I recently got the Renesas yrdKrl78g13 demonstration kit:
    Pure porn-on-a-stick:
It has an LCD screen, speaker, micro-SD slot, IR-in IR-out, microphone, temp sensor, Ambient Light Sensor, 3 axes-accelorometer, a fet-switch connector, a triac connector, a Serial Comm port, Audo out.. etc etc..
    Very complete demoboard!

That's what we all love about Dave, isn't it? No scripts and very long, juicy videos.

Thank you, Dave! Great review! I think that no resistors on the logic analyzer inputs is not a bad thing... due to they will not influence with a board schematic.

It is probably included as a return address so if something would happen and the package needs to be sent back it reaches back to sender.

Looks pretty decent for the price, but one thing I didn't like about the wires is they do not follow the standard resistor colour code like they do on my HP analyzer (and a cheaper FPGA based one we use at work similar to this. Having them in the proper order would make identification much easier IMO.

If we go this way, your whole blog is one big advertisement, you use your multimeter, oscilloscope and other gears on your videos... crazy! There is no need to worry about such opinions. Keep doing your great work Dave!

I love the mailbag episodes. People who don't are cordially invited to pull on their unit while the rest of us tune in. Thumbs down on the logic analyzer, I'll spend slightly more and get far greater. Yeah, the case was sweet. Keep it as an enclosure for your next prototype.

why do ppl have to be hard on dave? you are really interesting dave keep up the good work. oh yeah and the problem with china is the shit the produce there instead of the quality stuff we used to make here. like manufacturing in the usa is almost dead too. i wanna buy stuff from the us and here and the other places that recognize quality over quantity to make money. importing everything from china is part of the reason for the GFC

HA HA HA!!! That logic analyzer SUCKS :-D Check out miniLA open source project. It's a little bit obsolete today, but still much much better that this (and many others) commercial crap. miniLA is at TH-cam, just search it. It's based at Xilinx XL95xx series CPLD device - XL95288, but there were some experiments with Spartan 3 FPGA's (try to contact Bali Zoltan, eltexto freemail hu).
    Features:
    32 channels
    128 Kb for channel
    sampling 100 MHz
    external clock input
    External trigger
    USB

...Made in Europe, can they get any more unspecific?
So it could be made in for example, Czech republic. Or Moldova. Or Russia. or Ukraine. Maybe Poland ? Germany ? Norway ? Finland?
Who am I kidding, nothing gets made in Finland, too bloody expensive.
But why not just say "Made in Planet Earth", makes almost as much sense than "Made in Europe".
