Thanks for the games Kai 😊 no need to fear much of any counter magic with Cascade being the main theme of the deck as they are terrible to hit off those triggers and especially when I lose out on most of the decent ones by running Keruga as a companion, but I do run maybe 2 of the modal spell effects that "could" have counterspell attached I want to say. I’ve said it a million times playing with and against Maelstrom Wanderer but you can cast modal counter cards in cascade decks. Cards like Mystic Confluence, Cryptic Command and Sublime Epiphany are card we could see in cascade decks. Always worth trying to play around just in case.
@@tribalkai yep I'm for sure on Mystic Confluence and could see being on the other two easily, my list is basically a 1 for 1 copy of what I built out of my paper bulk after picking up an etched Imoti and running with the Keruga idea besides having to trim the couple big MDFC cards and I think Aesi for online budget concerns maxing out the rental service I currently use. I had most of it laying around from playing Maelstrom Wanderer back in the day too and definitely agree :)
I run both Cryptic Command and Mystic Confluence in my Yidris deck. I don't own a Sublime Epiphany, and I'm not even sure it'd make the deck, at 6 mana that's very steep. Other counters that *could* be run in a cascade deck are Arcane Denial, Dream Fracture, Mana Drain, Plasm Capture, though obviously they're liable to still mess you up.
@@ClassicMagicMan the main attraction to Sublime Epiphany in my list is the fact it can cascade itself and will very rarely actually cascade into it so I did consider it but decided I just like the playstyle of slamming bomb after bomb and wanted to play a couple inside joke meme cards for my playgroup so that slot disappeared lol and I don't love Cryptic here either, surprisingly hitting a bounce effect that cantrips off a cascade still doesn't feel very good tbh whereas Mystic Confluence can bounce multiple threats if I need it to or worst case scenario be a free Ancestral Recall I hit off of cascade. I love how many interpretations a deck like this can take though, and feel like Imoti is slept on around my area lol

I often use Cryptic Command oftentimes to tap down all opponent's creatures to clear the way for Yidris, since he needs to hit to gain cascade. In Imoti I can certainly see Sublime Epiphany being great, like you said, it'll cascade itself and you'll rarely cascade into it. In my Yidris list Imoti is just barely on the chopping block, it's a shame. Most of the time it's just a 3/1 with a touch of value added to it. She really needs to helm her own deck. The only natural cascade cards in my Yidris are Maelstrom Wanderer and Apex Devastator.
I managed to pull kodama and sakashima from this set and I was actually upgrading my Aesi deck when I thought of Kodama and Sakashima to go into the 99, when I was sleeving up I realised that I could put so much more versatility and power in the command zone with the partners. It's disgustingly powerful for a 70percent precon deck and the deck is built around aesi not them. It's interesting to see just how wild the deck can be with more optimised cards but this is actually very similar to the aesi precon, loads of ramp, tatyova/aesi cloning for refilling the hand and then 'permanent-fall' to victory lol
Looking at that cascade general, do you think we could make a all cascade deck with cascade cards and clones-copy cards? It'd be interesting to see it chain off.
I might have had a little bit of payback that could be featured in the future, we'll see 🤷♂️ but my list is spicy and has a bit of a gimmick alternate wincon inside that is a big reason why I run Keruga as a companion. Had a lot of success with Imoti in paper early on and decided to bring her online. I do run a few clone effects that double as being abusive with Cascade 😊 it regularly tries to chain off and be the threat on board needing dealt with, unfortunately this game my two free 7 card hands were landless somehow and my 6 was a 1 lander so I was in rough shape from the start, a rare deal there.

4:07 and 5:03 It's a dumb line, but selvala does filter/produce mana, so you could have had tatyova out a turn sooner, and also casted that cultivate Edit: and I feel like a big dummy yet again as you point it out yourself at 5:08
Also if you play labman try putting the simic bounce land in the deck, it with tatyova and kodama x2 win you the games, at least it will draw you all the cards you want

Also had you paid attention he had 3 tatyova the 3rd he could have cloned kodama and got there quicker after. Especially after hitting the regal and great henge.
