My daughter is 7 and she loves these songs just like I did When I was little. My grandmother took me to church like this and she led the song just like him. I just love it!
love these old church songs that many churches have pulled away from. These songs just stir up the spirit in the rooms, your feet get to patting, your body starts rocking and swaying with every verse, and your hands clapping til they are bright red. When you here this I say , you feel good all over.
Low down the chariot and let me ride. I wanna see my mother. I wanna see my father. I wanna see my brother. I wanna see JESUS 👑. LOW DOWN THE CHARIOT AND LET ME RIDE
My unlce was man of GOD WHEN HE CALL HIM HOME THEY FOUND HIM ON HIS KNEES. BUT TOLD ME EVERY BORN AGAIN BEILIVER SHOUND HAVE A SONG. TO GOD THIS IS MINE. LOW DOWN YOUR CHARROITLET ME RIDE ALL WAY TO GLORY
I was blessed enough to have known my great grandmother, Emma Corinne Dudley, who was born in 1894. She died at the age of 99 in April of 1994. I was also blessed to have known five of her siblings. My grandmother, Greatha Wheeler was her 8th child out of 12. In the late fifties my grandmother gave her life to the Lord and became a Seventh Day Adventist. And by the time I came along in 84 I was raised a Seventh Day Adventist. Her mother, Big Mama was a God-fearing Presbyterian Baptist I believe and I remember those red times we would go to her church on Sunday there were no instruments. No piano, no drums, no nothing but old people clapping and stomping their feet.Moaning and groaning. I was kind of scared of going to that church ( I was four years old, it was old, small, cold and kind of dark) my cousin and I had to endure pinches, swats to the back of the head with the fan for talking or falling asleep, or laughing at the old people singing. In the end it was all worth it because we were blessed with the best fried chicken in Newark New Jersey. The church is still standing to this day with my cousin Jerome Branham as the pastor. It sits on Mercer Street, across from Perry's Funeral Home.
My Lord can you feel it? Church will never be the same! We need ot go back to the basics one more time. To much music dulls the power of God's presence in the song.. Sing Pastor Flemming!
Our Macon's own Timothy Fleming plus our use to be neighbor and love my mom's biscuits 😅😅😅of JOY STILL...The Fountain's in Macon Ga.ole time religion singing hymning and praising dancing...#Hallelujah
This one really brought up some memories I had forgotten....whew....I can remember tagging along with one of my aunts in NC to a few funerals and hearing this song....man.........wow....
I also remember listening to Rough Side of the Mountain growing up and you could not tell me that was not my grandmother's brother Rodger Lee Dudley and his wife singing this song. And one of my big cousin's convinced me it was them so I would go around telling people that was my great-uncle and his wife and they're famous gospel singers 😂😂😂
