About howl's moving castle and the scarecrow prince: Idk what's exactly said in the English version during the scene where the curse is broken, but in French, it's said that the curse had to be broken by a kiss from a lady in love! I always understood it like sophie is in love, not with the scarecrow, but with howl, and it's enough to break the curse
The way I remembered the English scene is that the curse had to be broken by the woman HE loved but she didn't necessarily have to love him back. I guess I'll have to go back and rewatch it

The Witch of the Waste's line (at least in the official English dub) is "I know that spell! A kiss from your true love breaks it." The kiss works because Sophie IS the Prince's true love... but Sophie doesn't love him back. The Prince knows this and has accepted it, which is why he just stands there with that expression as Sophie runs off to Howl. A few moments later the Witch says to the Prince "Looks like your true love is in love with someone else" and the Prince replies, with a sad smile, "One thing you can always count on is that hearts change. So as soon as this war is over, I shall return." You could either interpret this as the Prince saying he is still hopeful that Sophie will fall in love with him one day, OR that he knows his own heart will eventually change and he'll find a new true love. Personally, as sad as this moment is, I prefer the latter interpretation because it would be a very mature way for the Prince to handle his broken heart and would mean that the filmmakers had a much more realistic take on "true love" than we normally get.
I really like it when Erin makes this style of video. I watch it when I'm at home studying as I can't go to uni and it's like she's my friend keeping me company while I work on intersection traffic analysis
Regarding the scarecrow in Howl’s moving castle, in the french version of the movie, it is said that the curse have been broken since he has been kissed by « a lady in love » (une jeune fille amoureuse). Sophie is in love with Howl that why she broke the curse with her kiss 🤗
oh how interesting! Despite the English version saying "true love's kiss," I always interpreted it the way it is spoken in the French version- that Sophie was in love/had found her true love with Howl, so her kiss was effective in breaking the spell.

Imo the English version's "only true love can break the curse" didn't clarify that it was probably Turnip's true love, but not Sophie's. Based on the original Japanese version, the Witch says that the curse was broken from the kiss of the one he loved, yet Sophie decides to be with Howl, aka unrequited love for Turnip. The Witch then says something about how who Sophie loves is clear (from her confessing to Howl), so Turnip should go home, and he decides to back off. Turnip saying he'll come back after the war is over is basically him returning to see if Sophie still feels the same way after time has passed, since there's a line Turnip says about how people always have fickle hearts and change their mind. Tldr, RIP turnip
The spell never was broken, she had to live with it. Let me explain, the physical image of Sophie, reflects how she thought of herself, she didn't see herself as a beautiful person, so she was an old lady with grey hair. That is why when she was sleeping, her toughts were "silent", and she was not old anymore in that timelapse.
As soon as she was falling in love with Howl, she started to change, to revealing the beauty of her heart and self confidence.
So that is why when she was confident loving Howl and having his love back to her, she was beautiful and young AND having grey hair still.

Ooooh Howl's Moving Castle is really good but I'll always have a soft spot for Princess Mononoke, it's one of my favorite movies. I've never gotten around to reading the book though, I'll have to read it sometime

My favourite is Arrietty
The book of Howl's moving castle is super cute and it explains so much better the story. It has a different plot from the film even though the characters are similar and many things that happen are kinda the same. But it is really different.
I know a lot of people love Princess Mononoke but I honestly didn't like it so much. My favorites are these:

2. Spirited Away
3. Kiki's Delivery Service
4. The Secret World of Arietty
5. My neighbor Totoro
The book is super funmy. Sophie really has some attitude. And there’s no war whatsoever. A few characters are a little different, as well as the overall ending.

I hesitate to put blades near my eyebrows (even though I want an eyebrow slit), due to the fact that in sixth grade, when my best friend got her hands on a razor to shave her legs, she still doesn't know how, but she ended up shaving off about a third of her left eyebrow. Her eyebrows are very light colored though (she's blonde), so her eyebrow already didn't stand out too much from her skin, she also parted her hair in a way that would cover the eyebrow. I wouldn't have noticed if we hadn't been studying together for history class. I read in my text book something about how many ancient Egyptians would shave off their eyebrows to grieve the death of their cat. I found this interesting. I looked up at my friend to share this fun fact, but since I had recently read the word "eyebrows", eyebrows were on my mind, so when I looked up at my friend, I suddenly saw the damage that she did to her eyebrow. I then proceeded to ask her if her cat died, even though she didn't have a cat to the best of my knowledge.

@@yoitzstorm2131 id say bluetooth because that's what i use but the only headphones ive seen you could possibly comfortably sleep with are those headphones that are literally ear-shaped and wrap around your ears with bluetooth connection...i can't remember what they're called but they're wacky and i might try them in the far future

tiramisu is my favourite pudding, I used to have it as my birthday cake lol. also yes I love the ol' eyebrow trim, the trick I've found is to cut downwards, as if you were thinning out the ends of your hair with diagonal cuts instead of cutting straight across.
I fully expect that one day Erin will end up on television. Or she will become Queen of the World. One of the two.
