- 🇻🇳 Being "homesick" is bound to happen to anyone that leaves home for a long time. There will be things you cannot get anywhere else, no matter how hard to look. The thing is, most people tend to only have one place they think of when they get homesick. But for me, I have many. That's what happens when you travel. Vietnam happens to be one of those places that I stayed in for a long time (close to three years) and am proud to call one of my homes. So of course, having been gone for nearly half a year, there's a lot of things I've missed about it. Hope you enjoy.

The sensation of freedom when you can ride a scooter in VN is unique. It's not just being able to ride a scooter either but you can do the same riding a motorcycle in the West, it's that you see listen and smell so many things, you can stop and just eat some good food everywhere.

Definitely learn it like Chris and with the northern accent as the south tends towards slang and switching letters around. LOL! Cee Jay and August 8 also speak amazing Vietnamese with the northern accent. I think if you're gonna speak more southern (not 100% as I think he learned both in the north and south but lives in the south) then check out Vietnam Meets Dustin. Max McFarlin is learning and has AMAZING videos, but he's a bit further behind than Dustin and he speaks a totally southern dialect. Phuc Map (lives in the south but I believe is married to a northerner) has an extensive vocab, but his tonality and pacing is a bit off. He's getting much better lately, though.

do you notice At minute 1:47 the carpark or rather Bikepark attendant handed out you a parking ticket with his rite hand while his left palm touch his rite elbow ?
What is the significance of this gesture in Vietnamese, actually Confucius context ?
It signifies for Respect other person. In VNmese, Chinese, Korean & Japanese etiquette you shall use both hands when you hand out/in anything, no matter how trivial the thing is likes a tiny ticket in this case. One should knod his head slightly while extending his/her both hands as well. Even bow toward, depends of the seniority of others. Therefore, asking other age is very common in VN to know who is more senior.
When shaking hand (traditionally, not the Vietnamese thing but rather widely adapted Western style) a person does the same i.e., left palm touch right elbow or even reach out to right wrist if the other is more senior to you.
