Quake i know you out here really promoting that new documentary, as you said various times in the Eminem live stream, but biggie had at least 1 more album on Bad Boy planned [born again] and puff was not only aware that big was trying to get his subsidiary off the label with the commission and Junior M.A.F.I.A., he was promoting it. The entire no way out album was basically written for puff by diddy and the lox, days before he was murdered. He might have wanted to branch out and leave, but that's more speculation.
