I had the very first blue Hoover twin chamber direct are upright. It was actually really good upright I liked it a lot I had no problems with any of the Dust escaping. It was fantastic I liked it
The cleanest Hoover Elite Bagless I've seen in a long while. It's common to find these just cover in a thick layer of dust all over it's self since being a direct air with a paper filter that clogs up incredibly fast. All the dirt has nowhere to go but leak out at the top where the lid is.
I remember having the regular green U5290-900 version of this, and I can firmly say that these are one of my least favorite Elite variants. It just goes to show you that modern (at the time) bagless systems and direct air technology doesn't mix (and the power of those 12 amp motors show just how flawed these are to begin with). I don't know what Hoover was thinking when these slipped out into circulation (maybe they were desperate for money and wanted to innovate to keep up with technologies despite using an old design), but thankfully, the Windtunnel design was a whole lot better.
