      Running (around, not like, for a mile-long run) is the thing that makes me feel better when I have anxiety attacks. When I NEED to stay home with my kids and I feel it coming on, I just jump up and down and shake my arms out instead...

    C- section mom here, I loved my C section recovery and experience. I only took pain meds for 1 day, after I didn't feel the need to medicate. Hubby mostly brought baby to me for the first 2 weeks. By Week 4, I was honestly back to normal. My scar is really small and it's my little reminder of the special period I shared with my baby. Best of luck :)

    Hey Morgan, I've had 6 kids, and I felt exactly the same with my first. I watched HOURS AND HOURS of birth videos on TH-cam in preparation for my birth. The thing I compare labor to is Power Lifting. It's not called "labor" for no reason, but it's a DOABLE labor. And pushing, for me, is always a relief, not worse than the contractions. You can do this!

    Ugh I just had my son almost 6 weeks ago, UNPLANNED C-section. I had pushed for 2 hrs, we had such high hopes bc with my daughter I pushed for 2 min & she came out. This baby boy was trying to come out face up & ALSO got stuck on my pubic bone. So after 2 hrs of pushing I had to go in for the C-section. I healed very well but I will say the first 2 weeks were tough. Don’t be afraid to accept all the help you are offered. I had to keep telling myself that bc I’m so stubborn & also not used to feeling sort of helpless not being able to do much. I like to be independent & even now I’m still trying to tell myself it’s okay to accept help.

      Hahaha that reminded me of my delivery last year. It was my second pregnancy and I felt really good, when the real pain kicked in it was too late. So, I had my baby in the car. I delivered my son while my husband was driving. But the drive there was hilarious. It was summer and hot, so I opened a window and I screamed from the top of my lungs. And my husband closed the window. So I opened it again. And he subtly was closing it. And i really needed that wind. I yelled at him to stop it 😂😂 but I knew he just didnt want to scare the people in the village. Cos, we live in Germany and there are just bunch of villages on the way to the hospital 😂😂 lookinh back it was so funny. None of us knew wtf was going on 😅

Our bodies were made to deliver babies, no matter the size of mom and baby. However, the best place for the mom to deliver her baby is where she is most comfortable! • @abipoole2859
    @abipoole2859 ปีที่แล้ว +9

    I was told by the anesthesiologist at the birth of my first child that the epidural is meant for contraction pain, not for “bottom” pain. Women push more effectively if they can feel what they’re doing down there. And Abby, I definitely felt every stitch my first time, too. It was distressing, but not unbearable. I imagine that that pain might have been blunted a little bit, because I don’t think I could do less than jump off the bed if there was absolutely no pain relief. Needles are sharp!

    • @kimjones2784
      @kimjones2784 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is wildly incorrect. My firstborn I felt nothing, not even pressure. I pushed maybe 3 times, the baby basically fell out it was so easy. My second baby my epidural wasn’t working right and feeling the pain as the baby descended was something that I hope to never experience again. And pushing that baby out took a lot more time and effort.

    • @LaLoon17
      @LaLoon17 ปีที่แล้ว

      Opposite with my cousin. She couldn't push because she felt all the pain down there. At the end my cousin's baby dead because she had a shoulder dystocia and it lasted for more than 5 mins. She couldn't push it out because of intense pain (she told me it was like she couldn't feel waist down and it was like the genital area was ripping and dropping down with a feeling of boiling water pouring down there). And she was kinda dumb to say that epidural would make pushing impossible but at the end she lost her child too. After years she had another baby through vaginal delivery with epidural and she just pushed for less than 10 mins. Not everyone can push without epidural just because the body knows. No hate

    C-Section advice: try to get off the painkillers sooner than later. And walk as soon as you can. They won’t let you go home if you don’t. The drugs make your mental state unstable and it affects breastfeeding. You will have to rest longer. No picking up your older son. Restrict your cleaning activities the first few weeks home. Trying to remember everything I learned. I had three c-sections.

