, thank you for what you do for ham radio. I am just sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you while I was out walking around. -Ryan W8PNP
Hi Josh great video as usual. Apart from all the interesting stuff that I saw I have a question concerning your selfie stick. In your discussion comparing to the Rhodes Mic. You never mentioned the brand of selfie stick that you were carrying. Could you share? It sounds like an interesting item to add to my pile of stuff. Thanks in advance.
With all of the technological advances in todays world, why can't we get higher quality video on these livestreams? Everything is so blurry that can hardly make out what we're looking at.
I bought that smokey HW-101 shown at around 48:15 and have started a repair and restoration series on it, over on my channel. Thanks!
Nicely done! Keep it alive!

Josh and Adam, two of my favorite hams. Thanks for the humility and kindness you show to others there.
Thanks!

So cool - I bought that ID51A at the same table! Later, I sold the FT1D that I had brought with me - to your OM!! - Tony W3FLH

Josh please keep it up! Cannot tell you how badly I wish I were there right now!!!

Thanks from doncaster uk 🇬🇧
I was there yesterday. As one person said, "more boat anchors than San Francisco bay." The flea market was mostly old, useless junk. It's kind of sad.
Thank you so much for the video! I have a friend and club member there selling batteries.
Glad to meet you in person, today. Missed the rain. Guess we chased it away. Great time!

I have to repeat that comment...Yes! Josh and Adam, two of my favorite hams as well, especially Adam K6ARK, his minimalistic approach is just amazing.
Thanks Roy!
@@HamRadioCrashCourse Thanks for all you do in promoting Hamradio.
Sun and fun in Vegas @EDC or mud/rain 🌧️ of southern Ohio..easy choice.
Josh, I got an FT-817nd with low hours maybe 20 hours on it. for sale.
Josh what are you using to record the video and audio thanks.
Fusion Link, Ohio Room 40557 Booth 9219 and 9220 have a LIVE Digital C4FM node and Yaesu users can call into the Hamvention 2022 event!
Just finished up a system fusion brief in classroom 2. Good stuff!
Enjoyed the video. I'm look for a charger cord for yaesu Ft-50R. Thanks. KI5BXY.
I do like these swap meets
APPRECIATED
Every time dealing with a fellow ham on used equipment at a swap I got fair deal.
thanks
Any bargains I wouldn’t mind an RCI 2970 N3 or a 2950 DX
I had an Icom IC-91 with D-STAR back in the day. The D-STAR board inside it ended up being worth more than the HT itself.
Josh, great content, thank you for what you do for ham radio. I am just sorry I didn't get a chance to meet you while I was out walking around. -Ryan W8PNP
Wow! Thd74 continues to appreciate…

From not being able to see anything in person to that place would cause my brain to overload in no time.

Is it just me or does the 720p version look super blurry?

Your picture is a bit blurry, is that normal?
That’s quiet common when you’re live-streaming.
Haha! I'm delighted ☺ I also ask for mini disk recorders! That's too funny
Oh SNAP!! that pachinko machine 😳I would have bought that thing in a nanosecond!!
What mic are you using?
