Great video. I used both Q3 and V2 in parallel for comparison for 2 weeks, but decided to keep the V2. Blind tests with friends saw the V2 identified as smoothest every time and the additional features and compactness are just too good, especially being able to track in any app. Usually use it with a flex tripod, but for something to slip into a pocket in case I find a good shot the neat size is indispensable - and I manage ok despite having huge hands and a big phone lol, works well with 'pro' (manual) settings on the Samsung native camera app
Very informative, as usual. Thank you for being such a big influence on my goal to be able to shot with confidence. My goal is to be at a point where I say to myself, “this would be a great shot” and shot the video/picture instead of where I’m at now at “how do I shot a great shot”.
I filmed my last 3 videos with iPhone 12 Pro max and DJI OM4. however I used the native camera app so the stabilisation is great. Also I find that the magnetic clamp makes it so easy to just pop it on and off and keep in my pockets in comparison to having to reattach and balance every time I want to get a shot.

I unfortunately don’t know what is their latest one…. If you go to their website I’m sure you’ll find out. If you are not sure about the gimbal you can always try something else

I wanted to buy a gimbal and have been contemplating between the Hohem or Zhiyun, I totally agree with you that Hohem works better if you just want to pop the phone and shoot. I am not a pro videographer, I just want to capture the moment without the hassle of setting up the programs or editing the videos

You do such a fine job with these videos! I don't love my DJI, (partly because I have the Samsung Note 20, which is a little too big) but no reason to switch yet. Would love to marry the features of the Hohem with the DJI. Maybe next year!

I’ve a one simple question for you, is Zhiyun S. Q3 now your daily gimbal for your videos? You know, it’s a very common way of behaviour that people take side and support with the weak one but deep inside they prefer the global one… (player, team, director, you name it)… I’ve seen many many content creators telling Samsung is better than iPhone but tweeting this with “twitter for iphone”, insta360 One R is better GoPro but still using GoPro as their daily device… Your review sums up and directs to Zhiyun S Q3. Was that an honest opinion (I felt so), and if so, are you using it whenever you need a gimbal? Or just as an old habit, are you stuck with OM4? Regarding your answer, I’ll hit “buy” :) Thx.
I’m happy to see that there’s someone who actually is thinking logically. Q3 is new and I would prefer it as it is more stable. I am going to fully use it once they figure out counterweights situation. They are also working on getting it’s compatible with Filmic Pro. Until that happens OM 4 is still the choice but I don’t prefer it. I have to use it most of the time as 99% of my subscribers require these videos to use it. When I use some thing else they don’t wanna watch it much…., DJI has incredible marketing 😉
@@halukartan You are very welcome.If you’re going to be filming an automatic mode then you are good to go. If you want to film in manual mode he might have a little problem with balancing the gimbal as they found that adding some counterweights might not be a good thing…. But they are still trying to figure things out maybe there is a solution
i most probably will be shooting manually but since i dont use extra lens and a cover to mount the lens as you do, weight wont be an issue for me, i hope 🤞🏻 the only thing i may attach is my rode wireless go ii receiver and im looking for o-ring clamp or something i attach between tripod and gimbal… active track footage was extra ordinary in your video so my plan is to place the gimbal & move away as im telling my stroy, content, etc as the gimbal follows me… (i just bought the gimbal a few minutes ago btw)
I just subscribed and love the content you’re providing. I’ve recently started doing real restate photography on the side just using my smartphone and drone. I want to start providing the option for doing video walkthroughs of houses. I’ve purchased the DJI OM 5 but started researching other options just because I’m still within my return period. Is there any one you’d recommend specifically for Home Walkthrough videos? The Smooth Q3 & iSteady V2 also looks like great options but I’m torn. It’s also worth nothing I’m going to be getting an iPhone 13 Max soon as well if that makes a difference in your recommendation. Thanks in advance!

