Cheers Jessie now the clocks have gone back it really feels like the season has moved on into deep autumn and everything has slowed down. Well done for staying the course with the plot tour. and with no coat!! You still have so much going on despite the wet and cold and oh so grey. Have a great week.
You were brave to do the plot tour in the rain it's looking super tidy. I have now decided I don't like growing cabbages, an exception is the perennial tree cabbage which I have discovered are idiot proof and grows well without covering with no caterpillar or pigeon damage. Wow Jessie that must have been one hell of a hangover ! Potty mouth was excellent as per usual too. Take care x
You have lots of greens for the winter so I can see you having veg most of the winter so you have done well in the end. Your perseverance has paid off. You didn’t let the disappointments take over👍
Lettuce Soup...... Good call.......If they are a little bitter, cook them as a pasta greens, sweetened with a little Balsamic Vinegar and salty sweetness of shaved Parmesan. Served with chopped garlic chives at the end would "put the top hat on it" Bon Appetite !!
Lots of BLT's! I love your girlie wirlies hopping over the little fence and love that Lily gets along with them. Always love your positive attitude, you and your mom's work ethic, and so happy you mentioned what those pretty pink flowers are. As soon as you said it I had to google Nerine and have ordered bulbs to ship in March. Thanks so much for the tour!
You could save the seeds from your asparagus that's gone to seed. I saved some wild asparagus seeds and broadcast some and started some in pots. Was suprised how meny germinated. Love your videos.
Lovely tour of the allotment - it's looking great. And that string bag did look like Rab C Nesbit's vest although I think his vest was a bit more of a yellowy gray, your bag is lovely and white. Looks very hand for carrying veggies in. Thank you for another great video.
Hello Jess and mum. I remember making a string vest all the rage to wear over tshirts in the early 60s that bag triggered the memory just as you commented on the person who wore one. Definitely a grey English day even on the camera. Finally had two beaut sunny days down here and another today so the vegies I planted are finally happy. Yippee. I tell you what mind Jess watching you does make the year seem to fly by or was it just such a rotten summer that it seemed so short. Jess plant those long standing cabbage seedlings that’s what mine looked like after few months they got planted out under net and now look fantastic
Doesn't your Mum let you use real scissors yet? 🤣 I normally use scissors for harvesting leafy greens rather than secateurs, they give a nice clean cut. Shame about your beans, hopefully there are more waiting to pop their heads up. Thanks for the tour.👍
Thank you again for the tromboncino recommendation…I picked the last 2 baby ones 2 days ago…into the soup. I’ll definitely be growing them again next year😀😀😀
oo jes the size on those nasturtioms and they look so healthy , id pick a few big ones and make some stuffed vine leafs with those yum yum xxx i just cut mine back but sown more in a few diferent colors
@@JessieatPlot37 cool ...it is a great old trick and works amazingly ....the beans only have to be in the paraffin for a few seconds just before they go in the ground
Hello! For what it’s worth, an overcast day is really good for filming because there’s fewer shadows. You can really see everything nicely. Sometimes the high contrast of bright sunshine casting dark shadows messes up the presentation to a viewer, like What’s that big - oh it’s shadow, never mind, wish it wasn’t so dark, looked like a hole from here!
The dirty behind sceens are most time in front of the sceens with all the critter damage so i`m happy all is well in the polytunnel. I think i can count on one hand when a cheers is not with alcohol. Usualy because the cheers is to early but now i guess ,because of the hangover, you sworn never to drink it again ( at least for 2 days). If i put broadbeans straight into the ground the mice and rats are having a feast. I sow them in seedtrays and plant them out when they are about 10 cm with green leaves, maybe thats a safer options for your fieldbeans? Lots of love from Belgium xx
Hello Jessie and your Mum, i have a friend just like your mum, we meet for a weekly coffee and hers has to be extra hot & she does it in second! Me, takes me at least 20 mins to drink mine 🙄 Lovely Lil, bless her, your chickens are lovely too. Lovely plot tour in the rain. Thanks for sharing and take care 😊
It will be squirrels peeling your apricot I have watched mine doing that to my lilacs. They use it for nesting. I'm glad they are at least going for a dead tree!
Happy Tuesday ! Lots of good looking food out there, thanks for keeping us inspired to grow the goods. Love the honesty On the hangover, I can relate Cheers🎉
The Bernie’s are beautiful I think I will get some of those. What do you do with feverfew? They will self set everywhere once they have flowered but look very pretty as a big plant lots of lovely little white daisies.
If you were able to watch TV that wasn't a hangover, a hangover is a dark silent room and flat lemonade 😊😅😅 hope you tube have upped your money as they have really upped the no of adverts
My experience was with Asparagus in my pasture which grew in a clump of 6 or 7 Aspen trees, so filtered sun. They were gigantic spears, bigger than my thumb every year for 30 plus years. Probably grew that way cause I didn’t help. 😂
Hahhaha, it really does seem to like a bit of neglect. I think i may have been mulching them when they prefer to be in less fertile soil! Like under aspen trees :D
42:48 Do you find your yellow beetroots grow much less well than your reds? I'm growing Burpees Golden along with Boltardy and my Golden ones have been rubbish for both the sowings I did. Like 10% of what I get for Boltardy and no real large ones.
How about a chat with the good man that built Lil's home and a sort of "Through The Keyhole" of Lil's abode? There must be plenty of "Lottie's" who also welcome our Feline acquaintances.

hahahah, yeah, many a bitter lettuce has been shuffled into 'vegetabledom' but mum is a bit funny about the texture of it cooked! So just me.
I harvest my chillies and they ripen and change colour readily indoors.....x
me too
Ohhhh…leaf raking time of year…not my favourite task…but I keep saying it,s good exercise and doing my (non existent ) abs good😀😀😀
Hahhaha, yeah. Think of the abs. Think of the abs :D
Thanks!

That sounds fantastic!

Thanks Steven. Things are still hanging on in there!
Uou have so much that been but I live the crunching leaves and the autumnal feel

quick soak of the beans in paraffin before planting will keep the mice from eating them

I like the moment when she puts her hair up with a Renoiresque turn of the upper torso. Artist man not Pervy❤😂
hahahahahahhaha! oh i'm so glamourous covered in mud and soggy in the rain!!
Hi Jess you can cut a grape vine to the ground and it will come back. Ours was covered this year with grapes but they just didn’t get sweet
I could use a "wet day" here in mid-MO, USA!
Have some of ours bob!!

Hello My Beautiful Jessie.
Lettuce soup sounds good. Do you have a recipe for that as I often get lettuce gluts
I'll try and put one up!

Much slower! I had good success with... umm, let me think. Boldor, i think it was called. But it was F1!
Sounds like you had a beetle problem on your grapes.
How old is your mulberry would you recommend growing

I'm not sure he would be very keen hahahah!
@JessieatPlot37 I can hear Lloyd Grossman now! "Who lives in a house like this?"
Bhut Jolokia is a ghost pepper and very very very hot, Got see you eat that Jess :)
Did you say Black Strawberries,,,,?????????????🤔🤔😅😅..
Squidgers strip bark Jess
Ah, probably them then!
Itchy scalp, Jess? They have special shampoos that might help. Good luck.
no, just trying to keep the hair out of my face
😂 I never watched Rab C Nesbitt when I was young. Just couldn't understand a word he was saying so I couldn't understand the humour.
Hahhahahah!
Rab C Nesbitt! It ran from 1988-99. 198 blimmen’ 8. I feel like Methuselah.