    • @SwanLake2.0
      @SwanLake2.0 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Absolutely. I had two. And I blame pain killers for messing up with my kid’s stomach. With second kid I asked doctors for no drugs at all, and they kept it minimal. And breastfeeding where much easier with second baby.

Abby after your c section, get up and start walking as soon as possible. I’ve had 2 c sections and my first one I laid around and it took FOREVER to recover. I just had my first son and unfortunately I had the experience Matt talked about. We wanted to go natural (or as natural as possible while being induced) so I pushed for as long as I could but I had agonizing back pain even with the epidural. We ended up having to switch plans and do a C-section, which went horribly. Healing from them both was definitely hard and I would not recommend it. I wish I had just scheduled a C-section.

    I have 3 kids: a 3 year old, a 2 year old and a 9 month old. I had a traumatic vaginal birth with my first (he was also stuck) and I had to have reconstructive surgery a week after his birth. For the next two babies I had c-sections and they were amazing. Especially the last one. I had a much better experience, so I hope the same for you, Abby.

    I just had my 4th son. It was my cheapest yet at 4,500. If you do cash payment they take it down. My husband did deliver this one. So maybe they gave us a discount for it.
    My other cash one was 7,500. We did one through insurance and it was 35,000!!!! And 1,500 a month to have insurance. It's a racquet. I always do cash payment and save up before. Granted I'm so blessed that nothing terrible happened but man insurance is just so so shitty.
    Women hypnobirthing is life changing. I wish I knew about it on my 1st. Even just for meditation whilst pregnant. It's amazing!!!

    You can dispute the the validity of the hospital bill with the collection agency for future reference. That way when you are waiting for the insurance company is figuring things out, you aren't paying for something you don't even owe. I hope you have a great birthday and congratulations! ❤

    • @Felicja_17
      @Felicja_17 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It is, but nothing terrible and usually it’s quickly gone, sometimes it comes in a few waves… I had it for a few weeks and now it’s gone, expecting it to come back in the 3rd trimester.. the best I could describe it was that it is close to pain during urinary infection, but it was just sometimes, it’s a sharp pain, like a cramp down there.

    My brothers wife pushed for 4 hours with nurses and doctors leaving her for an hour at a time not checking her as often as they should’ve. And after 4 hours of pushing and really bad tearing the doctor came in and said that the baby’s head was too big and that she had to be rushed to a c-section. It was a really rough recovery for her.

    Abby, in the 2nd trimester the baby is smaller and the weight of the baby is almost completely on the pelvic floor and bladder, after the third trimester and as the baby gets bigger the uterus rises up into the abdomen and above the pelvic bone, that’s why there is less leakage!

    I suggest asking for the clear drape. They don’t make you watch baby get pulled out but they will move the blue drape and there will be a clear so you can see baby. Other wise it feels like forever for them to being baby over and you don’t get to see them right away !
    I did it with my third it was great

    Didn't even have an epidural, was at go time while the guy was talking to me about giving me the epidural, but said to everyone, having the baby now, did not believe me either, but they checked and I was. Crazy.

  • @amymcdouall1384

    I just had my second and joined the 2 under 2 club! I had pushed for 2 hours after taking forever to get fully dilated. The epidural was wearing off, baby boy wasn't in a good position and his heart rate was all over the place so I had to have an unplanned c-section. I am uneasy with needles let alone surgery. After the c-section, before even getting to hold him, the pediatrician told us they needed to send our boy to a specialty NICU over an hour away. A week at UVA and he was all good to take home. 2 days later I got post partum preeclampsia and spent another 4 days in the hospital. I will be taking a longer break between babies this time lol

But it's still wild to think we're going to have a baby so soon and it makes me want to cry tears of joy and anxiety whenever I think of it lol. It's been very nice to be able to go through this pregnancy with you abby. I'm 22 and my husband is 25, we feel so nice having a couple at our age being so open about having kids young 💕💕💕💕 Much love from our little town Ethel, WA.❤❤❤❤
