You're always so classy and put-together! Have you ever considered auditioning for QVC or HSN? I could definitely see you being a host on one of those channels. :)
I agree! On the first video I've seen of yours Tracy, I thought you must be a newscast woman or something. You have the looks, the voice, and you pronunciate so well.
You are such a blessing, Tracy. This is truly essential tutelage that I never received as a young adult. I look forward to the rest of the videos in this series and will begin tomorrow gathering my information to begin this process. I will of course refrain from questions until the final video in the series. Thank you so much for sharing what has worked for you and your husband! 🙏👌🤗😘
Thanks Suzy! I appreciate the feedback. You may enjoy 'Tracy's Little Luxuries' video, here: th-cam.com/video/rspjSX5u9jQ/w-d-xo.html Also, check the drop down boxes below each video for more related content from me.
This was great! How do budget into the system like say Botox and other procedures? Also your so put together cant believe you have 5 daughters! how do you do it all? Can you do a video on that after? Like meals and cleaning schedule? Thanks ❤️
I'm finally developing a more strict budget. I have to figure out what is appropriate for the envelope and what should go into the Secondary Budget checking account since I do purchase so much online. I am finally feeling some peace and better control! Thank you Tracy, as always, so classy and informative.
Tracy, I am SO enjoying this series along with the snaps answering questions from the comments! This has been so helpful. My husband and I got paid Friday and we made our budget binder, set up our automated payments, and envelopes. Looks like we are ahead of the game! Looking forward to the next video
I love this, Emily! Than you for sharing! you are indeed .. ahead of the game. Kudos to you and your husband for putting in a TEAM Effort! Keep up the great work!
Tracy - thank you so much for sharing these videos. My very wise daughter uses this system and has been teaching me. There's a good lesson -- allow your children to teach you! Seriously, I think your videos and snaps are so encouraging and I want you to know how much I appreciate you.
Exceptional video! I thought I was pretty good at budgeting but did not have had secondary bills system figured out! Now I do! I feel so much more organized and at peace! Thank you so much!
Lol the whole"late breath" speech reminded me of Dave Ramsey :). I'm so glad you are sharing this information it has a more chic and modern feeling to the message. Thank you :)
OMG I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL THE ENVELOPE SYSTEM VIDEEEEOOOOOOOO, TRACYYYYY!!!! Okay, sorry just had to get that out of my system, lol- love your videos girl
Just very like all Your videos! They give me so much inspiration and energy. Thank you for what You doing! I would like to see your morning routine. I think having our nice mornings are very important in all our days and live. It would be very interesting to see how you can organise your morning routine. Thank you.
So appreciative of this message. Beautifully spoken. I am anxious, as eve to get out my Morning Routine, Nighttime Routine and believe it or not ... my Sunday Evening Routine.
I also add my coupons to my groceries envelope and the money that is left goes into my savings. It’s only a few dollars here and there but it adds up. I put change of any purchase using the round up to a dollar been doing this for years. I got over 15k saved emergency money :)
Great question, Pamela! Although we still use cash for many of our envelopes, it makes sense that many would be uncomfortable. A fantastic option is the apps out there with the same concept. Some of our children use the app method. I don't handle the cash in our envelopes. Handling the cash would mean that I am spending it vs. saving it. That would be the biggest error a person would have to be careful of in making a mistake. Hope this helps. Whatever you choose, good luck! Stay well and stay safe!
@@TracyHensel thank you! I’m working through all the steps of redoing our budget, hoping to have things in good working order by Dec 1! The homework has been more complicated than I thought but so worth it. Blessings Tracy xoxo

Hi Tracy, Thank you for all the info that you share with us. Because I do not like carrying cash, my version of the envelope budgeting system is having 4 separate bank accounts with a debit card and checks for each account for the main categories in my budget: Account 1: Fixed Expenses = Rent, Car Payment, Car Insurance, Tithing, Electric, Gas (Cooking), Life Insurance, Internet, Cellphones. Account # 2 Irregular Expenses = Christmas, Back to School shopping, Car Registration ( I used to pay my car insurance every 6 months and this is where I would park the money, but I changed carriers and I pay monthly now). Account #3 Flexible Spending = Groceries, Gas for Car, Gifts, Hair/Nails, Subscriptions, My allowance and Miscellaneous OMG I forgot to budget for expense. Account #4 Short term Savings - Travel, Summer Camp for my son and Educational Expenses like Conferences and Seminars for me.
Tracy are you going to address bonuses, tips and/or money earned above and beyond regular income? My hubby always tells me, “you earned that”...he earns a yearly bonus as well and mine are piddling compared to his but I feel it’s a very grey area of income earned.
I get what you are talking about but what you are saying is that we have to have 1 1/2 of the amount of money for quite a while to build up the money for the bills?! Am I understanding? For example my bills are $1000/month and I have to set aside $500/every 2 weeks and also the $1000. What if after all of the primary bills are paid we don’t have enough to completely cover the bi monthly bills?
You don' necessarily need to have the extra money. Ge the bills paid, and scale back in other areas until you can get your envelopes built up. It is a process at first. My husband and I recently worked with a young couple and it took them a few months to have enough to start filling all the envelopes. Now they are smooth sailing. You will have to go without some of the luxuries, at first. It will be worth it.
Tracy Hensel thank you. That is what I thought and I am definitely going to try this. My husband and I make pretty good money but blow a lot of it mindlessly.
It seems to me like an extra months funds have to be in the sub-account so that there is adequate money for the auto bills to be paid. Example: If one is paid once a month and that direct deposit is made on the first and the mortgage is due on the first, you would need the money there earlier so that the mortgage payment is not made before funds are transferred to the sub-account, correct?
Tracy I'm a tad bit lost...a sub account? Do I go to the bank and asked them to add this to what I already have? is that it? I'm hung up right there honey. Not sure what a sub account is I guess. I get its purpose but I don't know where to get a sub account I guess is the hang up for me. I love this series. One thing I've learned so far is to make my mind over. How I think about money. Live below my means. I have expensive taste on a shoestring income. I've never allowed myself to live less. Everything had to be the best I thought I deserved it. I'm telling you my students loans are going to choke me. I wish i never got them. its ok because I'm going to learn a new way to do things thanks to you ♥
You need your own talk show!!!! You’re so great Mrs. Hensel! ❤️❤️❤️
Thank you, Gina!! That would be great!!
These videos continue to be helpful and instrumental. I reference (this and other series you’ve made) regularly! Thank you!

Adding your coupons to your envelopes is a good idea. As well as saving your change. It's too easy to just spend it.
That's a great idea ! Thank you
❤ thank you!
That's exactly how I do it, and it helped me maintain excellent credit score so far. Thank you for educating videos! I'll forward it to my daughter.
I really want to thank you for these series you are doing, they are a God sent for me and really educational. Xx 😍😍

This os SO helpful!!!!! Please keep doing this...and thank you SO much!:)
I need this. Thank you. Very smart.
Can you do this with a savings account? I don't have a checking.
Since we are now in COVID and people aren’t wanting to use cash would you perhaps have an updated option rather than envelopes?
Great question, Pamela! Although we still use cash for many of our envelopes, it makes sense that many would be uncomfortable. A fantastic option is the apps out there with the same concept. Some of our children use the app method.

Thank you for sharing, Brenda! Wonderful system. I am not a cash carrier, either. Love my debit card! I would be lost without it!

We can, and we too have bonuses, profit sharing, etc. It's all still income. But yes, that is a great topic to hit on.
