That was liquid grease..helps slow down the loss through the bad seals.. thats some workshop you have there..👍
Small tip for reluctant manifold bolts Brazing tip Heat penetrating oil re heat just the head of the bolt , keep the heat concentrated on the bolt Better to spend time heating than a broken bolt
They look like conathy track rod ends

Not quite sure but I’d say at least 17k hrs maybe more as they were still working before restoration
