It's not a mistake on the lightning power the Lightning power perk for heavy attacks applies 1 charge in a large radius so one heavy attack hit can apply a charge to multiple enemies in proximity of the impacted one. It is also quite useful
In case you didn't figure it out after posting , the difference in the heavy vs light charges was that the heavy gave 1 charge in a large area not just the enemy you hit.
The demo for this game was fun. One thing that's definitely recommended after watching the play through, practice your attacks on the training dummies. Hack and slash games all (should) have combos that string together light and heavy attacks. And different weapons have different dodge attacks or mechanics.
38:12 the heavy charge power is an AOE charge, i personally find it the most overpowered electric power seeing as how 1 attack can charge over 10 enemies and 1 kill of a small enemy can easily diss out 3k damage.
Everyone seems to think "more frames of animation = better," but I can't say I agree with that in this case. The game just looks so slow compered to other, much faster beat 'em ups. I just can't get into it. I still think Klei's art team does a phenomenal job, but I'd have to try it for myself to see if I'd like it.
This made me a bit more interested in this! I feared it'd be more like a beat-em-up but this looks a bit more ARPG-styled, like Nobody Saves the World, which I enjoyed a lot. I might have to check this out.
dont starve was one of the first video games I played. i dont even know why. i think because it was one of the few games available for linux on steam. i love klei entertainment and enjoy their game but im so bad :D i never made it more than a week in dont starve or more than 100 days in oxygen not included
Nobody wants to admit it, but pixel art is easier. For indie devs the most important thing is making the hard labor as easy as possible because they have no funds, no resources, and no experience. Thats why indie devs like pixel art, synthesized music, and grid based level design tools.
Honestly I was hoping for more from the devs of don't starve. This looks good, but it doesn't look like it'll be even close to don't starve quality. I hope I'm horribly wrong
For "Don't starve" creator who created the amazing open-world game, full of freedom and exploration TO create this low-level indie limited children game is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
The game has potential, but I think it has a massive tone problem. The enemies don't look threatening nor vicious. They look like big dorks, and that's a problem. I don't want to beat up dorks. They need to look far more evil than they currently do. Like the little radish enemies just straight up need to go. They literally come off like babies. Like you're some dude swinging a weapon at an infant. The little green bulb monsters have this big old dopey smile on their face and when they get hit they express so much pain... it makes me flinch a little on their behalf... ... like how is it at all cathartic to beat up such creatures? Like if you're going to have enemies like this you either need to do something like Cult of the Lamb where the darkness is so abundantly clear on the tin and in every facet of the game that it's crystal clear that that these cute critters you're beating on are actually demons, demonic, or demon aligned that you can get over the cute exterior, you find some other way to mitigate the cute factor, or you just get rid of the cute factor altogether. ... then again, maybe it's all just me and my tastes. I dunno. I guess I'll just wait and see.
it has a dodge, therefore it is a soulslike. Inform the Pineapple.
The M.F.I.C. (Metallic Fruit Information Center) has been notified, sir.
@@bigmodebestmodeAre we apart of the Pineapple Republic? 😂😂😂😂
Gotta love some dumpster diving.
Would he consider Gungeon a soulslike?
It is a soulslike. -Pineapple alt account
This game is so well animated my mind is blown.
It looks better than 95% of western cartoons. Insane!
I'm definitelly buying this on release.
Dude this game looks fantastic. Can't wait for the full release!
Pretty sure this one is developed and published by Klei.
@@PotionSmeller my mistake! Will edit it out
I would absolutely watch you play more of this, yes.
There's a lot of well-executed genre staples here. The enemy attacks are telegraphed at just the right time.
It's not a mistake on the lightning power the Lightning power perk for heavy attacks applies 1 charge in a large radius so one heavy attack hit can apply a charge to multiple enemies in proximity of the impacted one. It is also quite useful
It would be nice if after discovering a new attack you could open up a menu that tracks your attacks and shows you the combo.
In case you didn't figure it out after posting , the difference in the heavy vs light charges was that the heavy gave 1 charge in a large area not just the enemy you hit.
Some of the best animation I’ve seen in a game like this! I’m blown away
I really like this aesthetic
Would love to see you play more of this. Can't wait for you to try out the strikers, probably my favorite weapon type in the combat test.
I love the Focus Hit system. This seems like a well-designed game so far. Worth keeping an eye on for sure.
The animations in this game are beautiful
Been waiting for you to cover this one! It was an absolute blast to check out this game's playtest!
At 19:16 "What killed me?" There was a spiked floor trap hiding behind the mini-big boss that got the last hit.
The art from Klei is always next level!
I can't wait. This is beautiful!
Really liking the animations with this, very smooth.

After playing for 30 hours I think skills slots are essetial.
Basic weapon specific skill& parry should be fundemental controls
+1
I'm here for as much of this as you want to play.
please play more of this! great stuff
Yeah this definitely looks pretty good. I'm looking forward to seeing more of this. 👍
i wanna play this so badly, looks honestly awesome
The first death you were standing on the spike trap.
Ow man, this is a dream. Please Klei, break the industry with this game, we all want a game like this from you!!!
reminds me of cult of the lamb

Hope this does well even though Wizard With a Gun just came out (since it looks very similar in style and combat)
Super cool game, I hope to see some more weapons with cool move sets
Reminds me of Lost Castle, looking forward to it.
i want to see more of this Reto!!
way better than cult of the lamb ngl
I'm going to be real his voice matched that red fox so well lol
Honestly, that makes me happier than any compliment. I'd love to just be a guy who does a good voice for a fox.

Amazing! The whole dungeon aspect has strong cult of the lamb vibes
Never played don't starve, but this look fun to play.
Man has joined the way of the pointy stick
Definitely want to see more
Я хотел бы видеть такую же графику и анимацию в Don't Starve
This game looks so good!
Klei have already created 2 masterful games, and this one feels like theyre trying even harder than before.
huh i just notice the multiplayer bar on top of the power selection screen
Gives me Kult of the Lamb vibes
Reminds me of cult of lamb a little
looks rly good, graphics.
I like the art style. Seemed like game devs were going overboard on the pixle art for awhile.
Nobody wants to admit it, but pixel art is easier. For indie devs the most important thing is making the hard labor as easy as possible because they have no funds, no resources, and no experience. Thats why indie devs like pixel art, synthesized music, and grid based level design tools.
Beautiful game definately, seems to be fun also 😀
love this game
Are there plans for a wholesomeverse multiplayer?
There are , and its alreadyworking ❤
man this game so cool
Great gameeeee , wishlistttt
Honestly I was hoping for more from the devs of don't starve. This looks good, but it doesn't look like it'll be even close to don't starve quality. I hope I'm horribly wrong
This looks really good but wished the speed was a bit faster.
Seems awesome
Love Klei.
Im playing through Dont Starve at this moment and this game is triggering some sort of ptsd from it
Cool combat though
Enchantee is literally French for enchanted.
I'm willing to bet the multihit that eluded you so much is just Light attack 4x 😂
looks more like cult of the lamb for me
This game is a Cult of the lamb version, but without the Cult. lol
Not on switch ?
Look like Cult of the Lamb, but better
MORE!
cult of the lamb style?
For "Don't starve" creator who created the amazing open-world game, full of freedom and exploration TO create this low-level indie limited children game is a HUGE DISAPPOINTMENT.
3 normal hit then 3 fast combo hit
please play more

New furry game?! So fluffy so far
Looks like Cult of the Lamb but without the awful cult mechanics.
What's with the terrible framerate on this game? Even on TH-cam I can see how bad it is.
look like cotl
Controller game...me sad :(
first
Combat seems too slow.
