Lori, the wreath is gorgeous! I find that to help with the sap, baking the pinecones on the lowest heat setting for about 45 minutes takes care of that! ❤
Thanks so much, Beth! I am so happy you like my wreath and I am definitely going to try baking the pine cones! I thought they had dried completely, but that sap was still hiding in there, so can't wait to bake my next batch and thank you for the awesome tip, sweet friend!! XXOO

Your wreath turned out amazing. Here in North Carolina we have an abundance of large and small pine cones. I love using them. Thanks for sharing. Have a blessed day.

When I found this wreath, I was thrilled! It's absolutely gorgeous and four of my friends will be receiving one for Christmas. (Mine will be the 1st!) I'm looking at florist paint colors right now. I live north of NYC, and have a beautiful white pine outside my door. We had a bad storm last week, which shook all the fresh pine cones off the tree! Last count I was at 190, with more to bake! That's a good tip, if possible with others, you clean the cones by soaking in water, changing water at least 3 times for a large sink. When done, I strain them (don't use a good one) till no water is in the bowl below, then I just add them to the pile to bake. 300 degrees on a foiled lined cooking sheet, separating them so they can open up. 3 hours. I guess I fit about 50 at a time. And the best part is, there is no sap at all! They come out perfect! I wish I could share a photo. If I can, let me know how! I love this craft.
Thank you so much, Carolyn! 😊 I am so happy you like it and I know your friends will love it too! You can also use regular spray paint ~ I made a Valentine's Pine Cone Wreath ~ I'll link it here in case you want to make one of these too LOL! th-cam.com/video/_AO0_l9TtQ8/w-d-xo.html Happy Crafting, Friend!

Lori, Scarletsmile sells these same exact wreaths on Etsy from $35 up to $450 dollars!! I have tried to duplicate it so many times, but I was soaking and shrinking the pinecones, then inserting them into the wire form, but just couldn’t get that swirl. You have totally saved my sanity and hands! Thank you so much! I hope you won the challenge! You definitely won a new subscriber! Dollar Tree opened next door to where I work. I had not shopped one before and went a little crazy! How did I spend $88 at the Dollar Tree?!?!?
Hi Lori I think this wreath is absolutely beautiful as well love that you pick up the pine cones from your yard I do the same with I walk my dog...it really beautiful 😍...I'll definitely try something like this watch full video sending continuous love and support your way❤

