That’s a good model Convertible there was one on a Nickelodeon game show finder keepers wondering what model that was

My mom had that exact same sweeper

We got one of these a day ago as our first Convertible! Well, if you don't count our model 29 that we needed a bag for. Ours has a replacement outer bag that takes type As, which we have HUNDREDS of. Thank goodness, I think the white looks better than the original yellow and I would hate to deal with type Cs, especially the original style which is a paper tube with one end taped shut. WTF!!?? Who thought that was ever okay!?!?!

I have one similar, but instead of a headlight lens it has a brown plastic panel. I got it personally from Tom Gasko in Missouri

Technically the convertible line went into the 2000’s and 2010’s as a commercial product

Had all the Hoover s mom had a blue from the 60s Than decade 80 blue and white b oth had head lights Than the wind tunnel. Now I have the bag less crappy Hoover. Nothing but problems with it. Miss these Hoovers

Very interesting group of vacuums there! The Hoover looks typical of the ones made in the 1960's. Very unusual that it's as late as 1978 with that style hood. Nice machine and great collectable!🙂

These came only in a Type C configuration not type A bags and 4 height adjustments there was never 3 height adjustments convertible

karl the u4119 is the ONLY convertible to go through all the running changes made to the convertible the slide switch was introduced in late 1983 early 1984 when the height adjuster went to the white plastic height pedal it was the longest running production unit from early 1978 to late 1984 and replaced by the u4363 in march 1984

karl the u4119 was launched in early 1978 as the full hooded convertibles were given a plastic base and then the full line of domestic hoovers all went plastic

karl the height adjuster is a 4 position there is no such thing as a three height hoover rug adjuster the u4123 is also a 4 position height adjuster spray it with wd 40 and all 4 would click

Wow what a nice F&G collection! I have many old Sanitaires, Eurekas and much more also like my 1978 blue self propelled ESP 6.2 amp Amtec with the vinyl bag jacket with the light up logo on the hood. I have vids on my profile of many of them. One of the vids is a rundown of most of my Sanitaires and Eurekas. And lmao as a kid i always looked at the dial a nap as an oreo cookie also

Happy New Year Karl, about the topics that you are talking i like the relation between this apliances and it’s society, Hoover started this cleaning machine revolution followed by Eureka and later Kirby and other brands. Technology was introduced to solve some issues like bagless, no I’m not talking about cyclones but filtered like Filter Queen or Sanyo and Hitachi that would introduce filter, Hoover or Electrolux AG will follow that need to avoid disposable bags just like today we have with disposable coffee pods, later will introduce multicyclone systems and also HEPA and sealed machines to have air cleaner (for a note remember the Electrolux AG Oxygen with HEPA filter and HEPA bag) today the move still is for light sealed machines with better batteries. Still the champion today it’s Black and decker dust buster line of machines.still people has to move to a cleaner place not only with vacuum cleaner but also electric scrubbers and electric mops. The people could be claiming cleaner places or just a bunch of gadgets. How this change our environment and our place to live. Thanks Karl and enjoy the Holidays

Merry Christmas Karl! The Sanyo Transformax was the top-rated stick-vac in Consumer Reports tests in the early 1990’s. It is actually the very first vacuum that has the “lift off canister” feature. I am pretty sure this actually predates the first Bissell Lift Off upright. An amazing development in vacuum cleaner history! In fact, Sanyo sold a pink “Hello Kitty” version at one point - search for it on the internet!!!!

Fun fact: in 1997 the Phillips corporation sold Regina to oreck , hopefully you find a Regina, oreck carpet extractor

Fun machine to see. I had a former freind/neighbor in 6th to 8th (1993 to to 1996) grade and I think they had the 5071D or 5071E. I can't remember now if it had the box top or not on the bag. I think they said it was from Kmart. Always like that machine but it's been 30 years since I've seen it. Kind hope to find one of them. That light up lense/logo is cool.