I unfortunately don’t know your phone so I cannot suggest. They always have compatibility lists on their websites so it is good to check once you like a certain gimbal. Best wishes

Thanks Zdenka. I have the Osmo 3. Is the magnet the only difference between the 3 and 4? I was thinking of upgrading, but not if it’s only the magnet that’s changed. What smartphone gimbal would you choose if you could only have one?
I have both models. I find the Osmo 3 to be a bit better for heavy phones and slightly easier to balance with counterweights. The better balanced gimbal will give the best results.
Q3 is newer has better functions….. I have deleted your other 2 comments as you asked the same under 3 different videos. No need to do that, I read all comments

I was very undecided when I started to study each one of them, because I'm very layman and the information is usually very limited... I live in Brazil and I'm going to use it for work, I'm realtor and I really need one that is practical, affordable and safe, so I decided to stick with Smooth Q3. After about 7 hours of research I managed to come to this conclusion hahaha, but I hope it's worth it...and again, Thank you!!

I don’t think you can make that happen for Q2. Each Gimbal has its own app unfortunately.. When it comes to which app to use I honestly don’t know your phone so I don’t know what will be the best option. Just try a few different options and see how you like the outcome
Great Review! I am looking at getting a Gimble as I want to get into VLOGGING. I am definitely 100% amateur and not a photographer or videographer and will probably being doing things Auto with my Note20 Ultra (Even though I should learn the video features). I keep coming back to the OM4 as the "Go-To" gimble for a lot of reviewers and rumors are out there that the "Hi Five" or maybe the OM5 is on the way? Maybe? My issue is all gimbles don't seem to have native Andriod support like the iPhone.
I unfortunately don’t have that phone so I cannot confirm those features… Moza should have it … Hohem as well but not DJI and I am not sure about Zhiyun

Just ordered mine hohem V 2 and was reading bunch off reviews that the AI was not tracking well at all and some units have motor heating issues and powering down after 2min of using. You have demonstrated the AI and seamed working just fine unless it was a fluke? Did you experience any issues with AI? Did you upgraded firmware which possibly solved somw issues somw ppl experienced? Ďakujem keep up the good work!

Hi Zdenka, I am a beginner and want to make Vlogs although nature and the city and educating Videos. I wanna go for DJI but the only concern is the magnetic clamp. Can my mobile fall ? I just don't wanna take that risk. I will be mainly using only a mobile phone (I phone 11 or 12 or 13) for the shoot. Due to falling reasons and stability, I am preferring Zhiyun. Could you please tell me if I am making the right choice? It would really help me
Thank you for your question. DJI clamp is very strong and you’re not going to lose the phone. Both gambles are good. Either way you go is a good choice.
Hi Zdenka, i loved your comparison of all 3 gimbals, very fair and balanced. You're a pro-Goddess when it comes to gimbals and i was like YESSS! when you pointed out your frustration with mode switching while using OM4. It is absolutely horrible, what DJI was thinking? You don't have to fiddle with the Mimo app all the time! Loved their magnetic clamp, but like you've pointed out...it is too damn snug on your phones! My OM4 sitting and collecting dust. One time, my Pixel 3XL jumped out from the clamp! Luckily it happened inside the house and landed on the bed. I'm never going to buy another DJI gimbal unless they put a mode-changing button like Zhiyun and fix the magnetic crap...opps phone clamp. 🤣🤣😆

Hi Zdenka, my smooth q3 arrived this morning I briefly used it last month also, there’s a common issue with Smooth q3 is it dies during firmware upgrade so I have a dead gimbal waiting for replacement. This is very common and I hope Zhiyun fix that, I think that is best smartphone gimbal on market right now, I used other 2 gimbal mentioned and I would like to correct you on ISteady X/ X2/ V2 has manual inception mode, you just need to change setting on app it was hard to find but was worth it, I have enjoyed iSteady better than OM4 and I highly recommended for first time gimbal user.

Nice presentation..but every gimbals are not perfect ..facecing many issues. but my personal opinion is DJI OM4 it will be the best option .. thanks for this kind of information you shared..
I'd be interested to see which gimbals you recommend that can take a heavy payload. My Xiaomi phone, anamorphic lens and ND filter come in at about 350 grams without any counter weight. It appears most gimbals in this range are only for the 250gm range. Thanks for your content!
Does any of these have inbuilt like vimble 2 selfie stick extension? If not please suggest one alternative to vimble 2. I want a gimble that have selfie stick and while the stick extension is on the gimble must support stabilization. So that i can produce my vlogs fully stabled and wider background. Pls care to reply with all detail info. Wud be thankful.
Does the Hohem iSteady V2 allow you to use your samsung native camera app and use the gimbal button to activate the record feature or do you have to use the hohem app in order to do that?

