In the first 3-4 Sonic games for the Genesis/32X? I mean sure you technically do have to stop a bit on your first playthrough but you can get right back into goin fast or choose to more thoroughly explore or go for another route on the larger levels, but it's just an option you have and an enticing one because of the straightforward, fun movement of those games. Meanwhile Literally every 3d Mario game since 64 is THE definition of fluid constant movement in platforming especially when compared with 3D Sonic which has consistently been a slog with terrible level design and yes I'm including both Sonic Adventure games and 07.

This was the last Sonic game I played, back when I was 16. 18 years later and I STILL play it whenever I can with my son. He's 6 years old now and if it wasn't for him, I would've forgotten I had my old PS2 in my attic, let alone this game.

You seriously judged a cartoon platformer, with a focus on forward momentum, for having nonsensical placement in it's level design? Your other criticisms fine, people are pretty divided about this game anyways. It's not that you don't like it that set me off. It's that you made such a petty remark and your style, while usually humorous and enjoyable in how over the top and goofy you act in other videos, just comes across as petty and childish. If you don't like the game fine, but don't stoop to the same level as the most vocal sonic fans.

Anyone else think Peebz was a little too harsh on this one? Even when he said the variety of levels was pretty good he glossed over that and went straight for criticizing the logic. Also the music in this game was amazing.
Agreed, this is my favourite Sonic game. I wish people weren't so harsh about it. I really like PBG, but I wish he had at leat one nice thing to say about it, like the OST.

He thinks that this game is about going fast... when it actually isn't. 2d Sonics had much platforming and weren't *that* fast. Sonic Heroes actually catches this and is one of the average good Sonic games. Only the fact that you must replay the game 4 times to beat makes the game a little worse.

Honestly, all the characters after Knuckles need to be gone. Permanently. Tails and Knuckles should only need their abilities for secret areas and stuff, and all the regular parts of a level should be trying to stay fast like PBG said

***** No, not really. Instead of Tails and Rouge being copies, now Rouge and Knuckles are copies, Eggman and Tails are copies, and Shadow ans Sonic are still copies but at least with them that's the point. Also they all still run fast.
The only reason you don't see the same amount of repetition is that Sonic Adventure 2 only has two teams of people, instead of four.
I'm saying that each character should be vastly different from each other. Or at the very least a start would be to differentiate their speeds in the games.
I know from experience that rail grind levels + bounce thingy = nightmares. If you move in mid air at all you fall to your death because of the tiny hit box of the rails.

To be honest, the games have been over-hyped to the point where if you hear about them before playing them, you will be disappointed so much that its not even funny. Additionally, Sega has been known for the inconsistent quality within the Sonic games, even by fans of the series, so they could simply be playing different games from the ones that made you fall in love with the series.
It could be worth noting that PBG actually enjoyed he fast paced parts when playing as Sonic, it was more Tails and Knuckles that he didn't like.
