    Another great video, I've definitely picked up a few handy tips watching you. I enjoy how you explain everything so clearly and yet manage to make it enjoyable at the same time.
    I was wondering if you have any experience in making gates with composite gate boards instead of wooden infill panels? Obviously every job is different and each customer has different requirements but I've started to use them on gates I make. This is mainly to save weight on larger gates due to them being hollow but also to save on the maintenance (no need to repaint every so often and minimal warping over time).
    Would be great if you get the time to make a video on that.
    Keep up the good work anyway!

    Hello friend, I noticed that you frame the wooden boards very tightly. From heat and cold, the tree has a narrowing or expansion. How not to break the board from strong weather changes?

    • @9009matorres
      @9009matorres 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not many strong weather changes in Florida. Heat and cold isn’t really a problem.

    Great job it looks great. But I have a full aluminum gate with 1'' x 5'' slats, same design. How do I add the studs to the aluminum?

    How do you powder coat your gates? Do you send them to someone or do it yourself ?

    I'd love to get the link for those rustic rivet heads. Often times I get a customer who wants the look, but doesn't want to pay for the actual ironwork lol

    Nice video again. You make it look so easy ! I learn a lot of your video's. How do you calculate the distance beteween the door and the post as seen at 8.15 ? Is there a rule opf thumb?

    • @donsmith9081
      @donsmith9081 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      The easiest way is to layout (on table or floor) the total opening then mark the post width on each side then measure/mark hinge allowance on one end and gravity latch allowance on other. This will give you the gate width O.D. (long point of 45* cut)
