David actually killed someone too when he was younger; he was involved in a hit and run. he told his mom about it, so she went out and moved the body into a swamp. David was arrested but was only charged with leaving the scene without attempting to help the victim. he got away with murder, so that must've taught him and Robert that they could do whatever they wanted :/ the saddest part is, the hit and run victim wasn't killed by getting struck with a car; he drowned in the swamp that the mother dragged him into. if David had just called an ambulance, the boy could've survived.

I live in Vancouver. That story is so heartbreaking. For years the police did nothing, though it was common knowledge that indigenous women were being picked off one by one. It was absolutely appalling. If there had been white women from the west side going missing at the rate that those first nation women were disappearing, the outcry would have been unbelievable. The families were left to search alone year after year. And they left out huge numbers of them from the prosecutions, so those family's never got their day in court. My high school was on Pickton property! The school and other developments rented the space from them. A few years after everything went down, I was working a town away, and I remember getting a sick feeling in my stomach, and a sense that something wasn't right. A customer walked in and my coworker assisted him. Part of our job included ID-ing people to send money transfers, payday loans, etc. My coworker came to the back white as ghost and asked "do u know who that man is??" It was the brother of Robert Pickton who is apparently too mentally incompetent to be held accountable but very much still involved in the proven crimes. Listen to your gut feelings!

Dr Sleuth agreed! Some commenter recently complained about his jokes regarding the gruesome details on some of these videos...I think it's an effective technique to help us digest the horror, without being too depressed about it !
I remember when the mother of one of the victims said that her daughter had gone missing that she told the Canadian Authorities going on at that there was something on at THAT Pig Farm, sadly she was ignored.
God bless those poor women. This one hit me different. They were takin to young. May they find peace in heaven. Thank you Mike for saying their names and showing their pictures. Very respectful
Quick correction about the brother. He didn't live on the farm itself. The Pickton family got pretty wealthy because they had a lot of land in an area that was rapidly developing in the cheaper suburbs of Vancouver. They sold off a lot of the property, which is how they were literally millionaires. Moreover, the farm itself wasn't like, some rural location, it was (at the time) barely on the edge of town, and there were a ton of residences around it. Anyway, as for the correction, the brother lived on another piece of land they hadn't sold off, maybe a couple of minutes away (mere blocks). That's very much the reason why he was able to claim ignorance. In all likelihood, it wasn't a secret what Willie was doing. Fun story, David still owns the land. It's much cleaner now, looks more like a bunch of empty soccer fields now. The forensic investigation functionally razed the land. David has since put up new fencing and has attempted to commercialize the land for cattle grazing (and has been). There is a bit of a legal battle brewing about it, as the land itself may or may not have been put up as collateral for the investigation and trial and such. Also, the land value has gone up considerably as the area has gentrified and urbanized, obviously increasing the taxes and such. Also, because David hasn't exactly been clear about the land use, sometimes claiming it's personal, other times commercial, the city of Port Coquitlam is fighting to just claim the land for themselves to develop in to much more lucrative housing land. The whole situation is as messy as the farm was. Anyway, yeah. The whole story is pretty crazy. It's kinda eerie to look at the area now versus then, knowing where the buildings were. You never get a real sense for where this stuff was happening when looking at news footage and such, but this whole thing happened in a very residential area. It's incredible he got away with it for as long as he did, because he was really hiding in plain sight. That said, he had a lot of help from police. The lack of cooperation between Vancouver police and the RCMP was staggering, and the fact that basically none of the decision makers wanted to invest time or money in it because they were "just prostitutes" was pretty horrifying. Good show etc.

The brother should've definitely been questioned given that he's a sexual predator. That's probably why he went to Africa. A lot of these predators will go over there or to Asia to abuse women and girls

