This reminds me of the Janna Top Craze. People in Elos High and Low remarked it as troll and were dry heaving and coping with its success and why it wins (ie, enemy is brain dead, lucky, etc). League has been around long enough and people have learned its fundamentals and why the meta is the way it is, that they can't possibly fathom there are other viable and just as strong strategies outside of the norm. Overall, I attribute these ignorant comments to people who have no reason to believe they don't already know everything there is to know about League. But here we are, discovering something so far left field, that it's hard to wrap your head around and looks troll as fuck almost even from an objective stand-point.

Renata and Braum in one team, I guess engage is off the table for that game. Still I can see why people think it doesnt work. If a random person runs a support top in Gold they will most likely just get walked over since positioning and chaining crowd crontrol dont exist there. So it doest really matter that your Irealia mid is 0/9 at 15 min, she can still end the game 14/12 1v3 and win.

I'm still patiently waiting for the shield sion guide cause I've been slowly climbing out of silver by doing the level 1 cheese and doing the sunfire gargoyles build but I feel like I'm missing some crucial parts to the strategy and want to learn from the master himself

If you can't climb out of silver with Sion 90% chance you aren't aggressive and/or greedy enough. You have to be the Sion, be an aggressive juggernaut that just eats everything he sees regardless of enemy or team. Your only job is to murder the Nexus and the means to get there is his passive health scaling, his ability to split push and to fck everything up in team fights. Your only joy should be to hit max charge Q's and 3 man ults minimum, otherwise you're a sad panda. If you're going to be a wuss that cares about wussy silvers you don't deserve the Sion.

well that's what I thought was happening, you only look at the map for a second and if theyre on their way you then zone back in on whats going on in front of you.

are you having trouble to climb this season? I used to be a gold 2 player (my peak was actually plat 4 but I couldn't stay in that elo for very long), but this season I can barely keep myself in gold 4, it's so frustrating lmao
@@findout2655 I peaked P3 last season, but right now I literally can not get out of gold. Every time I'm 1-2 games away from promos to plat, I go on a cold streak. Making me go insane xD
@@findout2655 no, I just quit playing the game. I got tired of the toxicity, players who grief, start playing bad just 'cause something happened they don't like, or simply are just so much worse at the game compared to me because Riot's matchmaking system is so bad.
It's just not worth the time, energy and effort for me. I was Diamond back in the day.
@@galgrunfeld9954 I agree. Teams are never ballanced. Either your team or enemy team will have 1 or even 2 boosted fucks, by boosted I mean the guy is in Gold 4 but still can't dodge a single skillshot in lane, or he's facing aatrox and yuumi and decides to never buy anti-heal not even ignite
@@findout2655 something stupid about their matchmaking system IMO is that you get such teammates, your MMR drops, so if you lose you go to lower ELO and get more of them, or win, climb back up, get them again, and the cycle continues.
It's not that it's ALWAYS like that - obviously myself and other people have gotten to high ELO, and there are Masters Grandmasters and Challengers, but to me it's just not worth it - it's a very punishing system that you can do nothing about but play your best and try to be a good teammate, and if I need to put so much effort to overcome griefing, negativity and skill differences from other players, I'd rather just play something that depends on my own skill.

There is one combo that allows you to kill almost anyone from full hp with Ornn without the enemy laner expecting it. If the E goes off you are pretty much perna cc'ed until you are dead Q+ult+E+aa(if you are fast enough)+ult+aa(brittle)+w+aa(brittle)
the problem is renata can cancel the 2 ult from that and completely disengage.......
@@Frzned9x she can cancel you the moment you hit your first ult if she knows its coming, like i said, if Ornn is able to instantly E after calling the ult, the person who is doing the combo on is perma cc'ed.

At some point in the game, everyone will do enough dmg to one shot ppl but most times they lack the way to engage or ways to not get one shot by themselves. Picking a champ like Renata gives your team more ways to engage or save your carries which is win win, because u dont want to have like 4 carries and no way to engage.

Ornn demolishing just cause you're playing support just kinda shows how people think supports are weak....when in reality the reason an Ornn can usually destroy support champs is because they're underleveled on account of being bot.
That and ornn being ornn, capable of doing damage for the same reason he's tanky

I love off-role renata. I like playing her as adc with kraken (for dmg) into bloodthirster into either ie or rage made depending on if I need to go rank shredding or not. The lifesteal and damage adds so much value to her w, you either live a while in revival mode or just revive because you kill people, it’s amazinf
You know. I returned to playing after many years(s1-3 veteran, plat usually), I quite like changes they made. But just seeing this and previous video..This community has a cancer. And separate brain cancer. Watching your videos has brought me back into..thinking about strategy. Not only mechanics, but how to guide your team to good ideas. However in lower elo, you need to pick worse ideas that everyone would go for, instead of forcing 4 other people into changing their ideas. Thanks for food for thought. You earned a sub.

