Reserve list is one of the dumbest things that Wizards of the Coast has done, and the fact that they are still respecting the Reserve List after all this time despite everything is even dumber.
Would prefer if Wotc make a" Secret Lair reserved list", and selling black lotus and other 5 cards for 10 thousand dollars. People would think is a sweet deal and buy billions
Wotc can't violate the reserved list in an off brand game lol. The original printing is in set DMEX-08 , with the new printing being in DMEX-18. Jake And Joel Are Magic did a box opening of it during the most recent foil quest.
And just like that, every Alpha Black Lotus became worth $0... ...oh, wait, that's not what happened at all. Scrubs. In terms of casual formats, though, that would be a pretty sweet proxy.
Love it when people have no context, but complain anyway. Heck, Jace is actually a card in Duel Masters together with Optimus Prime, and both were tournament legal over there.
and to be honest what the hell is even the problem if you violate the reserve list? Beta and Alpha Black lotus will still be worth what they are worth because they are first edition graded anyway... moxes are not allowed in the majority of the formats anyway and some cards would help people to get into other formats for cheap and leave collectors free of charging 8k for an alpha badland. As a commander player I'd love to afford a cheap dual land just to fix my manabase ... they are still not as busted as other utility lands they printed anyways but no I can't because someone is crying about a market rule that they don't even understand since it's widely known that first editions have a collector price that won't suffer reprints in any other market and the plummet of prices due to reprints are only a part of gameplay perspective that does not apply to a lot of the reserved list since you can't even play the more busted cards in the majority of the formats so you are just getting them as a collector and not as a player... this thing hurts my brain every time I think about it
This reprint will make all original black lotus's price crash!!. I'd be so pissed off if I owned an original black lotus... and I was a complete idiot.
It would be if they made a Black Lotus item in DnD. Doesn't mean anything even if they share art and such. It may even exist. The only thing that matters is that the Magic card isn't made in Magic. Proxy would be cool though.
There is an even nicer Version in Oldborder view in Foil... :D i love the cards .... they even reused some other artwork like Bird of Paradiese and Sliver Overloard and Urzas Rage
I understand what he is saying... However, when you people no longer want the original and just something "real" from what happens to be the same company. One could think that it would devalue the original... For example: I have a Vintage Powered cube with crazy cards in it. Do i own all the dual lands and the power 9 no... But you can be damn well sure that when i found out about this i picked up one of these on ebay to put into the cube for my lotus. Supply and Demand... even if the demand is some what different...
If the reserve list is just cards on a list they won't reprint what stops them from just taking the cards off the list and reprinting them lol I think it would be good for accessibility to the game for new players.

I tried getting into duel masters back in the day when it was first available here, I always liked it and felt it was a great alternative to Yu-Gi-Oh, but nobody played it. Later on I discovered magic and it makes sense why I liked this game so much, it’s kind of similar to magic.
Reserve list is one of the dumbest things that Wizards of the Coast has done, and the fact that they are still respecting the Reserve List after all this time despite everything is even dumber.
Thankyou for clarifying this issue for MtG players!
in other context you should do a search for "duel masters collab cards" and view the size to which our "universes beyond" may grow.
Sir that is one great shirt!! Where did u get it i want one!! And keep up the great work
LOL. Its not a black lotus. People are just freaking stupid. But I was just convinced to buy one just for the novelty of it.
They also have sliver queen
Would prefer if Wotc make a" Secret Lair reserved list", and selling black lotus and other 5 cards for 10 thousand dollars.
People would think is a sweet deal and buy billions
sure and it would be bought out by like 3 people.
Wotc can't violate the reserved list in an off brand game lol. The original printing is in set DMEX-08 , with the new printing being in DMEX-18. Jake And Joel Are Magic did a box opening of it during the most recent foil quest.
Kaijudo and duel masters were 2 different releases in North America. "Whos the kid with the spiky hair?"
Good! Down with the reserved list! Get rid of it! It's hurting magic.
For every new jewelled lotus snd other quasi reserved list card that gets printed, the reserved list reprint is less likely. Sorry kids
Wait duel masters is still a thing?
Yes, lol. Like the 100 fans left get to get reserved list cards for no real reason.
It still going strong in Japan apparently.
Once my bones hurt. Now my butt hurts when I sit in a chair 🪑
I heard you having that histeric laugh at the end and had to rewatch the faithless looting video XD XD XD
and to be honest what the hell is even the problem if you violate the reserve list?
Really? I mean, really? Just because it has the name and the art, people are saying that that's a reprint? IN ANOTHER GAME???? WHAT THE HELL?!?
People freaking out over nothing? Who could have guessed. God forbid a single card doesn’t cost 3x the amount of a car.
I hope they really do violate the reserve list someday, and do so maliciously going forward with much frequency.
Make the game accessible
It would be if they made a Black Lotus item in DnD. Doesn't mean anything even if they share art and such. It may even exist. The only thing that matters is that the Magic card isn't made in Magic. Proxy would be cool though.
Heroes of dominaria has a black lotus in the game.
Not even close to functionally identical. Plus its not even a mtg printing. Ergo no reserve list violation.
If people would know the Reserve list nothing more than a joke, but I feel like some people just don't know.
I don’t think you know what you’re talking about
@@junglerumbler6917 How a contracts work if both parties sign it, but with the list that contract was only signed by Wizards and no one else.
Reserve list is a thing that makes wealthy whiney people to go, look how expensive this is, and you can't have it.
But what’s the issue dual masters is not even close to MTG
I know how to solve this whole debate with one simple question. “Is it legal in any magic the gathering format?”................
There is an even nicer Version in Oldborder view in Foil... :D i love the cards .... they even reused some other artwork like Bird of Paradiese and Sliver Overloard and Urzas Rage
You could use this in a Garth one-eye deck. That's about it.
What is duel masters
The furore over this lotus is silly. Its not even a magic card, it has different art and is functionally nothing like the original.
Supply and Demand... even if the demand is some what different...
that art is dope AF... skeleton is sneaky
I wish this was a reserve list violation. That garbage relic of a bygone era needs to get tossed in the dumpster.
Huh, weird. I'm in the US, and I knew it as Duel Masters. I heard of the Kaijudo name, but thought that was the Japanese one. 😅
It's not violating because the abilities are complete different.
If you think this is a problem, then fire up a lawsuit or just quiet down.
If the reserve list is just cards on a list they won't reprint what stops them from just taking the cards off the list and reprinting them lol I think it would be good for accessibility to the game for new players.
I never thought there should be a reserved list!
Good. Maybe they'll sue, lose, and Black Lotus could be reprinted in the next set.
People actually think this violates the reserve list? Come on.
Why would people care about the tournaments?
Waifu number 3, Kawaii, lol, a man of culture. Hope you snag yourself a Gsupps sponsorship for this!
