This is so unbelievably tasteful - to me it’s one of the best performances out there. I return to this video for years now. And again and again it makes me think: Yes! It all comes together so beautifully and really touching - the shining organ keeping up this vibrant tension, later the drum kicking in with just a few hits, the pure bass adding some ground to walk on, and, of course - Snowy. To me it seems they all did exactly what needed to be done. Great musicians but at no point a demonstration of technical skills, no deceiving attitudes - just pure bluesy sunlight…
I've only just stumbled on this dude, a friend of mine( lead guitarist from Eva Braun-band) Graham. God bless you and Sandra. Bro. This dude Snowy White's notes sound like the way I be feeling. This guy is amazing. Hes in a class all his own. Just fuckin AWESOME
@@jaja-pl7zt It is indeed. I saw Snowy live in support of Mick Taylor in Jerez, Spain in about 1990 and he was just superb. Much better than Taylor, whose work with the Stones I've always admired but who was definitely not at his best that night.
Snowy got to know Peter Green when he first moved to London. Peter had just left Fleetwood Mac and they jammed together on a number of occasions. Peter invited him to play on his 1979 album "In The Skies" and you can hear Snowy playing the solo on "Slabo Day".
The first time I heard him was on Peter Green's lp In the Sky where he played Slabo day whatever that means. I saw the name Snowy White on the credits and I thought that it had to be an alias for some famous guitarist. But as I listened to the style I could not identify who it could be. Now I know Snowy White is for real
ok now its official ... next thing I m going to buy is a guitar and start learning it .... this is more than just awesome ... no words exist to describe this ... divine sounds!
Snowy was the lead guitarist of Roger Waters when he staged the whole album of The Wall, right there where the historical Berlin Wall used to stand. Snowy delivered every note of Gilmour to perfection
This man is now the English blues master after the passing of Greeny..he is almost a clone of PG's guitar work..had respect for each other and their collaborating was magic
I think it was '79 actually but could be wrong. I saw them at the Palladium in NYC with Graham Parker in '77 and again in late '78 with Blue Oyster Cult. I thought he played that day.@@keithalfredanthonydonovan3757
If I was walking down a busy side walk full of night clubs up and down the street and if I happen to pass a curtain club and I heard this guitar playing I would diffently recognize it was Snowy White I tell my self I know that voice it Snowy I would walk straight in and listen to what Snowy has to say on his Gold Top talk to me Snowy one note is all I need but 2 or 3 or 50 it would be all good Rock On...RocknRollFlat5
Amen to that brother man. People that doesn't know how much it touches each and every person different and the truth of some of the best things in life and I'm sure thank God for the great gift of hearing the blues because it's the best music ever
Fuck Eric Clapton he’s a fucking asshole who stole everything he knows from the old black blues men. He’s never had an original thought in his life, he’s a racist and anti Vaxer.
A beautiful, haunting performance. Undertones of North African and Japanese sounds, in his guitar work. Something wonderful happens when you bring together a gifted guitarist, a great song, a superb band, and a Gibson guitar.

Only thing that would make this any better would have been Mick Taylor who was good friends with Jimi come out & play some of that fine guitar work with Snowy. That would have been something to see & hear. Such a fine cover here.
I am a fan of both Snowy White and also of Mark Knopfler but the truth is that Knopfler really ripped - off Snowy's 'Bird of Paradise' when he wrote and recorded the ' Brothers in Arms' song !
Pretty cool version, somewhat akin to Roy Buchanans version of Hey Joe on Austin city limits. For me the best version of that song by far is Steve Lukather on the Les Paul tribute show with his 59’ burst . Smokin hot 🔥
Mensch, Torsten, ich stimme Dir vollkommen zu - das ist unglaublich berührend. Seit Jahren komme ich immer wieder zu diesem Video zurück… Lieben Gruß, Benno.
It's uncanny how much this guys playing resembles Peter Greens! They played together after Peters fateful German trip & acid spike at the hands of Amon Duul. Now I wonder how much was him on those cuts & how much was Peter. Certainly Peter was & is a shadow of his former self sadly... A tragic reminder of the lethal potential of drugs to those with fragile psyches...
Two words. Absolute perfection.😎🎸
May this wonderful musician remain with us for a long time to come!!
This music sends you to another planet the music not the wine
Brilliant guitarist, no pissing about shredding, a joy to hear.
Hammond and Les Paul. The heavenly duality.
The finest example of a guitar gently weeping that I've ever heard
Wunderschöner Sound , mit Seele und feinstem Bluesfeeling gemacht

Snowy White was part of Pink Floyd's 1977 Animals tour. I saw them play in Miami.
He also played on Rick Write's solo album "Wet dreams" 1978.
You can tell he plays from the heart ❤️ and love of the
music ☮️ I love the gold top
Les Paul ✌️
Amazing ! Love this guy!
There is not a better version any where. Jimi would have loved it, I am sure. This is golden. Music is beautiful
Not even Eric Clapton and Duane Allman?? I beg to differ.
Each version of this most beautiful love song of the whole world and all times composed by Jimi is something beyond recognition!❤❤
Highly underrated amazing guitarist just love his work ,TOPMAN
Genius of nostalgia, I really love the way He plays, no wonder why He played with Pink Floyd , Waters invited Him for his solo projects
It doesn’t get any better
What a blessing to hear Mr.White lay this one down.

I gotta remember that one!
Maaan does he makes that vintage 57 LP sing. Unbelievable tone.
Hugely underrated guitarist. He really puts his own stamp on this. Definitely recommend further listening, especially "Midnight Blues".
try " how was it for you" , amazing song

Snowy was the lead guitarist of Roger Waters when he staged the whole album of The Wall, right there where the historical Berlin Wall used to stand. Snowy delivered every note of Gilmour to perfection
Rick DiFonzo played most of the Gilmour "stunt" solos on that show, but Snowy's presence certainly can't be understated.
The keyboard player played with Paul Kossoff way back in the time machine! Early 70s.
Absolutely great blues!!! I am a new fan😎👌🥰❤️
Great solos thx for posting

Seeing him play with Thin Lizzy back in 78 was something to behold. He isn't a clone of anybody. Just a damn good guitarist.

No tricks, no stage antics. Just a band dressed in street clothes, playing great Blues. This is the way its supposed to be.
Never knew that there is a rule that blues has to be played in street clothes. Interesting news ...