Hey Tilt, I just wanted to say you make great and valid points during that rant. Honestly, just think that people are so attuned to being a meta slave that they just assume things don't work, because they aren't willing to put in the effort and work it.
Love the gameplay videos and the thought process behind it.
Quite refreshing to see someone else play renata top, ill say that I dont play ranked, but I have played quite a few games with her top. (got m7 with here there, practically free s+ every game)
I found that originally I was trying grasp but it just wasnt that good, gave phase rush (shield bash with secondary) a try and it helped with just having even more safety, or chase if you need it later when you get items.
Id recommend giving it a try, typically id build everfrost, but sometimes its nice to go frostfire gauntlet when you need to be more tanky, demonic embrace second, usually by then the game is over (typically with a surrender from either team) but cosmic drive into lich bane (tbh still testing build order here) after that seems to work really well to stack even more movespeed with phase rush, lucidity boots for cooldown ofc. Most of my games take quite a passive role, im not the best at carrying directly, but im really good at racking up assists with this build (about the same as the support, if not more, each game if I dont just get stomped).
Id like to reiterate for anyone here still reading this wall, I dont play ranked, I play this game for the mechanics and just to have fun, my internet is crap and im not going to subject people to me playing renata top with 100-200 ping (that spikes to 1k randomly) just because I find it fun, even if id like to think im quite good with her at this point.
This build was optimized for my playstyle and that typically is to carry the team through supporting them, I just find that not playing in the support role leads to me dying quite a bit less (3-5 each game) because I only need to worry about keeping myself alive. (p.s. I perma ban renekton bc he can just kill you with his weird dash stun whatever thing, I dont play him I dont know what exactly he does, but your Q does not stop him in time, at least not with my ping and reaction time, so its basically a guaranteed loss)
Edit: Forgot to mention, dorans ring to start for mana (used to build tear into winters approach, but I found that the extra mana wasnt necessary)
Once you get a bit of ap, you can clear casters with q throw into e so you can push wave faster if they decide to leave lane to do whatever bc typically I play under my tower for the extra safety. (teleport helps with this too)
Also, you dont need gold on renata, just the xp, realistically I only need everfrost for the extra root to do well, all other items are a bonus, I tend to try and give as much gold as I can to whoever is carrying the game to increase any lead they might have.
Other tips would be that if you throw a minion into a champion you still get the extra stun and damage, witch can be extremely useful if the enemy dosent expect it or tries to stay behind wave for safety. I start E (max first) then q then w, if they play extremely passive and you arent getting ganked, take a second point in e at lvl 3, it helps a lot with early trades and can be really helpful at early farming/trades.
IGN is Wïntêr (NA) for anyone curious, again, id like to say that I dont play league to be good at it, I play it to have fun, so im not usually tryharding. im only putting my IGN so people can see what ive tried building before so if someone wants to try it they can have some idea of what worked for me or what ive tested before.

Have you thought of situationally getting a spell thief's mid game to maximize giving your carries resources while still getting golf and being able to have perma presence for teamfights? I do this sometimes on Karma top.

Riot nerfed the Gold If you have 2 or more suport items.
@@Tilterella I feel like you could profit from it, Spellthief's has useful stats but most of all you can funnel your waves into your carries without losing as much income, and you'll pretty much instantly get the upgrade since you fight all the time. It's a very good strat for laning supports who group a lot that also allows for fed carries to get fatter from waves and anyone who shat the bed in laning phase to take your place in the side while you group.

at around 14:00 when you took herald but weren't able to get the eye because they were fighting you, you can use the hexgate to take the eye because for some reasonyou can still take it during hexgate transportation

I don't know if anyone has mentioned this, but Renata's Q gets nothing from leveling it up besides 45 damage per rank. It's much more worth it to level W 2nd as it gets lower CD and higher AS + MS.

Holy shit that Rek'sai is making me cringe. Like dude knew he wasn't in range of the Orrn but unborrowed anyway meaning that he couldn't get off the last prey seeker to finish the kill. Not to mention the Orrn was pinged a billion times but instead he goes to check the blue buff first then complains that you didn't wait for him when you got engaged upon. I mean the thing about tilterella picks working in high elo is because he is really good with it, but besides that the recent bot dragon meta favors top picks like his (sion seju Renata and such) but in the other side he did it against ornn that is one of the best toplaners in recent meta so I don't get if anyone questions this right.
If it's the tp nerfs the survivability patch or any other changes the recent meta favors his unique picks and playstyle and on top of that he used those picks before they were good so credit given when credits due

I think it should have difficulty dealing with splitpusher Champs like yorick Jax and fiora but surely there are ways to deal with it I just don't know how
@@gabrieladernebraga9339 There aren't ways to deal with it. If they can build hullbreaker your support top stops existing, its the entire reason why toplane janna died out. No support has any actual damage, especially strong waveclear, to survive a hardpush. He's getting lucky because he's running into morons that decide to towerdive the hard support instead of just damage tower because a renata can barely even poke you off it. And even still he's dying for nothing sometimes while under tower. He's trying to deflect with "oh they're salty low elo" but the long short is that this is an easily countered strategy if the enemy team has any braincells to rub together but is also team reliant making it garbage in 99% of situations. If your only strat in top lane is to hope for a gank or that they die to tower then you've lost the lane and trying to recover it. And nothing he did in the mid to late game was so unique to renata that he couldn't have picked an actual top lane tank instead.

I know you say farm doesn't matter, but it really does. The extra farm would have helped you get even tankier. I agree with most of the other aspects you touch though.