The jury should be a cross section of Canadian society. Their verdict probably has some parallels in their competence as voters. This should clarify some of the inherent flaws of democracy and the resulting leadership. It's not the government's fault, it's the people's fault. When stupidity is allowed its contribution...,then anything is possible.
It is common in cases with multiple victims to only charge some, whether there are two or forty nine. There are two primary reasons. The first is how strong is the evidence for each victim. If the evidence is weak for some, there may be concern that may lead a jury to lean towards not guilty on all. Second, if a jury returns not guilty on the first trial, there are additional charges that can prevent them from going free...a back up plan. Once a secure conviction is obtained, the massive cost of additional prosecution can drain away resources needed to put away the next one.
3:42 that picture is of Dawn Crey not Wendy Eistetter. She's featured in a movie called Finding Dawn which talks about this case. My wife grew up a few miles from the piggy palace and actually attended one of those parties when she was in high school. Picktons had a major connection with the Hell's Angels. My wife told me they had a big presence at those parties and supplied all the drugs. And when the news broke, everyone knew they were getting Pickton to dispose of bodies at the pig farm. EDIT: And there was one worse part. It's theorized that everyone in the region had, at some point, eaten human flesh mixed with pork, as his plant was a major supplier of pork in the area. :/

Also important foot note : I was a vegetarian at that time this all went down . *thx god*
Also the other related thing is years later when I was in college I house/ dog sat for my mom’s friend that was in China for over a month. I was already creeped out being all alone in a strange place and taking the dog out one night after watching Scream across the way from the townhouse was covered in cops and they were rolling out the “do not cross “ tape, taping off the field”. Then not long after that it hit the the news that that property was part of the pickton farm and the investigation had just started. I was fully freaked out by it and always honestly feel sickened by the story so you can imagine my shock finding out that I had actually been to that farm during the time of the murders 😳.

My dad has met this man and was even invited to one of his infamous “parties”. It is tragic how someone can commit such atrocities for so long because of some perceived low value of his targets within our society. And we can not forget the glaring inadequacies of the greater Vancouver police force nor their own bias towards the beaten and downtrodden people within the sex trade. Many of the deceased were Indigenous women, who were just that much easier to make disappear as Canada and the RCMP have a history of turning a blind eye to the Indigenous Peoples that call this land home.

Common Sense says the brother was involved too. Any man with a shred of decency would have reported it to the authorities. He didn’t.
David actually killed someone too when he was younger; he was involved in a hit and run. he told his mom about it, so she went out and moved the body into a swamp. David was arrested but was only charged with leaving the scene without attempting to help the victim. he got away with murder, so that must've taught him and Robert that they could do whatever they wanted :/
the saddest part is, the hit and run victim wasn't killed by getting struck with a car; he drowned in the swamp that the mother dragged him into. if David had just called an ambulance, the boy could've survived.
Word “around town” is that he very much is involved and is still currently threatening women and people that try to bring attention to the Pickton issues

Shameful racism against indigenous people is not at all uncommon in Canada. Remember Colten Boushie?

