"One of only 4 pitchers with 3,000 Strikeouts and less than 1,000 Walks." Schilling, Pedro, Maddux, Fergie. But now Justin Verlander falls under that category as well. So...5 pitchers?
I was ecstatic when they made that trade. Always thought Aramis was a hell of ballplayer in Pitt. Loften always seemed to be the first run across the plate in the game.
Jake Arrieta should have been #1. I know Fergie was great, but he never pitched in a World Series for the Cubs. Plus Jake had 2 no-hiiters, beat the Pirates in a make or break playoff game, won BOTH WS games he started in 2016 AND won a Silver Slugger, as a pitcher! Pretty amazing!
I would place Arrieta/Strop #1. The Cubs had Arrieta at his peak which resulted in two no-hitters, a Cy Young and a world series. The World Series Championship puts that trade above all others. Kyle Hendricks second for same reason. Hendricks post 2016 post season was phenomenal.
Hate to be that old school guy even though this happened more than a quarter century before I was born: but wasn't Hank Borowy traded to the Cubs by the Yankees in 1945? Or was that a waiver claim? If it's a trade, it has to be 1 or 2 on this list.
To be honest in my opinion I love the Cubs ive been trying to watch all the games im trying to find all of them and im taking a long time to write this so let me tell you my favorite players real quick all of them and at least give me a like if you want.
Fred McGriff was a complete waste of time. The Cubs wanted to trade for him because they were in contention but he waited like a week before he waived his no trade clause. As soon as he was in a Cub uniform he hit somewhere in the .100 range. As soon as the Cubs fell out of contention he started hitting the cover off the ball. The next season started out the same way. He didn't start actually hitting until the playoffs were well out of reach and ended up with the most vacuous and pointless 30 hr 100 RBI season ever. Just looking at his numbers is very misleading.
The trades they have made today, and the last few days are for players that will not make a difference. I wish they would do what the Padres are doing, and go for some decent players like Clevenger he may be better than any of our Cubs pitchers. They have to start getting some shut down pitching. I am sure i will get cut down for these comments, but i make them because i want this team to do good, and win. I really hate to hear the crap from White Sox fans, and it looks like the tide is turning their way again.
kyle hendricks is an amazing pitcher!
Still upset the Cubs didnt keep Castellanos
Or Daniel Murphy
They should of figured out a way to give him Kimbrels money. I think Castellanos has the potential to win a triple crown if he played more at Wrigley.
If we never signed Kimbrel we’d be able to afford Castellanos. He gets payed about the same with Cincinnati
Brendon Bialas they still could have signed him

Trey Hodson He’s still playing so they wouldn’t put him on that list. Although he will almost certainly finish his career with under 1000 walks.
That Ramirez/Lofton trade was robbery.

I thought the got Simon too!
@@antfbi they got Simon earlier in that season.
D Lee and a Ram at the 3-4 was amazing
I had no idea that Fred McGriff played for the Cubs
Kyle Hendricks is one of the greatest pitchers of all time right now and it is slept on. Clutch this man is everything
Sutcliffe has to be number one all time. Going 16-1. Cmon.
A little surprised Chapman wasn’t higher on the list
Hendricks is so good!
What about Top 10 Free Agent Signings?
We need a true lead off man like Kenny Lofton again.

Man how did Nomar not make this list
where is the anthony rizzo trade
CUBS GO~
Did anyone else see that we gave the Yankees gleyber which pretty much means we gave away a ring
We won a ring, tho. Have the Yankees won any yet?
@@xmbdesign7421 Great point.....the Yankees haven't won anything, since they got him. Aidan's point, made zero sense.

Chapman and Mont should be higher imo without them we don't win a WS

Sarge and Dernier were not in season trades, they were acquired in the Spring.
Sutcliffe was the best one.
How the F*ck did Ryan Sandberg not make this list??
Lost gleyber Torres but got a ring!!!
Top 10 Hits In Cubs History or stop 10 strikeouts in Cubs History
I miss mike Montgomery so much
Ik
Love Sut, but Joe Carter had many more great years than the Red Barron. I would have rather kept Carter.
