🌹वेदांत says sorrow is not situational, it is notional. 🌹When you say that I am sad, it is not because of a certain situation sadness has come but this sadness is not something concreate like this is paper weight. So we cannot say that sadness is sadness. You cannot quantify the sadness that 5kg sadness is there or I have 10kg joy. 🌹So sadness is not in the five elements and moment I said sadness is not in the five elements, it means sadness is not in the world. 🌹So sadness is not because of any situation. So when you say sadness is not in situation, it means it is not out of your control. 🌹Anything of the five element may not be in your control but what is not in five element let us see where is it. 🌹Can you know sadness as this? - 🌹वेदांत raises a question can you know this is sadness like this is paper weight or this is a book? - you cannot say this is sadness. Then what is it all about? 🌹Something is there only when you are seeing it and it is not there when you are not seeing it that is called साक्षी भाष्य. 🌹And something is there when you are not seeing it that is called आभास भाष्य. This watch is there, supposing I am seeing somewhere else, the watch is still there. So this watch is called आभास भाष्य known by sense organs but my anger was there but when I am not angry my anger was not there. 🌹Dream is there when I am seeing the dream, when I am not there, you cannot see the dream. 🌹Sorrow is there only when you are seeing the sorrow. 🌹You are sad only when you are there, when you are not there, you are not sad. 🌹So वेदांत has defined sorrow in very typical manner - sorrow is not situational, sorrow is not emotional, sorrow is not intellectual, sorrow is personal. 🌹What is personal? - where I comes, sorrow is experienced in I. 🌹Personal means related to I, when I say I, so what is वेदांत says about sorrow - The imaginary experience of contraction in Self is called sorrow. 🌹नि means निश्चयात्मक ज्ञान - having firm knowledge. 🌹I am firm that I cannot be incomplete. 🌹उप - method of gaining the knowledge, नि condition of gaining the knowledge. 🌹Serving means emotional acclimatisation with the Guru. 🌹When the Knowledge comes from the संकल्प of the teacher then it goes straight in the heart of the disciple. 🌹When the wax is melted then only it takes the shape...we too have to melt first to gain Knowledge. 🌹All secular Knowledge is based on knowledge of इदम. 🌹It is easy to understand Vedantic Knowledge...but its difficult to abide in it for a long time. 🌹Vedanta is an illuminator and not a purifier.