So she was a unknowing cannibal basically.
What I've learned from Mike, the cops give zero fs until *they* start looking bad unless it's one of their own...then it's the *full force of the law* 🤔
He literally sounds and looks like a serial killer. Like if there was a caricature drawing of what a cartoon serial killer looks like, he'd show up.
Yes. He is looks exactly as is. We constantly get told "don't judge a book by its cover". Not in this case.
One of the investigating officers left his place and said he realized "Wow. That guy REALLY looks like a serial killer!" And then proceeded to do not much at all. I love Canada but this is something that makes me ashamed of us.
Yeah, definitely has that predatory vibe....just f**king evil. Like thank God he never reproduced. That bloodline needs to end with him & his brother.
Harold and Kumar went to White Castle movie... freak show... that’s exactly what he looked like
So yoyall know exactly what a serial killer look like.
Wow we're all saved lol
No.
Some are really good looking and seems normal. You can't rel anyone's personality on their looks. Look at all the influensers on Instagram. Because you look "good" don't mean your good.
What a stupid comment, why bother to reply...
Great Mike... Keep em' coming. Need these while bored shitless with this isolation bollocks..!!
Thanks Jay, will do!
Same here! His content is making this self quarantine for myself & family here in Dallas, Texas bearable for me. 🤷♀️
@@summertime5274 I'm further South, in McAllen. Are things bad for you guys?
SummerTime I am stuck here in San Antonio Texas. I grew up in Dallas. I hope y’all are keeping healthy.
@@Linda-k5d6d ?? In what way..?
My dad has met this man and was even invited to one of his infamous “parties”. It is tragic how someone can commit such atrocities for so long because of some perceived low value of his targets within our society. And we can not forget the glaring inadequacies of the greater Vancouver police force nor their own bias towards the beaten and downtrodden people within the sex trade. Many of the deceased were Indigenous women, who were just that much easier to make disappear as Canada and the RCMP have a history of turning a blind eye to the Indigenous Peoples that call this land home.
cool didnt happen
R.P=disposer H.A =supplier
RCMP =complicit
Yes... we have a lot to make up for
@@FF-he2nv it did happen, there were hundreds of people there
Love your sense of sarcasm/humor taken in these terrible situations. No disrespect to the victims, you make a good point about many things in these cases. .
THANK YOU FOR BRINGING UP THE HIGHWAY OF TEARS❤️❤️❤️❤️ as a Canadian I can’t stress how disappointed I am with our laws in relation to murder cases and missing persons cases.
This is so messed up. The fact he fed them to the pigs just freaks me out so much, I avoided watching this until I ran out of posts.
And the pigs to people... Sometimes human meat mixed with the tainted pork meat too... Crazy stuff man
@@kevdiggs8570 next time I'll skip the bbq ribs!!
it was absolutely sickening when it was going on. one after another after another and the police did nothing for years.
That's kinda poetic justice that the pigs got to eat people considering how many billions of innocent pigs we murder every year. Still fucked up though, poor people & god knows what those poor pigs went through to. This man is truly evil. But most people have lots blood on their hands, they just refuse to admit it or acknowledge it.
I'm vegetarian btw. I think all meat eaters are murderers & have blood on their hands. I hope you guys don't get into heaven which if God sticks to his words you shouldn't get entry but I think I will.for I'm empathic.
"helping people in Ghana" oh you mean a remote country with less police power???
Merp Derp Yup! Exactly! That was the first thing I said to myself and the first thing I was out loud was “oh God! Those poor people that he’s been probably killing too!”
Yea its clear they use charities as a way to get their victims... im sure the brother made sure he got that 5-0
Thanks France, the Pickton of West Africa.
This is the murder version of abusing children in the philipines
Merp Derp exactly. Doesn't seem suspicious at all
People
Are
Evil…
Mike, I have nothing but respect for you because you are so respectful of people who lose their lives. Many just forget those poor women, but you named them and made them exist to others…thank you for that. Also, to have such a great personality and still do these shows says a lot about a person. So glad I found ya!
"He was convicted of killing 6 women. But confessed to 49" wow. Good job justice system
And people were saying they knew there was a serial killer long before law enforcement investigated.
Innocent until proven guilty. If you don’t have evidence for them it doesn’t matter what number they say 🤷♂️
@@Zealolicious if they have the DNA of the women (found in small bits of bone found in the pig pen mind you). So maybe find out what you are talking about.
@@bellasmom2597 does finding a bone prove beyond a reasonable doubt he killed them?

I thought that was the actual logo lmao 🤷🏻♀️
Being an Albertan, we were absolutely sickened by this at the time. My son’s ex-girlfriend a few years back said her family bought products from him 🤢🤢🤢🤮
That's really crazy
I'd rather hear then not know.
OMG!
UPDATE: Robert Pickton died earlier this month at the age of 74 after being assaulted by another inmate while in prison.
I'm typically a pacifist, but evil people like this get off too easy. They had no conscious about their actions. Its horrendous. They should be tied up and fed to the pigs... But real slowly....
I am addicted to this “That Chapter “.
You actually named each of the women, that said so much about what you care about... Thank You for bringing those sorrows infront of us.
Thanks!
Thank tou for blessing us with content in theze boring ass quarantine times
I love how the more you despise these guys, the funnier you get. Great job! Sláinte!
Jeez! Just looking at him makes my skin crawl. It must have been a terrifying end for all those women.
Another story...my best friend's dad had a Pickton ham in his freezer when this story broke...he buried it in his backyard. WTH would they find if the cops dug it up now, 30 years later?
Nope.
Probably for the best.
My mother was a evidence handler on this case and unfortunelty willy is so stupid, his family is responsible and his friends who protected him he was a simple scapegoat and part of the problem. The justice system alone made the case impossible to progress forward especially when the families of the victims demanded money and not answers. There is a lot more to this story. Thanks for shining a little light on this story.
Yayyy my day just got better. Being quarantined I've caught up on most things. Thank you for your videos and the details you put into them.
Thank you!
Yup, only thing worse than being quarantined is being quarantined AND sick. Thanks for making me smile through the pain, Mike!