okkkk so thats why your tutorials from the dji om4 video was so shaky...i was really really confused....zdenka is such a pro why is the video so bad and shaky?? you answered it today thank you for showing us the real deal--- we sure want to find out what the gimbal alone is capable of. as for post editing, thats a different thing altogether and really not a good way to show off a gimbal's capabillities
I agree…. Unfortunately I saw lots of reviews which to me were fake. Q3 had big problems with stabilization at first as the app wasn’t finished. The reviewers still made the videos and faked stabilization in the post. I refused to review it and I waited until it was ready… then I posted the video. I was 1 week late from others
I agree the OM4 is not a bad one, we are sure will not become best friends. I just can not get the hang of it with OM4. So next I consider the FeiyuTech G6 MAX. Do you have a review for that one?
Unfortunately I requested that gimbal 3x for a review but they always stopped corresponding… I am starting to feel like they are hiding something.. lol… it is more complex gimbal which needs more time to stabilize

I'm surprised that if I have a SAMSUNG NOTE 10 PLUS - all the gimbles will not give the same features as an iPhone... Can you use an EXTERNAL MIC with any of the gimbles?

I will ride with my bike to the spots and need the gimbal ready fast. I want to film with Filmic Pro on my Android 12 Pixel Phone. Can anyone please test or confirm if the basic functions like record and zoom will work with the iSteady V2 in Filmic Pro on Android? I want to film in LOG and colorize in Post. So i need Filmic for LOG. I want the pan horizontally to be smooth. If the iSteady V2 will be fully compatible with Android and basic functions in Filmic Pro, i would take it, because the AI is interesting. But mostly i want a stable and smooth image experience (24p cinematic :) Thank you very much
Unfortunately every single android phone will be different. I unfortunately cannot answer your questions unless I can physically test your phone with this

i most probably will be shooting manually but since i dont use extra lens and a cover to mount the lens as you do, weight wont be an issue for me, i hope 🤞🏻 the only thing i may attach is my rode wireless go ii receiver and im looking for o-ring clamp or something i attach between tripod and gimbal… active track footage was extra ordinary in your video so my plan is to place the gimbal & move away as im telling my stroy, content, etc as the gimbal follows me… (i just bought the gimbal a few minutes ago btw)

I just subscribed and love the content you’re providing. I’ve recently started doing real restate photography on the side just using my smartphone and drone. I want to start providing the option for doing video walkthroughs of houses. I’ve purchased the DJI OM 5 but started researching other options just because I’m still within my return period. Is there any one you’d recommend specifically for Home Walkthrough videos? The Smooth Q3 & iSteady V2 also looks like great options but I’m torn. It’s also worth nothing I’m going to be getting an iPhone 13 Max soon as well if that makes a difference in your recommendation. Thanks in advance!

I unfortunately don’t know your phone so I cannot suggest. They always have compatibility lists on their websites so it is good to check once you like a certain gimbal. Best wishes

Thanks Zdenka. I have the Osmo 3. Is the magnet the only difference between the 3 and 4? I was thinking of upgrading, but not if it’s only the magnet that’s changed. What smartphone gimbal would you choose if you could only have one?
I have both models. I find the Osmo 3 to be a bit better for heavy phones and slightly easier to balance with counterweights. The better balanced gimbal will give the best results.

Hi, thank you very much for the video! thanks to you I managed to decide which gimbal to buy... I was very undecided when I started to study each one of them, because I'm very layman and the information is usually very limited... I live in Brazil and I'm going to use it for work, I'm realtor and I really need one that is practical, affordable and safe, so I decided to stick with Smooth Q3. After about 7 hours of research I managed to come to this conclusion hahaha, but I hope it's worth it...and again, Thank you!!

I don’t think you can make that happen for Q2. Each Gimbal has its own app unfortunately.. When it comes to which app to use I honestly don’t know your phone so I don’t know what will be the best option. Just try a few different options and see how you like the outcome

Great Review! I am looking at getting a Gimble as I want to get into VLOGGING. I am definitely 100% amateur and not a photographer or videographer and will probably being doing things Auto with my Note20 Ultra (Even though I should learn the video features). I keep coming back to the OM4 as the "Go-To" gimble for a lot of reviewers and rumors are out there that the "Hi Five" or maybe the OM5 is on the way? Maybe? My issue is all gimbles don't seem to have native Andriod support like the iPhone.

