Hi guys! Just wanted to make a few more points here that I didn't in the video :) 1. The delivery process was really smooth and the box was delivered to me within one week. Around the same time I had also ordered another mystery box, I am yet to receive that one 😅 2. My main complaint with this box is that it really felt like no effort was given in curating a good box. It also now seems like this box favours British authors. And the authors and books they chose for this box are really obscure and some have a very thin connection to the literary world. I wish they could have taken more effort to look for underrated authors of repute, or Indian books which don't get enough attention or just curate a box that someone who loves the literary world would appreciate. Rather than just putting together a box with random books that SEEM like they might not even be good. Who knows 🤷🏽♀ I know I'm judging these books by their cover, but I don't think I'm completely wrong in my assessment. 😅
Mystery boxes are fun until they are opened. 😢 It's possible that you would find a gem of a book among them but it's really rare. I have decided to not buy any mystery boxes since two bad experiences. Hope you like at least one or two of the books 😊. I had got The Haunting in one of such boxes and it was a decent read.
So true!! The concept is so fun! Honestly, the outcome would also be really nice if there was more thought and heart put into curating them. At least in relation to the one I received, that would have helped.
Same thing happened with me. You may be right about the doubt that may be all those other videos we see about mystery boxes from this site are all sponsered
I also bought this box last year....I think there were 5 books of 4+ rating and 5 books of 3.5-4 rating.....but as all classic book readers do.... haven't started any of the books yet😆
Hi. I am asking on behalf of all new authors in India trying to make a break. How do we get to feature our book on your channel? I get it you won't just review any book you won't like, and that's absolutely fine! But still, there must be a way for new authors to offer up their books for your platform, right? Please let us know the process. Or at least tell us how you discover books. I feel the reading community in India is small. There are not as many pro booktubers as yourself and it would be great if young authors and critics can form a community.
Hi there! Can you send me an email at the address I’ve added in the description box. If you’ve already emailed me in the past, I’m so sorry for not replying! But if you email now, I’ll be sure to answer this question :)
@@fandomnewbie this is actually true, 100rs kg mein mil jaati hai, ek normal customer ko, inka toh khud ki company hai, shayd aur bhi km ho sakta hai, Mujhe ye bhi lagta hai, ki ye sab donated books hoti hai, 3rd world countries keliye, Through NGO ye Bina kisi tax, diye, bech dete hai Daryaganj mein
These looks like books they couldn't sell so they're getting rid of the books. I have got second hand books from bookchor but i got them from the fair they held. Spent the whole day to find good books but it was satisfying
Book fairs can actually be very satisfying!! I think the whole process of spending an entire day browsing through books, even if they are old is more fun hehe..
There is no good book box which curates recent books from good authors like Emily henry,R.F. Kuang and many more recent authors. This is why i dont buy these book box from kitabay ,bookchor and other websites.the only one good box is tbb which wil take almost yrs to reach us
The thing is I didn't even expect these really famous authors or new books. I just expected reputed authors. Maybe some classic authors or older books that are relatively famous. This felt like they just grabbed the first 10 books that they could get their hands on and put them in a box.
I had also ordered the same mystery box from Kitabay, and had a similar experience. I got all British books. It looks like they source these books from Britain. I got two types of books- it was either a war book (world war based) or books about infidelity. I'm still not getting why books with so much commonality were included. Could it just be coincidence? Most of the books had low ratings on Goodreads. I forced myself and read 2 books. I couldn't complete the third. I don't think any effort is put to "curate" it. It's more about--- let's get rid of these books. 😅
So underwhelming and disappointing. And I get why you’re being ‘mean’- it’s like they went to the closest second hand shop and packed some random crap into a box. I mean that Daniel Steele doesn’t even have a back cover. Come on. That’s just lazy. 😂

Why why how did you get the courage to order another without going through the first one
Hahaha! I ordered them both at the same time. They are from different companies, so I wanted to compare the experiences.
@@fandomnewbieLooking forward for the comparison video❤
@@fandomnewbie let us know when the second one comes. this was too funny

Exactly.....!!! A great concept just ruined by the efforts
that memoir and the last book caught my eye lol. don’t think i’ll be getting a mystery box ever😭
You can try, just don't have very high expectations haha
Same thing happened with me. You may be right about the doubt that may be all those other videos we see about mystery boxes from this site are all sponsered
Yeah, it seems like that. Some of those videos are also old, so maybe their quality has gone down over the years? I don't know..
One of the most honest review 😂❤

Hahaha!
I was thinking of ordering a box from them but I guess now I have to think again
Your experience might be different. I don't know..I just wish there was more heart put into curating these boxes.
Only if we had something like Book of the Month like they do in US. But lets not dream with our eyes open.
I know right? Sigh...if only!!
Unboxing …..like unboxing the different new worlds …..when books are there in box😁😁😁
Unboxings are ususally the best!! Though this one was a bit disappointing 😅
I got a 15 book mystery box last month and I was dissapointed and I just gave away all the books for free.
I think I'm going to do the same. Maybe I'll keep 2 or 3 books, but the rest are out.

Some websites actually have option to choose books for the same rate ! But still they have very limited choices
Yeah! The books are all quite old. Understandable because they are second hand.
Ye sab website wale Daryganj market se 20-20 rs wali book khard kr .... mystery box ke naam pe 1200 me me sell krte hai
@@varunmalik you know that might actually be true..I didn’t think of this 👀
