I used to fish a pond in Sussex 40+ years ago. Behind Ardingly College if anyone knows that place. I raked out one heavily weeded swim one afternoon for a nights fishing. Caught 100+ small Tench up to 2 1/2lbs. Got smashed 3 or 4 times on 6lb line with unstoppable runs. Someone said there were supposedly carp in there. But I never knew of anyone catching carp from that pond nor did I know of anyone who even knew anyone, who'd caught carp there. Fanter Fishing - Yes mate. Could have probably caught more off the deck but sometimes you just wanna catch them a certain way ... and the float is epic. Not sure that little lake could possibly contain any more weed!!! 😂
Hi nick i have been fishing a small farm pond near my house recently for the tench but have been having trouble with the pike in there being very aggressive, smashing fry on the surface and probably spooking the rest of the fish. This isnt the only problem either, as in the last 3 sessions ive had 3 fish, all being pike taking a worm on a size 14 hook. I fish the lift method usually either with a worm or maggots, and after experimenting single red maggot seems to work the best, as the 2 tench and 1 carp ive caught have all been on single maggot. However, when i fish single red maggot within 30 seconds small roach or rudd are taking my bait making it impossible for a tench to pick up my bait and when i fish worm pike take it. I have fed balls of micropellet and breadcrumb but still little fish are eating it, luring in the pike which completely wreck the swim. I always fish the deepest spot in the lake, which is only about 3 1\2 feet deep. Any tips on how to avoid the little fish and pike? Love the vids by the way ❤
Loved this video nick what an amazing pond and tench fishing with a float is class i enjoy a spot of floatfishing it takes us back to our younger years cheers nick tight lines