Oh my gosh how lucky are you that you live in a Pine Forest that is absolutely stunning you see that in a store that would cost you at least 60 $70 gorgeous my friend
This wreath is beautiful! My niece ask me to make a pinecone wreath for her mom with a couple of cardinals and I came across your wreath tutorial, thank you so much for sharing, I wasn't sure what to attach them to 🤗🤗
Thanks so much, Cindy ❤️ I'm so happy I am able to help you make one and I left the instructions to dry the pine cones in my description box and also in this video th-cam.com/video/VxeXjhE-x_Y/w-d-xo.html Happy Holidays and Happy Crafting, Friend!
I painted all my pinecones but mine are fat! I'm using and old grapevine wreath. I will see what I can do. My granddaughter and I used red and white to look like a candycane.😄 We loved your wreath!
Oh my goodness! Beautiful! I love this. ✨💖These are the perfect kind, too! And wow, they're huge! Pinecone wreaths are crazy expensive - I'm so jealous I don't have the trees anywhere near me. lol
Thanks so much, Vesna! You are always so sweet and I'm so happy you like my Christmas Wreath! Once I got going with that spray paint, I couldn't be stopped LOL!! Have a great day, sweet friend! XXOO
Hey friend ❤ Gorgeous! I've seen those in different colors and thought I would love to make one. I figured they were much harder to do so I am so glad you showed us your technique! I live in the woods too. This started as a silly thing but we went camping and hubbyand son went out hiking. He said "I got you a present" , told me close my eyes, it's one of a kind then (gullible wife I am) ,hold out my hands, hard to get, etc and hands ,me a pinecone. After that we started getting pinecones from every place we camped which most places did. At least we'll know why that wreath is special. I'll probably put a bow on it instead or use neutral colors to keep up in our cabin all year. Thank you for the awesome tutorial!❤
Hey, Sweet Friend!! I love your story, that's something my husband and son would do! LOL! That's a great idea to collect them from different places and you're so right, it will make it even more special because when it's hanging, it means so much more than if you bought it at a store! I'm always so happy to see your comments and I hope you're having a 'wicked' (Boston Accent LOL!) good day!! Hugs!! XXOO
I love it !.. how many pine cones did you use ??… did you put them in the oven to kill all the bugs??.. I’ve heard other crafters say they put them in the oven to get all the bugs out of the pine cones .. Idk the temperature it was, but I’m sure we could get it from someone.. it’s really Beautiful !! .. I love it.. thank you so much for sharing !!
Thanks so much, Susie ♥️ Yes, I baked them to dry the sap and thankfully, no little critters were inside ~ I placed the instructions in my description so you can see how I did it. I think I used about 70 or so. Happy Holidays, Friend!
Absolutely gorgeous!! Wish I could hit a pinecone jackpot!! 😆 I saw ONE single pinecone at Wal-Mart, maybe a TAD bigger than the ones you used and they wanted 4 bucks for it! That would be one expensive wreath! Lol. Anyhow, it's beautiful and tfs!!!!❤
Thanks so much, Wendy! Wow, that's crazy, $4, I'd be a millionaire if I could sell all mine and they are still falling from the trees! I wish I lived closer to the people who need them, I happily share this stash!! I hope you're having a great day!! Hugs! XXOO
@@LoriBlyeDIY yeah I'm not sure what made those pine cones so special lol. Especially since walmart seems to have very reasonable priced Christmas decor!! I wish I lived closer I'd take some off your hands!! :)
Wow your wreath is gorgeous! Love how it turned out I made one once with short squatty pine cones. So like a crazy person I wired each one to the wreath form. I will never do that again lol. My fingers wouldn't work for weeks afterward. The hot glue method looks so much easier on the hands!! BTW if you do a lot of paint spraying you should get an attachment for the spray nozzle that allows you to use a trigger instead of wearing out your finger. Best $3. I ever spent!.
Hey Friend!! I'm so happy you like it and I was originally going to try to wire them, then I got lazy LOL! and thought, I'm going to try to glue them and it worked great! I have some of those squatty ones, I found one lone tree across the street in the pine forest with those different types of pine cones (maybe a bird dropped a seed decades ago)? I'm going to give them a try and see what I can come up! Great idea about the sprayer, I'm going to get one for sure, it will save my finger, that's why I wore the gloves LOL! Hope you're day is great, hugs!! XXOO

Yes I bake them before I use them too. 😃
Not a great idea if you have a GAS oven that only goes down to 325 or 350. Still a great tip for electric ovens!

Hugs!! XXOO
I love how this turns out!!! I have a ton of pinecone around my house too. I may just have to do this ! Thanks for sharing!!😊💜
That is a stunning wreath Lori - love it 💕!
Fantastic 🤩
This is awesome
Nice ! - ❤
Thank you so much, Jonil! ⛄❄️⛄
@@wendydomsher1973 I wish you did too, I'd be loading you up, you'd be making 10 wreaths!! LOL!
Wow your wreath is gorgeous! Love how it turned out
I made one once with short squatty pine cones.
I think I need one of those too!
XXOO
@@LoriBlyeDIY New Orleans is in the direct line of the eye of Hurricane Zeta with 105 mph winds expected so my morning was great. Made some ornaments but this evening we will probably be hunkered down in the center hall way with no electricity!! Starting to really blow. Ttyl8r
Jo
@@jcrefasi1 Oh No! That's horrible and scary! I hope you are safe and you don't lose your electricity for very long! We've had a few hurricanes up here, but nothing like you're experiencing! I'm sending prayers and please stay safe, dear friend!! XXOO
@@LoriBlyeDIY lost power and that seems to be the worst of it. It was dark by the time It ended and no other damage so far as I can tell. Will know more when the sun comes up. At least the temp isn't that bad with no AC!!
