Esplanade park here ends at the Swedish theater to the west. As you walk east, there are statues of national iconic poets and Havis Amanda. All the way to the east, if you look closely at the small high statue at the market square, you'll see a two-headed eagle that is a symbol of imperial Russia. There is a lion on the chest that is a Finnish symbol. This the oldest public memorial in Helsinki and it commemorates the visit of Russian emperor Nicholas I and his wife Aleksandra in 1833. It was unveiled in 1835, torn down by Russian sailors in 1917 and put back together in 1971 after consultation with Soviet Union. It's exceptional that the transcript on the statue was written in Finnish in early 19th century as Finnish language didn't even get an official status until 1863.
@@AdzwayTV I live here and have passed these places many times. I've read the transcripts on the statues. I had to check the years online though but they should be correct. :)

@@odyibuzo8210 Hello I live in Finland. Finland is going to go into recession soon if not already there. No jobs, and really hard for non-finnish speakers. Sweden might be better in that regard, easier to learn if you know english. But if you decide to come to Finland mr.Ody please feel welcome. Stay safe!
@@arcabuz If you were smart, you would buy a camera with your own money and show the world the best part of Finland. If you don’t like the video, dont watch it
@@AdzwayTV what a lame response to your audience. My initial comment was legit and polite, but you came up with the sarcasm. Bad move for someone who wants to make money with TH-cam
Let's go Adzwaytv🎉🎉🎉🎉....BTW the city looks so clean.
Yeah it is. Nordic Countries tend to be
its pretty dirty compared to for example poland
Don't worry. The illegal migrants and even migrants that come legally will change that.

Helsinki is much more than marketsquare and places around .
That is true, but it’s difficult for me to show the whole Helsinki
That is not exactly Finland in the video, it is the only populated area in Helsinki.
So you want me to show you the whole of Finland in a video
@@AdzwayTV if you were smart you would have understood that you did not show a very representative place of what Finland is really.

@@AdzwayTV my comment was totally legit and polite. You came up with the sarcasm, hence you’re not very smart.