Just ordered mine hohem V 2 and was reading bunch off reviews that the AI was not tracking well at all and some units have motor heating issues and powering down after 2min of using. You have demonstrated the AI and seamed working just fine unless it was a fluke? Did you experience any issues with AI? Did you upgraded firmware which possibly solved somw issues somw ppl experienced?

Hi Zdenka, I am a beginner and want to make Vlogs although nature and the city and educating Videos. I wanna go for DJI but the only concern is the magnetic clamp. Can my mobile fall ? I just don't wanna take that risk. I will be mainly using only a mobile phone (I phone 11 or 12 or 13) for the shoot. Due to falling reasons and stability, I am preferring Zhiyun. Thank you for your question. DJI clamp is very strong and you’re not going to lose the phone. Both gambles are good. Either way you go is a good choice.

Hi Zdenka, i loved your comparison of all 3 gimbals, very fair and balanced. You're a pro-Goddess when it comes to gimbals and i was like YESSS! when you pointed out your frustration with mode switching while using OM4. It is absolutely horrible, what DJI was thinking? You don't have to fiddle with the Mimo app all the time! Loved their magnetic clamp, but like you've pointed out...it is too damn snug on your phones! My OM4 sitting and collecting dust. One time, my Pixel 3XL jumped out from the clamp! Luckily it happened inside the house and landed on the bed. I'm never going to buy another DJI gimbal unless they put a mode-changing button like Zhiyun and fix the magnetic crap...opps phone clamp. 🤣🤣😆

Hi Zdenka, my smooth q3 arrived this morning I briefly used it last month also, there’s a common issue with Smooth q3 is it dies during firmware upgrade so I have a dead gimbal waiting for replacement. This is very common and I hope Zhiyun fix that, I think that is best smartphone gimbal on market right now, I used other 2 gimbal mentioned and I would like to correct you on ISteady X/ X2/ V2 has manual inception mode, you just need to change setting on app it was hard to find but was worth it, I have enjoyed iSteady better than OM4 and I highly recommended for first time gimbal user.

They are both quite different. Think of water features you need and check compatibility list with your phone

I'd be interested to see which gimbals you recommend that can take a heavy payload. My Xiaomi phone, anamorphic lens and ND filter come in at about 350 grams without any counter weight. It appears most gimbals in this range are only for the 250gm range.

I agree…. Unfortunately I saw lots of reviews which to me were fake. Q3 had big problems with stabilization at first as the app wasn’t finished. The reviewers still made the videos and faked stabilization in the post. I refused to review it and I waited until it was ready… then I posted the video. I was 1 week late from others
I agree the OM4 is not a bad one, we are sure will not become best friends. I just can not get the hang of it with OM4. So next I consider the FeiyuTech G6 MAX. Do you have a review for that one?
Unfortunately I requested that gimbal 3x for a review but they always stopped corresponding… I am starting to feel like they are hiding something.. lol… it is more complex gimbal which needs more time to stabilize

Ahoj Zdenka, už si skúšala DJi OM5? Dlho som sa rozhodoval a nevedel som aký gimbals kúpiť, nakoniec som si povedal že počkám na DJi OM5, ale ako pozerám videa a recenzie nič moc menšia výdrž batérie a selfie tyč ma vôbec neoslovila.
Zatím bohužel odpovědi nemám. Včera jsem to objednala a teprve čekám až mi ho pošlou

I'm surprised that if I have a SAMSUNG NOTE 10 PLUS - all the gimbles will not give the same features as an iPhone... Can you use an EXTERNAL MIC with any of the gimbles?
You can use external mic if wired with most of them. It seems like Moza is the only one offering Bluetooth version

I will ride with my bike to the spots and need the gimbal ready fast. I want to film with Filmic Pro on my Android 12 Pixel Phone. Can anyone please test or confirm if the basic functions like record and zoom will work with the iSteady V2 in Filmic Pro on Android? I want to film in LOG and colorize in Post. So i need Filmic for LOG. I want the pan horizontally to be smooth. If the iSteady V2 will be fully compatible with Android and basic functions in Filmic Pro, i would take it, because the AI is interesting.
