I completely agree that more expensive doesn’t equal better quality. Most of the time for me the more money I’ve spent on something (I’m looking at you Brooklinen towels) the quality isn’t there to justify the price IMO. Most of the time the middle range price point is where I find the best quality with most things.
I have recently minimized my subscriptions on YT, and I felt awful for it at first, but I immediately felt better. We are all allowed to be in our own season of life.
Thank you for being so real! Thank you for showing the small mess behind your couch. I can relate! I appreciate your sharing what you did in this video.
Yes! You as you is more approachable and interesting. You're beautiful and I'm jealous of how you look; that's harder to get than any lifestyle! Great video.
I’d be worried that a $700 sweater would get snagged, shrink in the wash, get spilled on… or just not be something I could relax in and enjoy wearing! I’d be terrified every time I washed it. OR would spend a fortune on dry cleaning. What a hassle! You wouldn’t want to pet a dog, cook or eat food, or burp a baby while wearing it. So it would never get worn.
Such a great video! You are one of my favorite TH-camrs to watch. I keep thinking, "how many more unique videos on minimalism can a person make?" And you keep sharing great ideas!
Thanks for being you. I can't imagine spending that much money on any clothing item at all, and I shop very consciously where I don't want any slave labor or things that are not ethically sourced, etc... therefore things are usually a little more expensive because they'll last longer and I don't have to worry about people not being treated or paid well for their work. Loved your term Aspirational Creep. Great video. Thanks for sharing your thoughts!
hi elin! i love your channel. you ARE so approachable, and grounded, and relatable. i really appreciate your videos, esp knowing you have an extensive education backing your content. keep being you please! 😊
I like the point you made about being considerate with your money as a way to bond, and be more relatable! I started aggressively budgeting recently and it gives me a lot of motivation.
I just had to look up high end sweaters to see what in the world makes them so expensive. I found a Loewe Anagram Cable-Knit Sleeve Sweater made of Mohair for $1,250. And it wasn't even that pretty. I know there are people that live at this level, but I don't get it. Great conversation. Thanks so much.
Hi Elin, nice video! I know this is totally different topic but I thought it would be interesting to see and hear from you about how are you finding/managing motherhood with ms. I hope you are feeling well! Sorry, didn't know how to contact you about this otherwise than replying to one of your new videos.
I love this video so much. But I don’t love being around people. What are other things you could have instead of connection to stop a shopping addiction? People just aren’t my thing.
My garden is incredibly helpful. I feed them, they feed me… it’s a delightful reciprocal relationship if even if you’re not growing food. If that’s not your thing, walks in nature, visiting a park, or being near water could help you connect to something other than consumption. My struggle is more with food, but I absolutely understand how shopping can be an outlet. Best of luck. I’m sure others will have even better ideas.
I agree! I have clicked on something just because I’m curious and then you’re bombarded with ads!!! Don’t even go there! Be content!!

Exactly my words! Thank you for saying that out loud.. Thank you for sharing your thoughts in such a kind way 👋🇩🇰😘
I love this! Thank you for speaking on this topic. I’ve been guilty of aspirational creep and it always makes me feel less than.
