If men having a degree of authority over women means men have supremacy over women, then the police having a degree of authority over civilians means police supremacy over civilians. Not all women that undress show their beauty brother. I'm kidding, but it's almost as if it's necessary for women to expose as much flesh as possible regardless of what they look like, beautiful, ugly, fat or skinny. Women don't even have much choice of what to wear. There are certain expectations and peer pressure that start from the age of 10 or less. I still remember how shocking it was for me to see Child beauty pageant contests in the US and how normal it seemed for parents and audiences to dress and parade little girls in make up and inappropriate outfits. Nowadays showing as much skin as possible is almost synonymous with being feminine. And they dare question freedom of choice and equality when speaking of hijab.

Also it is a very rare practice to circumcise women in the way recommended by the Prophet PBUH and remains the choice of the women if she will gain benefit from it. You want to bring about "reforms" to achieve true equality between genders by taking the western liberal model as a guide? I was shocked! How could you assume they are good Muslims when you see them on the TV series drinking alcohol and having a Haram relationships and going around half naked ! Not all women that undress show their beauty brother. I'm kidding, but it's almost as if it's necessary for women to expose as much flesh as possible regardless of what they look like, beautiful, ugly, fat or skinny. Women don't even have much choice of what to wear. There are certain expectations and peer pressure that start from the age of 10 or less. I still remember how shocking it was for me to see Child beauty pageant contests in the US and how normal it seemed for parents and audiences to dress and parade little girls in make up and inappropriate outfits. Nowadays showing as much skin as possible is almost synonymous with being feminine. And they dare question freedom of choice and equality when speaking of hijab.

Also it is a very rare practice to circumcise women in the way recommended by the Prophet PBUH and remains the choice of the women if she will gain benefit from it. Please educate yourself on the benefits of circumcision instead of showing your bias and generalisations.

Its hard for me as a guy to objectively look at the teachings and ignore the 'truly' unequal parts and just gloss over them because 'thats just how it is' or 'thats how it used to be back then' useless arguments. Most religious books are interpretative it appears through design or not' so the line between interpretation and manipulation can be very thin sometimes.
I do not agree with the way feminism is carried out in todays society as its not 'truly' practiced in the roots of equality', but brother, Im not under any illusion that the Qur'an is truly equal for a male and female unfortunately.

Wallahi it is very important to discuss these things and make progress to try and mitigate these type of discussions. In my community/family I see these problems all too much and the end result typically' ends in zero change and the solution invariably comes down to stating similar to what you just wrote. Which doesnt get us anywhere. All signs point to a reformation of some type possibly' in the future. Thankfully some institutions and people realise this and are making progress, slow progress but progress at least.

The "fairness" & "equality" of both genders is not for you & I to decide and make up. The ONE WHO CREATED US has legislated to us how to define equality, and what that implies. It all comes down to the perception of us being more knowledgeable about concepts such as "equality" & "justice" than our Creator, which is a gift that the modern liberal godless movement has given us, that we make our own destiny.
The rulings & their interpretations are basically going to stay the same, whether you are living in the 7th century, or the 21st century or the 31st century. You want to bring about "reforms" to achieve true equality between genders by taking the western liberal model as a guide?
It has been this way for centuries, and this "patriarchal" system that the liberal west can't stop talking about (by distorting & twisting to claim that it has been the main cause of oppression, when that's simply deception), has always been there, and will always be the only model that is going to survive. It might feel like this onslaught of liberal ideology is going to be the new ultimate savior of human race, but I assure you, a few years from now, we will see how quickly this myth will lose ground.
If anything, this onslaught has, in fact, created more divide, and more gender-discrimination than ever before, instead of curing it. Sexism is way more prevalent now than it was ever before.
