If you want the latest tech in outdoor propane fired pizza ovens, then it must have: 1) A dual energy source turn table pizza stone - 120V and batteries 2) dual heat sources - top and bottom of the pizza stone 3) easy to access the burners for maintenance 4) dual propane usage - 20 lb tank and 1 bl tank for tailgating As far as I know, the Halo is the only oven on the market today going all the above and it's cheap compared to its next rival that costs $800 and lacks 2 of the above points
Halo comes with the second gas attachment. To be apples to apples on price you need to add the cost of the extra fitting for a 20lb tank on the Leggero. Then compare the prices fairly. Me, I have the Versa. I like the fact I can clean the interior more easily, the quick connect gas fittings, and the electric plug on the side and it is 16" not 13". I looked up on the Blackstone site. It's another $25 for the 20 pound hook up. Just saying.
Excellent comparison video Tom. We expect nothing less from your videos. Granted the Blackstone is $100 less, but I have to imagine that people that can afford $300 for a pizza oven can likely manage the additional $100 for the Halo and the additional spend is justified. It looks like you have plenty of door height clearance on the Halo, but it looks like a tight fit with the Blackstone.
Something else I’d be interested in is the ability to keep making pizzas, some of these portable ovens take time to recover. I’m thinking the Versa can just keep being fed pizzas to feed a crowd.
I just picked up the Chefman electric oven from Costco for $250. I love it. Gets up to 750 and cooks my pizza in 5 minutes and I can put another one in after the first. No more going to the garage to cook pizza on a cold snowy night. Put it on my kitchen island and plug it in. Merry Christmas!
I also have the Chefman that I bought a month ago so I can use it in the Winter instead of going outside and using my Blackstone.Seems that you can only make a small 11-12 inch pizza with the Chefman and it get dirty and burning marks on the door. But the Chefman makes a good pizza and at $250 its a deal..Best Cheese to use is GRANDE otherwise its not a pizza lol
You're becoming quite the pizza oven expert. Both of them are quite nice. I bought a cheap one on Amazon. I can't remember the name of it. It works pretty well. Great comparison video.
I agree with you on your choice!!!! The blackstone does ok but halo has so many more pluses….the versatility looked a little overdone on the bottom….maybe turn the bottom burner off half way thru?
My older (one of the first portable pizza ovens) had a top that totally lifted up and it is similar . It is Cuisinart Great unit. Does not get as hot as these but does a good job and super portable. Probably 20 lbs or less. Thanks Tom.
Tom do you get any benefit from the halo link you put in the description? If not post an affiliate link or something. I’m sold on the Halo an want to make sure you get the credit. In my opinion it is night an day over the black stone.
I’m a blackstone guy through and through but dang that halo has really got it going on… blackstone should’ve took lessons. My patio might be ending up being a Blackstone Halo kinda patio.
Sold at the beginning, larger pizza, lid opens for clean-up, quick disconnect. For $100 more. Halo all the way!
Thanks for Watching Jim! Agreed!

clearance price for the Blackstone at $147 makes it forgivable on its flaws
Thanks for watching Brian! At that price I would agree

Thanks for Watching! Good point

Thanks for Watching Phillip! I believe I had that one also
What the widest peel that the verse can take? Can an 18” peel launch in a Versa?
Thanks for watching! I’ve never seen an 18” peel. The stone is 16” plenty of room surrounding it, so I would say yes
Great job god bless
Thanks for Watching John!
Great video, as always! One thing I'm curious about is how hot these ovens get on the bottom. Am I in danger of setting a picnic table on fire?
Thanks for watching Mark! I’d keep it off wood
Halo prices went up I see on Amazon it’s about 500 vs the blackstone is currently at 300.
Thanks for watching! Appreciate the info

Any idea how many pizzas a 1lb tank can cook?
Image if Halo just put a traditional oven thermometer in the middle of the pizza stone after seeing this review 🤣
Thanks for watching!
Amazon has the halo for 399- cover is $50 and natural gas conversion is 67
Thanks for watching Gerald! Appreciate the feedback
Hi Tom, have you tried the Roccbox from Gozney?
Thanks for Watching! Not yet
Halo looks like it produced a better pizza.
Agreed! Thanks for watching!
