We Just uploaded our first Music Production Tutorial! This one is for the high-pitched "Bieber Bass" we used in our remix of "Confident ft. Chance The Rapper" by Justin Bieber. #Massive #Ableton #Tutorial
been bumping this remix since it dropped on Soundcloud back in 2014 when I'd have snowdays that lasted half a month, its so fun to learn how to make this sound on my first few tries after just finally massive, thanks guys, love ya
I have a serious question for all producers, how do these guys learn all of this stuff? Is it: A) randomly playing around, making sounds for a few years B) Reading up synthesis religiously or both?
both dude. many of the first concepts of making music come from rigorously watching youtube tutorials. but then the best part comes from playing around. thats where you get your own artistic expression.
NativeAUS Half of the bass patches I made, I made by accident, and ended up working quite well. Playing around and getting your hands dirty really does help, cause you begin to learn new shit every time c:
Ellis Buckinger yeah and i was attempting to make this bass in sytrus, got a little carried away and modded the pitch of the second sine on Y, made an automation clip for that, then added some vocodex and finally a dubstep beat. made in FL
I'm pretty sure this would be classed as a formant. Like the one in Skrillex's Ruffneck track. You get some interesting results though with the phasing kind of method with things. I tried this a while back and managed to make a cool yoy out of it.
could u guys do a tutorial about the other baselines u use? 1:11 - 1:14 are 3 different basses + something like a gatedpitchup thing ^^ . u guys do so good tutorials and i love to see that even guys who are successful with their music do tutorials for us rookies. Sry for my bad english and greetings from germany =) !
so so so nice, my dudes! any help on those four notes right before this one? the fuzzy, like....high pitched...thing. not the bass, but the sound in between the bass and the one the tutorial is on.
Thank you guys so much! Could you make a video in wich you show one of your sessions and than you show how you work with sub basses etc.? that would be awesome^^
Hi brotherssss thank u very much for this simply and short tutorial *___* but.. can u explain me how u do the first bass drop at 0:08 ??? please we need another tutorial :D
Great Tutorial! If you would be so kind as to do a tutorial for your initial growl bass, it would be MUCH appreciated. Also, jAyMaC AND Blaze in the comments is a good indicator of a great tutorial!
lmao i did that in a live show, played as long as you love me by bieber n cut him at at the drop n switched it too p0gman n trollphace and its like mah this shit is wak mah oooww n then epic dubstep drop XD EDM Kills bieber
Anybody know how the the other high bass is made? I mean the one before the one in the tutorial, it's slightly lower. Not really sure how to go about making it :/
Ive been beating my head against the wall trying to figure out your signature nasally gritty growls, mainly like in your Getter remix, specifically at :54-:56
Leave a comment if you want to see more tutorials from us!
great edm bruh
definitely want to see more. something growly would be really nice
It would be cool to see how to do the neuro type bass you played first before the high pitched sound!
I'd personally like to see a vocals tutorial that's something that I struggle with
Thanks for the tutorial guys, hope you make more!
I never thought of using Massive to make this sound. I've done it in FM8 though. Nice work!

Awesome, thanks guys. A tutorial of the growl you used in most of your tracks/remixes would be cool.

Can you guys do a tutorial on growl bass?
Yeah! Real good tutorials guys!!! You've helped me understand massive A LOT more with your tuts!
I have a serious question for all producers, how do these guys learn all of this stuff?

I've pondered the same thing for many moons.

Thank you SO much! I've been looking for this FOREVER! And yes, please do more tuts, maybe some of your vocoder basses? ;)
I'm pretty sure this would be classed as a formant. Like the one in Skrillex's Ruffneck track. You get some interesting results though with the phasing kind of method with things. I tried this a while back and managed to make a cool yoy out of it.
Using formants always seems to thin out the sound too much for me...I guess I just need to make a better source sound?

flp?
Done in Ableton, so not likely.
Why would you need an FLP? It has nothing to do with the host DAW.
